OT: Thank you. Lived in the high desert of Cali for many years and never heard of them. I guess that is a good thing. Now, I live in a tiny town in east TX. Just the other day, while I was at the Dollar General, I saw a guy on a bike with a "Cossacks" jacket on. Sounded familiar to me. Come to find out, his MC gang/club was involved with a shootout with the Banditos in Waco. I sure wanted to ask him some questions! I love to hear people's stories. He probably would have told me, off old lady. LOL I admit, I became rather infatuated with bikers after I watched that old series "Sons of Anarchy".

I can't imagine how the McStay's loved ones are coping with this.

Well actually, I can imagine. And it's not good. Stark, sleepless nights filled with a sick, electric energy. Endless days they walk through in a semi-zombie like state.

My heart goes out to them.

Is dad/grandpa not out here already?

I hope victim's services are helping the family with costs.
I spoke with Patrick earlier and he's still here in California. He's as frustrated as the rest of us about the delay but it is what it is. All things considered, Patrick seems to be in good spirits and is trying to stay busy until Monday but is looking forward to getting back home.

This'll give you a laugh. Someone I know used to hang with some bikers when he was young (as in five decades ago or so). One of them belonged to "Los Vagabondos," and he used to jokingly refer to them as "Lost bag of laundry."

The insider said the delay is to give family time to get there. If the verdict had happened in the middle of the week, it’s possible it could have been read the next day, but not when it’s a Friday. The jury has no control over whether the family is available immediately. It’s possible Patrick had to go home to TX for something urgent or someone is sick or, or, or....in any case, this delay until Monday was the family’s call apparently.
The delay was not up to the family. Apparently 2 jurors had to leave early today, thus waiting until Monday.

I would like to know what was so important it could not wait.
Like I think they should have had to justify their reason for the family.
I guess that explains why they came in early!
They should have just skipped today, come in Monday AM and announced they had a verdict. Then announced it 2 hours later.

School graduations seem to be the obvious choice so far.............

I feel it was wrong to even announce a verdict on Friday. Knowing it would not be revealed until Monday.

If everyone didn't know this then we would think deliberations would continue on Monday.

The Jurors IMO are in no more danger now than before.

I doubt any will change their minds. They took enough time to reach a decision.

All IMO, JMO, MOO

Maybe they had kids graduating today? I wouldn't skip that either if it was me.

I was just repeating what verified insider Roundhouse stated...that the delay until Monday was so that family could get there for the verdict. I assume Roundhouse is accurate because s/he was with a family member yesterday. But if you have another inside source....?

Are any of our members planning to be there Monday?
Umm...err, I'm considering flying over from NZ since we now have a three day wait instead of the original TWO HR wait!!!

IMO it's cruel to do to the families. The families have been waiting 9 years, they couldn't wait 2 hours?:mad:

I didn't follow that. Can you give me a synopsis?
Wallace said he was taking the 5th & if called as a witness would take the 5th.
The mitigation specialist /investigator described Mr Wallace approaching the DT leaving on Wed to ask about approaching Jurors for interviews . She describes the complete discussion so worth the read..
McGee can’t recall exactly because his memory has been affected by his illness from that time.
Maline said there was no court order so technically no charge & that they didn’t know Wallace would do that.
Another atty(?) said there were many meetings with Wallace & film crew present when it was made clear they weren’t to film or talk jurors . I think he was the one who said any reasonable person would know not to approach the jurors or alternates .
ETA : Wallace asked DT mitigation specialist Wed & approached the alternates Thurs .

It seems a likely scenario that waiting until Monday is to accommodate the family.

The snarky comments here about the jury have been pretty disheartening. So many conclusions drawn without having all the facts. Reasonable questions and criticisms of the court’s handling of a case are one thing, but some people here act like the trial should be tailored to the desires of followers of the case, like it’s a reality show. Everyone who has been following this case is impatient, that only makes sense, but if there is a reason it’s better to wait until Monday, that’s okay too.
Weyden I think people reacted in a certain way due to the tweets the last few days. Jurors starting at 1:30, scanty hours of deliberation, laughing on the way to lunch.
That's all we had to go on.
