ITA the purse was left on the seat as an invitation for thieves. Plus, leaving the car at a check-cashing place...generally their clientele are hurting for money. She might as well have parked it in front of a pawn shop, you know?

It makes me giggle when I imagine Casey seeing the car gone from Amscot after the 30th, getting all excited thinking that someone had stolen it and she was home free.

Do you know I never thought about that? I mean I assumed Casey left it there hoping it would get stolen, but never thought it through as far as you have. Thanks for posting that! Giggle is right!

Well, it is my opinion that the car was locked and did not have the keys in it. The purse was not a purse, its a bag. The car was out of gas and that is backed up by Sb witnessing Ga putting gas in the car and seeing the gauge was on empty, further back up by the evidence garage confirming the gas gauge worked. So, she just simply ran out of gas. But wait there is more. She text Amy and ask if she can borrow her and her gas can, yet more, they actually go and buy a gas can, but wait there is even more, this is not the first time she has ran out of gas, she has done it before, backed up by Tl and Ga in that she took her own dad's gas cans. She is a typical teenager, only she's 22. IMO

It is funny how we would all love to run out of gas right there at a gas station. We usually have no choice at the moment of truth. Mark F pointed out all the cameras on the amscot bank on his video, but he also pointed out a gas station right next door. Don't know why Tl didn't just step up to the plate and go over to a gas station and get a couple of gallons for her. This was the second time he had that choice. Kc could have done the same thing if she had a couple of bucks on her. They act like kids because they are kids. That is my opinion..

Maybe because she didn't ask him or anyone else to help her? Maybe because she wanted that car that stunk of decomp gone?

IIRC it was because kc told him "no"---that her dad was going to fix it--i.e., take it to the shop--needed work done..

I don't think saying she acting like a silly kid is a good strategy. She obviously parked the car next to the dumpster so people would not notice the smell. My guess is TL does not own a gas can because he never runs out of gas, that is KC's little trick. And why would the guys who supposedly pushed her car into Amscot not push it into the gas station that was right there. KC had her mother's credit card. I think the defense would want to stay away from dropping the car off at Amscot.....far away. jmo

Way back when..........we all thought Casey had left her purse in the car, not true. Casey's purse was retrieved by Lee from Tony's apt.
What looked like a purse was actually something Cindy called 'a work bag".

I agree LambChop. Defense would be wise to dance around the car, not ask for two for experiments. No one stole the car because it smelled of decomp. Had it not smelled, someone would have at least smashed the window to grab the bag on the front seat and rummage for change, steal the radio, and whatever else they could grab. Even the lowest down and out drugged up homeless person would not touch a car that smells like someone dead is in it.

That was on the phone later when he was in ny.

This is OT but KC was gone a long time and the cell pings may have the answer. My guess is she sat there until the car ran out of gas, air on full blast. They said the car was parked perfectly up near the dumpster and did not look as if someone had pushed her into the spot. Plus the dumpster was at the side back of the business. So, as I said don't see defense going there, no way, no how. jmo

I respectfully disagree highly doubt the Sa would try to go down that line. She didn't obviously park it anywhere. It was out of gas, she had no choice. No one has said in any document that the car smelled at Amscot. I thought her mothers credit card was a sears card. Don't know of too many gas stations that take sears cards.

The defense is only going to agree that the car ran out of gas at amscot. I am not sure why the Amscot employee is saying it was there early that morning though. Moo

This "work bag" was discussed on another thread, and I had looked up the information also. It contained an envelope with Amy H's resumes in it and a lanyard that supposively belonged to "Chris".

But the car was backed into the parking space. How often do you run out of gas and then back yourself into a parking space?

Do we actually know she ran out of gas? I know George automatically brought his gas can to the towyard on the assumption Casey had run out of gas, but I don't know for sure that she actually had. Anyone?

The car would not start. Simon looks in and says its on empty. Ga says thats okay, I brought gas. Simon witnesses Ga putting the gas in. Ga gets back in. Car starts.

I think GA in his deposition stated it was out of gas but if he put gas in the tank before opening the car...how would he know for sure. The pictures in discovery show what looks like more than a couple of gallons of gas in the car after it was towed to LE. Looks like more than just one gallon. jmo

I have a Sears Visa card and any gas station will take it.
