I want to go to Durango for a nice long walk around McDonalds and anywhere I think might be worth walking around now....If the weather holds up, I just might.

I really don't think that whether they went to McD's or not makes a difference because what happened obviously happened after 8:01 and probably on their way home. (other than to show MR was telling the truth or lying) I think they probably did go eat. Why would he lie about that when as far as he knows McD's has security camera's?

MR's story of the events after 8:01pm Sunday and the following morning are just not jiving. I never like to think a parent would do something to their child and often I am irritated on here that so many are quick to jump to that conclusion. In this case it is quite obvious to me though. I don't think anything was premeditated or preplanned. I think after MR told Dylan he couldn't go to the friends that night an argument ensued.

Just reading along and it made me start thinking. I wonder what MR's life back in the woods was like? Did he have buddies that stopped by the house now and then. Have a few beers together or was he mostly a loner.

I am thinking and wondering if anybody dropped by MR"s house Sunday night. Maybe spent the night and offered DR a ride to his buddies home..never to be seen again.

It's never been asked and never been mentioned but I really wonder if anybody else was at that house that night and maybe even stayed the night!

Why would MR cover up for the actions of another? I'm pretty sure if there was another person involved, we would have heard that story from the beginning. I find this theory very doubtful and full of holes.

I have two children, so I'm quite aware of what they need. AGAIN, I did NOT state ER wasn't using child support money appropriately. I said in MY experience with people I know, more ofthen than not the $$ is going toward things having NOTHING to do with the child's well-being.

Are we not allowed to discuss both sides?

Why would there be two sides on this issue? There is absolutely no grounds for speculation that ER may have misused the CS. We don't even know if she was receiving CS. Mark's history would suggest that he may not have been paying it even if ordered.

The problem with this theory is obviously if that were the case MR would have told LE and everyone this to save his own butt from scrutiny.

One BIG difference in Jessica Ridgeway's case is that her remains were found by two civilian trash service workers fairly quickly, and LE found the pentagram close by, which gave them a clue to finding the perp.
Sometimes these cases are solved by sheer luck. If those workers had not spotted the remains when they did, they might not have solved the case until another child went missing, and maybe not even then. Now that Lyric and Lizzie's remains have been found, they might be able to solve that case now as well.
Skills and good equipment help, of course. But it makes a huge difference when they have a body to work with.

I think the item LE found in the Jessica Ridgeway case was a wooden cross. Instead of keeping that information close to the vest, they released it to the public...including a photo of the cross. That decision led them straight to the killer. The mother of the perp saw the photo and called authorities.

I think LE should learn from this that releasing info to the public is becoming more and more helpful in capturing criminals. Take Holly Bobo's case...where LE (and that danged TBI...they are close to worthless in most cases, sorry to say and forgive me but I'm so fed up with them) has released almost nothing. They won't even release the various 911 calls. I think this has hurt that case tremendously and it has grown cold.

To be fair, that's not a direct quote of Mark saying they went to eat and to buy groceries at WalMart. That's a reporter paraphrasing, and he/she could have switched the order Mark mentioned they occurred in.

Agree.... I do think we have to note, however, that there are now TWO "reported" and "unconfirmed" sequence of events here - MR's version and a reporter's version. It's probably best if we just acknowledge that since there hasn't been any formal confirmation one way or the other, we should just file BOTH versions away in the back of our mind for future reference. JMO

I wish there were times listed for the above texts in between the 8:01 and 9:27pm text. Ryan thought Dylan would be awake at 9:27 so it's pretty obvious that Dylan falling asleep early is out of character. Also if Ryan texted at 6:46am Dylan definitely would have responded if he could have. I think all these theories about Dylan's phone dying or the battery going out etc etc are just ridiculous. What are the odds of that happening AND this child going missing at the same time. Something happened to Dylan after his last text to Ryan on Sunday night. I sure wish Dylan would have said why his Dad wouldn't let him go that night.

Off topic, sorry, but OMG...between Holly's case, Karen Swift's case and Megan Sharpton's case I'm about to make a call to the Feds to ask them if they can step in due to TBI/LE incompetence. :banghead:

LE knows exactly what time they were in Walmart. I wish they would tell us so we can compare that to when Dylan was texting Ryan starting at 8:01pm. And if they have proof that they were or weren't at McD's it would be nice to know that too. Like I said I would think MR would think that could be proven so I don't see him lying about that.

I would like to know this too. While Dylan was texting Ryan his phone was obviously on and working so I would think LE has pings. And I would think they have pings on Dad's phone too. Surely they can narrow this down some? When Dylan's phone quit pinging where was Dad's phone pinging? They must know much more than we do!

We only know he agreed to relinquish his rights to his older children in order to avoid his child support obligations.

I want to start from Walmart, if we knew what time they were there we could come up with a possible radius to when Dylans phone stopped pinging.


we know LE wanted video from between 6pm sunday night and 12pm monday

I still think around his work depot, the animas river and nighthorse are the main places to seach.
