Just a note to let u know that anyone who is in jail has the right to purchase things that we do. The only difference is they pay 2,3,4 times the anount we pay for the same bag of chips, drinks, food, or any other products they sell to inmates. Some have small t v that the inmate has to pay 3oo.oo to 5oo.oo dollars for the same thing we can buy at walmart for 99 dollars. They seen to have more rights than we on the outside do, they pay for this luxury that we take for granted. I am not against them getting food that is available to them, but they have done the crime and now they can pay for their crime.

When I was a child I spent every summer at my Grandparent's farm. Every year there was a chain gang working on the road or the swales out front. I recall it being like a scene from Cool Hand Luke. There were a couple of trucks of prisoners chained together at the ankle. The guards had shotguns. One year the prisoners repaved the road, every other time I saw them they were cleaning out the ditch or cleaning up the common area. Thinking back, this was an excellent pasttime for criminals--hard labor. IMO, if hard labor still existed, there would be far fewer criminals in detention.

These days...the only ones that get the opportunity to work that roadside labor...are the ones that are the best behaved and at low risk for making a run for it or the kids that are having to do community service time as part of probation. Kind of backwards, though I wouldn't want the prison gang working near my house or kids.

I wouldn't mind a prison gang working around me IF the officers had big guns and IF they were actually allowed to use them.

Seems like these days it's impossible to have any reason to shoot a bad guy. It's not worth the risk for LE because they lose their job, get slammed by the press and sued or go to jail.

Granted there's been some bad cops that have made this so, but it's a shame.

I Love Sheriff Joe.

Bring back the chain gang.

Forget Casey getting to sit around and eat snacks and watch TV - let's get her sorry butt to work.

It's a dream, but wouldn't it be fitting if Dopey spent the rest of her short life picking up black garbage bags dumped at the side of the road. Thoughts might actually flicker across her brain as she picked each one up?

One of the best ideas to grace these pages, Hercule...Oh, how I wish this idea could be implemented.

They should be rich by now, they have made money on TV, people mag, etc....they were strapped before when kc was around....smooth sailing now.........and not let's forget the foundation

OT: they bought a new car July 08....anyone know what happened to the green SUV? if so you can pm me so not to get OT, Thanks

I need to go on a self- timeout....be back later.

Very interesting that they have now gotten rid of their dark green SUV. Does this ring any bells for anyone else? :waitasec:

OT but what kind of car did they buy? Anyone know? Thanks!

Based upon reading some of the post here, I would say that some of that money was given by those who believed her innocent.

As far as how I feel about it... I feel sad. She isn't the only woman in that jail who needs funds. Many who, just like her, are waiting for their court date. Who might not have the money, funds, etc.. to bond out. Such folks will have no money in their accounts. Yet, there Casey sits.. Not only does she have family donating, she has strangers.

No matter what she is accused of doing, George is still her father. I would expect him and CA to still care what happens to Casey. Love should be unconditional.

I have no doubt the GA & CA loved Caylee.
And they knew early on that ******killed her. They have had that confirmed more and more as time goes on. GA is donating money to her murderer? What about his love for Caylee?

A silly question: do you (or anyone) know if they get to use electrical outlets or are their TV's and radio's battery operated? TIA!

You answered your own question. You know he loved Caylee. So why are you asking me?

A Parents love should be unconditional. IT doesn't mean approving of everything they do. Or loving everything to do. It means loving and caring for the person.

Sadly, some folks think that love should be conditional. Like how some think that a family should lie for someone or protect time to PROVE their love. That is 'conditional.' love. Some believe that love can be with-held as payment/punishment. That isn't love. It's also bad parenting.

Love is unconditional. It dosn't stop because a person wills it to be gone. It just is. The bond stays.

Just because GA loves Casey, doesn't mean he stopped loving Caylee.

Somewhat naive?

For all intents and purposes to GA, Caylee was his child and KC was her older sister.

I think unconditional love for Caylee would/should involve hate and desire for punishment for her killer. Perhaps conflict of two "loves" but with one grinning and unremorseful, and the other a defenceless infant, I think the dilema should resolve itself.

I think it's a disgrace that inmates can purchase stuff like that. Prison should be a punishment..someplace where you can't do the things you love to do at home. This includes not being able to watch your favorite tv shows, listen to music, and eat snacks. IMO she is getting to do exactly what she did at home for all those years. I'm just waiting until the day where she can order booze and a male escort..*sigh*

The notion that some prisoners can buy a more comfortable time in prison seems unamerican to me? Sounds like Britain in the middle ages with the poor suffering the degredations of prison while the well-to-do could by favours?

One of the worse things about divorce is what parents do to their children. Who expect their child to see the other parent as a 'bad' parent. Then they make the child feel bad, because he/she loves BOTH their parents. Even with all their faults, etc. The child still loves the parent.

Yes, it's rather Somewhat naive to think that unconditional love would end, based upon conditions. That would rather mute the point of it being unconditional.

Should be punishment. But it's more about rehabilitating the inmate these days. Being able to buy things is considered a reward of sorts for being good.

Kinda interesting. Jails work on punishment/reward system. They have to learn to follow rules, authority, etc.. and get rewarded or punished based upon it.

While parents are busy teaching their kids that they do not have to respect authority. Are allowed to do/say as they please. Do not have to work, etc..

If the parents are not going to do the teaching.. guess where they will learn it...

What you see as "unconditional love" is part of what got us into this mess.

Perhaps "unconditional" is not at all healthy!

If GA's "love" means he wants to lessen Dopey's hardship as much as possible, then by extension he would like to see her free altogether? Wonder if he'd want her to baby sit his new grand daughter to be?
