Some maybe assuming she attacked the officer from the backseat, but I think she tried to escape outside of the car/van by telling the officers she needed to use the bathroom and when they stopped at a rest area, outside the vehicle as she was being escorted to the public bathroom door is when she hit the officer (and tried to escape IMO).

I once stopped at a rest area on a long road trip, and had the unpleasurable experience of seeing a police vehicle and a policeman escorting a prisoner to the door of the bathroom. The male officer was escorting the male prisoner to the doors. I was so afraid of the situation that I didnt even leave my car as I saw what was happening. I stayed in my vehicle until they left. The male officer went inside with the prisoner after making sure nobody else was in the bathroom.

While I wholeheartedly respect your opinion, to believe they drive in silence the entire trip is in a way being naive. I support LE, I’m friends and family with LE and I would bet dollars to doughnuts the Deputies taunted her in one way another even if it was passive aggressively. Why? Because they KNOW the type they were hauling and she played right into their hands! Put it this way...do you think she attacked the officer for absolutely zero reason at all? Absolutely nothing happened along the ride but she got out of cuffs and decided to give blows to a LE officer for no reason. I know which scenario makes more sense in my head.

No one said they drove in silence the entire trip. The OP said she doubted the officers did anything intentionally to provoke her, given her recent history with accusations of mistreatment from LE. Also, while I certainly cannot speak for all LE, I know many and they most certainly do not "live to taunt people who end up in the back of their vehicles in cuffs" as you suggest. Oh yes, some do, I'm well aware of that. But many do not. Wearing a badge isn't license to act like a junior high bully.

Morning. Here for Gannon and his family.
Glad to read the post of the fine weather for the next several days. Thank you. Hope the narrowed search will find that child.
Been mulling over T attacking officer during transport. I feel that her being in cuffs is absolutely unbearable. She has a constant compulsion to run the show, as evidenced by her interviews and social media. She also has an inability to follow rules, as evidenced by her legal history. Now the poor thing is being forced to follow rules and has been told "no." She has fought against that her intire life.
Being able to slip out of the cuffs would have made her feel great, she outsmarted those officers! She could feel superior to them, if only for a moment. I don't think that she could resist, regardless of the cost.
Wouldn't make sense to the average person, but T is not average.
IMO

I agree completely. I believe it was you who commented on T's attack of the deputy with the following (paraphrased) comment:
SHE DECIDED TO FIGHT EXTRADITION.
Indeed...quite literally. Perhaps the long-suffering Judge's repeated explanations suddenly seeped into that evil-congested mind.

I hope I've attributed the quote correctly. Whoever said it won the internet for me and gave me a second's respite from the horrors of this case. I continue to be here for sweet Gannon and his loved ones.

I think she'll be a model prisoner. She needs to be around other people because she needs the narcissistic supply. So she won't do anything that would risk her getting sent to solitary.

She likely attacked the guard because she heard that stupid story about when you go to prison find the biggest guy in the prison and attack him to show the rest of the prisoners that you are tough and not to be messed with. But she knows if she attacked an actual prisoner they'd probably kick her butt. So she attacks the deputy knowing he's not likely to really attack her back but just attempt to subdue her.

It's all manipulation. She'll be fine in prison. I bet she'll have the time of her life messing with people and charming people and manipulating. It's where she belongs. The same way Jodi Arias is fine in prison.

I disagree. Jodi is an entirely different person. Jodi is calculating and can maintain composure. She was doing freaking handstands. She isn't reactive like TS. Jodi is an entirely different type of scary that will smile and stab you at the same time.

As far as the beat up someone story? I doubt that was her motivation for attacking an officer. She was most likely mad at perceived mistreatment not as some ploy for street cred.

I not saying this on her behalf because Lord knows I wish someone would have held her down and beat the truth out of her but...

My son has been on many transports and a few with Marshalls transporting back someone that they wanted back really fast and he said that if it has to do with a child they will talk down to the prisoner or call them child killers or whatever, I mean they are human and cant stand those kind of people, if driven back by federal marshalls they have a way to turn the camera off and on if they want too,
Its the real world out here people, I don't think I could stay quiet with her sorry butt in the vehicle with me.....but even so.....she still has no reason to attack anyone.....and all it got her was a night in Kansas and another charge!!!

It's funny because NPDs also have this self righteous indignation if someone else isn't doing their job "professionally." She would have been outraged that LE wouldn't follow the rules and behave professionally and shocked. Bet next time we hear from her she'll unload all the "insider information" about how poorly the systems are run and how unprofessional and unlawful LE is behind the scenes.

It almost makes me chuckle to think about them just ignoring her as she ranted at them in the back of the car. I bet she was furious.

Lots of catching up this AM, and some thoughts. I'm responding to a good bit of what I read, but don't want to quote everything...

*WHERE IS GANNON? This still breaks me. I know his family needs closure but I am increasingly worried about his condition. :( It is bad enough to have your child murdered but to never ever be able to lay eyes on him again and have a proper burial....I just can't....

*I am getting better emotionally, finally. Grief is a process, we all know. But yesterday I cried less, was able to take a walk with my dog and begin to feel normal-ish. Today the sun is FINALLY out and that has helped tremendously. I've started getting back to my "normal" life. I've only had to hold back tears once today, but I have had to ask the Lord to stop my mind wandering a couple of times. I try to channel the sorrow into rage. Hey--I'd rather feel mad than sick with sadness.....

*I am SO SO glad she is behind bars and ROTS there, but the petty, nasty side of me is sad that we won't have access to any stories about her there. I want to know every fight she gets into, every injustice (in her mind) and every injury she gets. I want to know she is MISERABLE. I hate her so much right now. Not healthy, but it will pass with time.

* I can totally see LE taunting her a bit. Nothing overt, but maybe things like, "Hey you know, my little 11 year old nephew and I went to the Sonic movie last weekend..." just little things like that. Maybe not directed TO her but small digs in conversation with one another. I hope so. I hope someone gives her crap every second of every day.

*Will be praying over this family this weekend for the memorials. I hope (and know) they will be surrounded by LOVE and LIGHT. They have been so strong, I admire them so much. I'm still so amazed at Landen's statement at the presser. So strong. I know the Lord uses evil for good and I pray she finds an amazing purpose out of this horror.

Agreed. However my very own husband was arrested several years ago in El Paso county and said he was “taunted” by the arresting officers. He had a small amount of marijuana, in a legal state, and was told how “he’s gonna pay and how out of staters think they can come to Colorado and smoke weed wherever they want and disgrace our beautiful state, on and on and on. My husband is a law abiding, professional and was appalled at the treatment he received on his “ride”. Ended up being a misdemeanor ticket he paid a fine and was released in a matter of hours.

Your husband wasn't at the center of an extremely high-profile case. Even cops who'd be tempted to do such a thing tend to really watch themselves when they know they're on something getting national attention.

She WILL NOT like having to face Gannon's Family in Court.
She will be able to feel the burning hate and the eyes on her. Cant wait.
An added plus ..I imagine she will look like an even hotter mess then she already does by the time this goes to court. No sunglasses for you.

I think it will bother her to see Al and Landon sitting side by side and supporting each other. In her mind, he is HERS and now Landon has him in her corner. I feel that will enrage her.

yea, me too......I bet she thought she could pile up in the back and talk anyway she pleased and curse and give orders and was actually surprised when they told her just what she was and was not going to do...lol....

People who have never dealt with someone with narcissistic traits may not realize that one of the most enraging things you can do is ignore their provocations. It is hard to learn to do. It is called "grayrocking" on one prominent Internet forum. When a person who is a confirmed button pusher finds they can no longer push buttons, it is very frustrating.

I was half joking but it wouldn't surprise me. She's done a lot of what she thinks are clever moves. (Interview with back to camera so no one could read her face.) But I do think she lost her temper.

Both Jodi and LS are NPDs Jodi's just younger and more attractive so that's how she manipulates and her tool to use. LS probably acted just like JA when she was younger and thinner and more attractive.

The point is that they belong in jail and actually thrive there because they literally have people forced to deal with them all the time. It's permanent supply of narcissistic supply and it's probably easier for them to deal with than it would be for a decent healthy person.

Yeah, she's not going to be able to answer to charges in KS and they wouldn't extradite her out of CO to do so. At this point, it would just be a waste of resources. If she's never charged, though, I wonder if the incident can be raised during the murder trial.

She doesnt need to be charged even this year, just before the statute of limitations. They filed a report and don't need to pursue it now. They can also charge and drop while preserving their right to reopen in the future.

it is but I can almost bet that people with that disorder also don't like to be talked down to or told what to do and IM sure she got plenty of that on her little scenic drive across Country.....lol

Boom.

Well shoot if there is no consequence for trying to Escape and Assault an Officer in the process of being escorted to another state..It's a wonder they all don't try it.
I realize it may not matter in the long run , but they still should face charges. There should be a way to it without having to go back to the State it occurred. ykwim?

Looks like 9News did their own verification that they stopped in KS after she attacked a deputy.

Letecia Stauch allegedly attacked deputy on drive to Colorado to face murder charges

During the cross-country drive to bring Stauch to Colorado following her arrest, she allegedly slipped out of her handcuffs and attacked a deputy who was part of the extradition team, 9Wants to Know has confirmed.

The deputies transporting Stauch stopped in Salina, Kan., on Wednesday so the deputy could seek medical treatment, and she was booked into the jail there and held until early Thursday morning, according to a source familiar with the incident.

Stauch was later driven to Colorado Springs and booked into the El Paso County Jail. The incident was first reported by KKTV in Colorado Springs.
