Plus $10 million for pain and suffering. LOL

Parents likely already have Multi-Entry Visa judging by how quickly they got here. They landed about 48 hours after the kidnapping. Pretty common for parents of international students to have 10 year ME Visa with unlimited visits . 6 months per visit.
If they have a Visitor Visa for the US thet could just drive down to Buffalo for the day and the 6 month clock resets.

I think the government expedites any visa process to people who's family are in crises like kidnapping cases such as this

They said that what happened is not something that people see in Canada. They said that if it was a kidnapping for ransom, they would have heard something by now.

The van used in the abduction has been found.

My guess is that the victim is no longer alive. I wonder where the thugs came from. What was their description again ... other than the expensive stolen clothing:

Unfortunately this suspect has not been apprehended yet. There is a Canada wide warrant out for his arrest. He is 37 years old from Toronto. Police are not saying whether they believe he has a tie to WL. Can't wait to find out what he has to say if he is found. This whole thing just gets stranger by the day.

Dear dotr,

Thank you for sharing this news about the identification of one of the suspects! This is huge for the investigation. Finally a turning point towards what happened and why.

It's likely just a matter of time before the police track down the other suspects by checking out his associates/friends. Likely his internet provider has already released data to the police. They would have other data as well by now.

I haven't seen in the news articles which of these old mugshots of Abdullahi Adan is the most recent.

He does have a very distinct look about him and I hope that cctv - or a tip called in - locates him very soon!

Sounds like this mystery is about to unravel. I certainly hope so.

Thanks. I jumped the gun (wishful arrest thinking).

Yes, I'm curious as to why WL was taken (ransom--hence, the forcible confinement charge?) and more curious as to why he was released.

Given these are mugshots, perhaps other cops recognised him and the photos were shown to the victim. IMO hard to tell that cctv Suspect 3 was him.
 
The YRP officer noted in the latest interview the amazing job forensics has done with the van.
I'm guessing they lifted his fingerprints off the van and ran it through the database.
Wonder what else was found in there.

Great news! ... I see this case progressively exponentially faster now with this arrest.
 
He’s going to sing like a canary.

I still can't wrap my ahead around the fact 4 criminals left 3 luxury vehicles behind. They could've driven off with all 3 plus the minivan and left the kid alone. The cars would be in a container headed to Africa and these guys wouldn't have the entire country looking for them. Nobody cares about stolen cars
 
Very interesting that a man with at least 2 previous arrests has surrendered so quickly to the warrant. Either he is also the wrong person, like the 35yr old previously arrested, or he has a story to tell that he thinks will exonerate at least himself in this mess.

Anxiously awaiting more news on this one.

I think the 35 year old previously arrested/released is the owner of the mini van.
They found him pretty quickly after the van was found abandoned.
 
Since he was identified, possibly he turned himself in to make a plea deal. He could have surrendered with the assistance of a lawyer.

There is also a good chance he is still on probation from his 2018 arrest.

I have no idea about any of this. These are only my thoughts. I am just thankful that he has been identified and arrested.

Great thought @ChubbyPanda !

There must be some type of connection with the 35 year-old and the van. Whether or not he is part of this, there was some reason for his arrest.
