I won't argue that parents have arranged for children to be sent out of the reach of another parent before, but I still cannot see MR having any such persons who cannot be found by LE. In most cases, including the 5-year old recently in the news when he was found many years later, it was always known he was taken by his grandparents, just not where they were.

I fear some of MR's possile Intenet relationships. :furious:

Has there ever been a case where a person went missing and was abducted by a stranger and that abductor integrated themselves into the family? Example: Tom was abducted by Mike. Mike then went and helped in searches, took missing persons family to dinner, became close friends to family. Etc. (all made up names)

Thank you

I remember the case of the little girl in Georgia, but can't remember her name. Her abductor/murderer helped with the searches and she was ultimately found to be killed by him. I believe he even went door to door searching. He was arrested and then later hung himself in his cell.

I am sure there are plenty of other cases out there, as perps do tend to try to get close to the investigation. Not sure if they've ever gotten THAT close, as to be having dinners, etc..with the family.

Thank you. I have said it before, I am 90% sure on who did it. Its the 10% that is making me think outside the box. :)

Personally, I don't think it is necessary to sleuth MR AND his possible Internet relations. JMO.

Well I hope LE is sleuthing every person he has ever come in contact with, if they believe the answer lies with him.

I'm even more of a stickler, I guess. I saw Dr Phil say it was only a "portion" of the statement, so I emailed Bender for the complete statement, and clarification on whether the statement Dr Phil gave following what was on the screen was from LE. <shrug> :seeya:

Awesome! Now that you've made contact, can you just email him back and ask what that 9:37 txt said? TIA ~

Well, she certainly gave him more freedom than a lot of 13 year olds have, he was accustomed to wandering around all day and then calling her to tell her where he was "landing" at night. I can't see her being all that concerned with knowing what t.v. channels he was watching. She makes it sound like MTV was the ONLY thing he ever watched, but I've seen several parents on here saying it's way too explicit and they don't let their own kids that age watch it. I have no idea because I've never watched it myself. Was she with him 24/7? Can she absolutely swear that he NEVER watched Nick channels? NO, she can't. I'm not bashing her one bit, but that is just unrealistic to make that kind of claim.
I could sit here and say that none of my boys ever looked at *advertiser censored*, but in truth, I never SAW them do it, but I can't say they NEVER did.

I bet this "wandering" around thing was probably a summer thing, maybe weekends. I doubt Dylan was out and about every day of the week year round. Maybe ER did let Dylan "run wild", but to me, it sounds more like a normal phase of growing up. When my daughter was this age, she and her friends would sometimes move from one house to another, all in the neighborhood or have impromptu sleepovers. She always called.

My parents never censored what I watched or read. I did the same with my daughter. I realize that is not everyone's policy, but I figured her taste would reflect her maturity level, and it worked out fine for us. Now Dylan could have watched NICK at friends' homes where parents had stricter guidelines, but ER would be in the best position to know what his preferences were if he had more choices. All MOO

Did we ever hear any more about the tip in regards to the Hispanic man who was said to have been in the area at the time of Dyl's disappearance?

Yep. Found by LE.

9Wants to Know also learned from investigators this week that they found a man that they were seeking as a potential witness to Dylan's disappearance on Nov. 19. However, he was not able to provide any new information to help the case.

Does anyone know much or use a CB radio ? I've got a few questions and am googling, but not finding exactly what I want to know. Specifically has technology changed cb radio much? Like way back in the day, you could get on a private channel and no one anywhere else could hear it. We had loads of fun on road trips with the cb. But it seems with new advances that it would be almost impossible for there to be cb channels that cannot be' heard or listened' to by others IF they were so inclined, like LE. Could LE tap into a cb and hear all the channels or not? Gold star to the first answer ! :P

And you know, it isn't common or routine for a judge to speak to a child, privately, in chambers and then seal the record. It is usually an indication that there is something the child (or parent) has expressed concerns about. The judge may question the child to determine his/her feelings about the issue in an effort to decide if there might be any safety concerns.

Yes, very good point! And this is MOO but I really think this case got to that judge, maybe helping him decide to retire. JMO
