I doubt that there was a through evaluation of Casey.
Just because she can text, drive,lie, & steal does not make of of sound mind. LOL

But I'm telling ya, the evaluation they give you before you can be released from jail on bond is quite enough to tell if one is Psychotic. The amount of time we have seen Casey in interviews with LE, visits with her brother, her parents.. sitting in court -for what, an hour or more at a time?!-. Talking on the phone to her parents, her brother, from jail..
IMO what we have seen of her interactions with the world around her since all this began has been more than enough to have noticed some psychosis. We would have seen it, heard it, in all of these hours and hours of videos and audios. Psychosis doesn't take a break just cuz your on film. It doesn't make exceptions just because you are in court.

Psychosis has some pretty characteristic symptoms.. IMO it's unmistakable... I bet the doctors who evaluated Casey feel the same way. The tests they give are quite accurate.
If the psych eval comes back bad all bets are off. If you are "insane" you are considered unable to "help in your own defense", you are "unable to understand the charges against you", you "don't know right from wrong" etc.
Jails don't let psychotic people out on bond, they send 'em off to forensic hospitals & pump 'em full of meds hoping some day they'll make 'em sane enough so they can be prosecuted.

ETA.. I'm thinking if Casey were psychotic she probably wouldn't be texting and driving at all. Ya know?

I don't think it's a given. It would depend on the situation I believe. Like Andrea Yates called police after she murdered her children.. she knew what she'd done was illegal but felt she had to do it anyway to save their little souls.

NGBRI didn't even work for her the first time around.. she was found guilty and she really was insane!

I just re-read the transcripts from the recent LK show. Something really struck me. LK said something like, didn't she (KC) act weirdly at times? Part of CA's response was to the effect of "I don't know what weirdly means. I do believe that response to be true. There were oh so many things that would be very weird to me. Her daughter is 7 months pregnant and she didn't notice that. GA's gambling/internet scam, or whatever that was. KC stealing money left and right. The "Nanny". All of KC's lies, right down to bringing LE on a wild goose chase. The car, the smell. The list goes on and on. My point is that I believe KC to be a Master Manipulator and has a personality disorder. She knows that her mom never deemed anything she did as weird and she was very proficient at manipulating the family dynamics "the boss". I do not think of her as legally insane, I fully believe that she knows/knew the difference between right and wrong. I don't think an insanity plea would fly in this case.

Something about this denial seems to also be part of a missing piece.
I think CA has lived in denial for so long that she is numb to what may be normal or weird.
that much denial can result in the kind of anger we see her emoting with.

She's not on denial. She KNOWS she lies, steals, and killed her child. If she was in denial, she'd be lying to herself. Instead, she lies to everybody else.

She's a sociopath. She knows what she's doing, she knows it's illegal and wrong.

She doesn't care.

Other people don't count. It's all about KC getting what KC wants for KC. No denial. No break from reality. Just selfishness, lawlessness, and narcissism.

I seriously doubt that. The MMPI-2 has validitiy scales, they can tell when someone is faking- for the most part (I know they can't catch 'em all). I also believe she had 2 different doctors evaluate her. IMO Casey is pretty transparent- they would see her as she is.

Yep! AND, she's not bright enough to lie coherantly. She lies a LOT, but her stories don't hang together. They're stupid, unbelievable lies-- not well thought out, believable ones. WE can tell that she's lying, from a distance. Imagine what the SHRINKS can see, close up and personal!

I don't think she could fool one shrink, let alone two.

Honey, there were TWO thorough evaluations. And, as OLG pointed out, no psych meds were prescribed.

Having worked on the forensics unit at Chatahoochee, Fl State Hospital, as well as several Fl jails and prisons as a health care professional for several years, I can add:

1. This defendent in no way, shape, or form is eligible for consideration of Florida's tough NGRI guidelines.
2. She will NEVER get out of protective custody once sent to prison, probably Lowell. She would not last a day in general pop and Fl DOC will avoid a wrongful death suit from the a clan. It will be a very bleak existence. Her jail days will seem sweet as a honeymoon.

I looked it up. It's Lowell Correctional Institution, IIRC.

but I do have 18 years of experience - I stand by this.She won't qualify by Florida standards
for insanity because she does know right from wrong.
HOWEVER:
There is some very deep damage here...I do not care if psych meds were or were not prescribed.
Not every thing has a pill.

1- Will we find out who Caylees Daddy is?
2- Will we find out how GA really lost his money?
3- Why is anyone paying for this fiasco? what is their
involvement
4- Hopefully LE is holding things close to the vest that we
still do not know.
5- Will we find out if Casey left Caylee with unsavory crowd.

Mmhmm, thanks for sharing! No doubt prison will suck but state hospitals suck worse, IMO. I don't know about Florida but in the state I spent time in, I'd much prefer jail/prison over a locked ward in a state run facility. ugh, they all suck but I'm done with crazy, I'm telling ya what! LOL

"Insanity" in the corrections system does. That's the point I have been trying to make. When you are in the system and you are "insane".. that keeps them from being able to bring you to trial, you get a pill or five. Like it or not, SongLine, It's how it works! So maybe you should care that she's not on meds because the fact that she is on NO meds speaks very loudly about her psych evals even though we have not been able to see them for ourselves.

They want you sane, they want you held accountable for the things you have done, they want to see that you are punished for the crimes you committed, They do everything in their power to make you "sane" and in the system that means drugs. Yum. Haldol, Seroquel, Zyprexa, Risperdal, Clonidine, Orap, Trazadone, Halcion, Klonopin, Xanax, Thorazine (not such much these days but they still use it some) and these are just the good pills they try ya on (well, good for those who enjoy getting rid of their psychosis and getting a high at the same time).
