As best as I can remember this is a real case. Citizen is driving on the Belt Parkway in Queens and a head goes rolling past his car. Queens gets the murder case. In a matter of hours it is determined the victim was probably killed in Brooklyn. Queens goes to Brooklyn to set up investigation. Brooklyn wants no part of this. In a matter of few hours we find the headless body of the victim stuffed in the furnace of an apartment building. Argument can be made that nobody cut off the head in Queens and take the body back to Brooklyn. Brooklyn wants no part of this ....UNtIL we develop a real suspect that could be arrested by the end of day. Now everyone wants the case because it represents a clearance.

It could be as simple as this: The killer didn't want to throw the gun away. The bullet is in the head. Get the bullet and then get the gun and you have a murder case. The jurisdiction issue could be nothing more than a lot of silliness.
Agreed

Could it have possibly been a sort of urn at some point? But why leave it there?

Skull (and other remains) found on Rocky Point Rd added to NamUs! https://www.identifyus.org/en/cases/16432

(Not Peaches)
25-45 year old Hispanic male with "healed fracture shaft of right radius," all parts recovered. This sure sounds like the other male victims. Estimated postmortem interval: 6 months.

Wow...that seems quick to me. With all that dental work (fillings) found with UID16432, I've already found a young missing man who had extensive dental work done (gold capped teeth). But, it couldn't be that easy...

I asked Bessie to start a thread under LISK unidentified because it was Suffolk County.

There is a huge issue with latino gangs out there that shouldn't be confused with LISK MOO.

Incidentally, Burke really did not nurture the LI gang task force's relationship with the FBI. Verone moved over to Huntington to work the gang issues there. I do believe Burke thought he had it all figured out - that he was the king at his department and he nor his "palace guards" didn't need the FBI to help fight various cases around Suffolk. Moron. Absolutely hindered so many cases (not just LISK, but so many others) just b/c he has a big narcissistic head.

Last night a male body was found in Massapequa perserve (AKA Caroons Lake woods). Today NCPD had a chopper land at a close by elementary school supposedly related to this finding. I'd link SnoozeDay article but I won't pay to read the whole thing.

Snip

Police released a sketch Saturday of the victim. They believe his body was in Massapequa Preserve Park for two to three weeks, and are trying to figure out who he is and why someone would brutally beat him to death.

During the examination at the Medical Examiner’s Office, it had been discovered that the victim had sustained multiple lacerations and blunt force trauma to the upper body and head,” Fitzpatrick said. “These injuries appear to be from a large cutting instrument.”

The victim, described as Hispanic in his late teens or early 20’s, was last seen wearing a black, long sleeved American Eagle shirt like the one pictured above. The sketch provided police shows he had a distinct haircut, long on the top with shorter sides. Authorities say he was around 5’3″ and 120 pounds.

Police say nobody has come forward since word of the gruesome discovery got out.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
