The neighbors camera is situated above the garage door pointed towards the street. I wonder if at that angle it could see inside a car if the window weren't tinted and it was a good quality camera.

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. -- One week after an 11-year-old El Paso County boy went missing, authorities received a new piece of evidence to further the investigation into Gannon Stauch’s disappearance.

FOX31 obtained a copy of this evidence that came from a neighbor's surveillance camera. Authorities have asked us not to describe or show it yet because it’s a part of their investigation. To ensure we don’t compromise anything in the search for Stauch, we are honoring the sheriff’s office request.

A few doors down, neighbor Roderrick Drayton did some investigating on his own.

“I couldn’t sleep so I just stayed up and I started looking through [surveillance footage],” Drayton said, adding, “I looked through on my tablet, then I said, 'Let me look on my TV to be sure.”

Police have asked us not to share what he found yet.

“This is something the investigators are looking into and it would be part of our investigation,” Kirby said.

Drayton took the footage to Stauch’s father, who immediately called detectives.

“He just broke down crying,” Drayton said.

Drayton says detectives were moved by the footage too.

“They said this is the break they needed,” Drayton said.

FOX31 asked the sheriff’s office if they are getting closer to finding answers Monday afternoon.

Looking at the surveillance time stamps from that news broadcast, it appears they show the minutes and hours around 10pm.

Now, assuming that’s when something big was caught on video, this would have to be Sunday night.

We know this because deputies arrived at approximately 10pm on Monday. So whatever happened, happened on Sunday night.

Now, assuming that’s when something big was caught on video, this would have to be Sunday night.

He has about 2.5 hours of detection there. What on earth was going on?

The only thing I can think is maybe the video showed maybe SM/SS leaving with GS, but not arriving back home with him in the car. Maybe they dumped his body (ugh that breaks my heart typing that) over by the on Las Vegas st. where the new command center was taken.

But then that gets me thinking if they saw him in the car, was he alive and well? Then why would they be taking so much evidence out being that he was probably killed somewhere else. Or does the camera how something lumped in the back seat. But then how does a ing camera pick up something in the back seat. Ugh I don't know

they be taking floor, walls furniture, they be in there with black lamps, blood spatter experts, though discredited now, largely... the works.
Whatever they saw made grown men cry, this will be worse than anyone expected.
Oh Jesus, how will they ever heal from this?
If there was an easy gentle way and a cruel way to do what might have been done I reckon the latter ..

But I'm searching for a prayer that will release his spirit from the circumstances of his probable death.
I'm always afraid murder victims spirits become trapped and unable to move on after death.

Unfortunately this doesn't look good. The crime unit was seen taking evidence from inside the home which leads me to believe they think something happened inside the home. The neighbor who was wearing an Air Force shirt said he shared information he foubd with the father and the father broke down.

Oh dear . That breaks my heart.

Hmm, if the camera showed what it looks like it would show from that angle, and it's such a huge immediate break, would it be a silhouette of him alive in the car sitting up which goes against her story? Would it be an image of him walking down the street? Wow, it's really intriguing. I suspect we'll hear within 24 hours - possibly an arrest too.

From the beginning, I've thought that Sunday was the critical day in the timeline r/t GS's disappearance.

I'm now convinced of it.

This is heartbreaking and I'm expecting answers/arrests in the coming hours maybe?

Did anyone else notice when fox21 Denver showed the quick stills from the neighbors surveillance footage that the images were all timestampsed between 9 and 10:15 p.m and it was clearly dark out. Also, looked to me like a white car could be seen in one of the stills they flashed. Was it maybe SM's daughters car? so, whatever happened, must have happened on Sunday night.

The poor dad broke down crying when he saw the footage and investigators were also moved when they saw it. It's the break they've been waiting for.

All of that info combined with CSI taking evidence from the house today tells me that there is no possible way this will have a positive outcome now. Can anyone think of any scenario where there could be a positive outcome? If so, please share, because I want to have hope. I really do.

The way the camera was positioned and how far away the house was, I’m pretty surprised that they were able to catch anything that is being considered the break they needed... I’m so glad that soon there will be answers and justice... so sad right now.
