Jeez this article was a mess!
http://www.wftv.com/news/16924162/detail.html

A strong smell led investigators to focus on an Orange County parking lot and a car that was found there.

The car was parked in a lot near State Road 50 and Goldenrod Road (see map) for a few days earlier this week. A business owner had it towed and it turned out to be Caylee's grandparents' car, one the toddler's mother drives.

The pair says they have faith in their daughter and are paying for her attorney.

It's also where cindy is the one who claims the shovel=bamboo theory. Cindy gives out the "stories" and casey gets them in jail through the TV. Great mother-daughter communication skills.

I could be wrong, but I believe that even in giving up your rights to the child, you are still FINANCIALLY responsible for them until the reach the age of majority or are legally adopted. Until the child is legally adopted, I believe you are just giving up your rights to SEE and CARE for them on a daily basis. Can you just imagine how many parents would "relinquish their parental responsibilities" for their teenage monsters if it was that easy?! Maybe this is different for newborns...IDK?!

Not in this case here in TX.......unwed mother ( No father) signed *Relinquishment* & baby was gone (also a blank space for *new parents*)........I always thought this doc. could easily cover up baby selling.

Haha i didn't even know that the inaccurate media discussion had even started.

If CA gets out, how in the world will the family and the BH work together if they constantly contradict each other? Lee and the rest of then want to stick to the ridiculous Nanny theory, as if that puts Casey in a good light. The BH has already said she she's a tweaker who misplaced her child, who now may have been sold; that she stupidly left her and knows who has her. In a CNN interview yesterday, BH guy lumped CA in with the 2% dark side/criminal population he's been dealing with for 10,000 years and knows well. He said they live in an alternate universe to ours, and think giving away your child for a few days and losing track of them is okay. Knowing this sort of person, he thinks her can get her talking. Cindy and Lee must love this. What a zoo.

It's a different spin every day, but the BH seems to be contradicting the Mother of the Year theory that Cindy was stating the last 2 weeks.

About this bamboo/shovel deal... IIRC, Casey was already shacked up with Tony by the time this borrowing occurred... so we are to believe (I know, I know) that Casey just decided to show up at her parents out of the kindness <ahem> of her heart and spruce up the ol' back yard? WTF?

Yes. It is not only the players changing the facts, but the filtering through the news media is also a grave concern. If the news media messes up this story this badly, it makes me wonder if anything I hear from them on any story -- election politics, international affairs, domestic mortgage crises, gas prices etc., is also so far off from the real story based on facts.

Agreed. For instance, you'd think we have Armageddon here in Fla when TS or hurricanes blow through. It adversely affects tourism and economy for months AFTER the event is over.

Also, local channels have changed from top story of "Where's Caylee" for 10-12 minutes to "All Day All Fay" for the first 20 mins. Don't get me wrong--people need to be aware, just not deluged (pardon pun). How many reporters do we really need to see getting blown around? Lotta bang for the network buck IMO!

The Hard Rock casino is in Tampa, just off of I-4, and Florida has various dog tracks, jai lai, and the lottery. I know someone that was addicted to scratch off tickets. Stole from work, they caught him, he lost his job and actually spent time in jail for it. From what I hear, its very much like alcoholism and you can't kick it.

She doesn't even have to "go" anywhere to gamble. There's always online gambling.

But it strikes me, if she was in fact a gambler, or addicted to anything, she'd do anything to get out of jail and get her fix.

You know what I would like to know more about, Checkda? What Tony and Amy told LE about the situation when Amy took Cindy to get Casey at Tony's apartment. Both Tony and Amy are running from the press and will not speak. It makes me highly suspect and I think they both have a key that we are missing. I wonder why the press doesn't seem to be enticing them to talk?

I've wondered about Amy, Ricardo and JP - they seem to have disappeared off the face of the Earth - I guess I don't wonder too much about Tony, only as he'd known Casey such a short time.......

LE really needs to step up the pace, get the forensics done, and charge Casey with homicide. This case being in constant limbo will not help find Caylee, or bring justice to Casey.

Speaking of which, isn't Casey due back in court on Friday (21st) on the original charges?

Yes she is and the 21th is Thursday..so not too many days left if the Padillas were only intending to devote 1 week to this case. I imagine most of Thursday will be taken up with the hearing , travel arrangements to and fro, and Wednesday certainly her attorney will want to meet with her before court the next day.

I hope Amy, Ricardo, JP, TonE, et al, are cooperating with LE & keeping their tramps SHUT as not to impede the investigation . . . the most damning evidence except Cindy stating the car smelled like there was a dead body in the damn car is Casey lack of concern for Caylee's whereabouts for weeks

IMHO

I have also wondered about this. I'm thinking maybe its possible that LE has asked them to keep what they have told them or what they may know to themselves for now. It makes sense to me that they wouldnt want the defense to know as much as them (LE) at this point.

That was a newborn baby...I can see how that could be done, but Caylee was almost 3...it would have been harder for her to just "accept" her new family. She'd want to go home to what was familiar to her.

My favorite headline so far:

Casey May Be Released, Bounty Hunter Says "She’s Going to Have To Trust Someone"

So.. she can't trust the police, the FBI, or her family.. but she's going to tell Padilla and her bodyguard information.

I'm so sick of having my intelligence questioned in this case.

Actually - I can see this happening. Very odd to the normal human, I know. But - I don't think Casey thinks like the normal human. She can't trust LE because they will convict her rear, and she know it. She can't trust/face her family (I think this is more about control then anything). So, she is faced with stangers. She doesn't know these people, they say they believe her. She can just keep spinning. Back in the very beginning of this case, someone said that generally such liars will base their lies on some portion of the truth. Maybe this BH guy has enough experience, he can figure out what the "truths" are in the middle of the spin.

I'm seeing this whole thing as a game. I'm even thinking at this point, LE might not think it is such a bad idea. They haven't gotten anywhere, her family hasn't gotten anywhere. If LE really doesn't want this to happen, I think there will be new charges coming down the pike. If we don't see that, then I'm thinking LE is hoping something will come from it all.

I am also seeing some real ethical issues on the part of CA's attorney here if he really was instrumental in bringing in the BH. Such a circus, but it sure is interesting.

LOL Where have you been?! We have been kvetching about this for a long time.

The fact checkers in the media have taken leave and been replaced with (as near as I can tell) kids out of college who can't spell, can't look up things that are not on the internet, and have no journalistic integrity. I used to think that teaching this key factor was of utmost importance, but now I see that teaching how far you can push the envelope to skirt the truth has become more the standard.

So true! Makes one wonder How uninformed ARE we?

You really do need to add Tony to that list because Casey was at his apartment when Cindy and Amy went to find Casey. He's been so evasive he's ran into a bathroom to get away from Craig Riveras questions, then threatened to sue. He wasn't happy about his roomie giving the interview, nor were some of his friends on MySpace, in fact one was threatening the roomie. I don't think someone would get this worked up if they just wanted
to distance themselves from this. He and Amy got in touch with LE immediately when this broke and have shut the press out after speaking with them, that tells me theres something critical in their interviews.

As for Ricardo, someone asked last night if he ever came back from Puerto Rico. I missed the fact that he even went, but if he did go, perhaps thats why we haven't heard from him.

Same here.:bang:
They are going round and round in circles IMO.The people around Casey.

When a father relinquishes all parental rights, he is no longer required to pay child support. The mom is "on her own". It has it's advantages. The father has no visitation rights, nor any say in where the baby is allowed to go. This is from the state of Virginia. All states may not be the same.

JMO.

What concerns me is all of the attention she will be getting from the media if she gets out. Especially once she is able to talk without being recorded and spin her lies. I can see her coming up with some more rediculous scenarios to gain some sympathy, even if she is not the one saying anything, we know that all she has to do is tell her mom and she will do the spinning for poor Casey. Wouldn't it be great if the media would ostracize her and her family and just stick to the info they are getting from outside sources. God knows that everything they say is insubstantial anyways. The only way it will do any good to listen to them is the slim chance that they will slip up and do or say something incriminating. Given Casey's assumed narcissistic tendencies lack of attention when combined with the defacing attention of seeing her life and lies picked apart, she no doubt will lose it in some shape or form. I am not necessarily hoping for her or anyone else to suffer or "lose it", I guess I just don't think she deserves to be fed with attention.
