Last night around 6:30 or so MT I clicked on the trial link and started watching and I am pretty sure it was a tape rather than live.

I suppose the channel 7 link must have put the tape of the trial on there for people like me that missed most of the day. I got to watch quite a bit of it. I saw where the professor came on after the 1 lady who was trying to save her kids.

This trial is interesting because the defendent is so strange.

The part that bugs me is having to waist so much taxpayer money and having to see all the families suffer through their testimony.
I suppose it is necessary to convict him but just wish these fools like him would just plead guilty to save everyone from having to go through a trial like this.

His mental aspect is the only real question in this trial. Since he showed all his planning beforehand, I think that is going to be his downfall.

I just feel so sad for the families having to suffer through this trial.
The lady yesterday did a great job and I give kudos to all the people testifying to try to put this guy away.

i agree with you, it's heart-wrenching watching them relive that night.....my heart goes out to them.....a life-changing event to be sure....for what it's worth, he did try to plead guilty for no death and it was denied.....i can see the reasoning from the prosecutor's point of view due to the mass destruction.....but i see your point, hugely expensive to prosecute him and then to follow-thru on a death penalty conviction as well for the state....

I've been AFK most of this trial (Jazz Festival in New Orleans :biggrin:) and now multiple rounds of houseguests.. :couch: for a while, then off to Charleston for vacation, so I really appreciate those posting throughout each day to catch up when I am :eek:fftobed:!

For me, this case is terribly sad.
I have no doubt JH is sick. His brain is sick. So sick that it drives him to kill.
Now, how should we as a society treat people suffering of this kind of sickness of which we know so little about?
The answer to this question is a huge challenge for the human beings we hope to be.
I'm struggling to find my answer to that question and thank you all very much for inspiring me on this search.
I am very sad for all the people killed and injured in this shooting, their families & friends.
I'm also sad for JH.
