I agree. I found it very offensive a couple of threads back for someone to say that he doesn't "look like he's playing with a full deck of cards". How RUDE. To those of us who have special needs children, please tell us HOW someone looks or doesn't look like this? My daughter for example, is a blond haired blue eyed absolutely beautiful girl! By looking at her photo, you would never in a million years guess that she has a disability, yet I'd guess she would fall within that person's opinion of "not playing with a full deck of cards". Please think about people's feelings before posting blatently rude and judgemental comments about others.

I did not read her comment like that at all. I have never understood the saying "not playing with a full deck of cards" to indicate anyone with a disability.

Unless he had the equipment or access to the necessary equipment or a reasonable facsimile to achieve this, then my guess is "not so much." If such a thing had occurred, LE would have known about that aspect of the case since they did have some of her remains.

Of course, it would have to be a very crude embalming. Not that there is much reason to think that such a thing took place. Only that he had an interest in mortuary science.

Yes, certainly LE would have known about it, but we would not.

Anybody had a chance to go through SmoothOperator's list of abduction attempts etc and see if any of them could be him?

Also, has it been made clear if the remains 'under the house' are from more than just Jessica?
I added a couple more to our list and actually had logged in to post it in the new thread this afternoon, but when getting here was greeted with the breaking news and had since then forgotten all about posting the list with the new additions.. So here it is attached below(thanx for reminding me to post it with the new add ons:) )

From what I read mom filed bancruptcy in May 2012. No news on brother.

Although brother is not to be sleuthed I can confirm a neighbor said AS has a younger brother that lived with AS and his mom. Don't know how old. She said the family moved in when younger brother was a baby.

Did someone post an article that noted police announce the neighborhood closed to public access for several days?

Westminster Police‏@WestminsterPD

The nghbrhood around 10622 W. 102nd Ave will be closed to all but residents for the next couple of days

It makes some sense now with the knowledge of what he was studying and obviously had an interest in (perverse morbid sickening repulsive), that he could've done some online ordering for class or personal projects. It wouldn't raise red flags necessarily to a parent if that's what their child was persuing as a career. I wouldn't be surprised if he has tools and supplies ordered from some CSI websites or the like. Maybe some of those items were even required for his classes?

He wore a cross in 2009. We don't know if the cross in that 2009 screen capture pic is "the" same cross that was found at one of the crime scenes. To me it does not look exactly the same.

They are saying he is a loner, hung out with very young girls.

OMG - He really did wear that around his neck.

I still cannot get past the fact that there is NO WEAR on the hole in the cross that LE showed. Even a short length of time being worn would make a mark. Unless it has been refinished, I don't believe the cross in that video could be the very same one.

ETA: lol, not that it matters in the long run if it is the same cross, it is incredible that sharp eyes spotted the cross he is wearing in the video. It certainly looks like the same type, if not the same one.

That's what I was wondering--was he hanging out with younger girls, or girls his own age? The girl that was interviewed seemed like she could be 17 to me.
The girl who looked like Jessica? Who said he always wanted to play Capture the Flag? As I recall, in the interview she added an explanatory modification, such as "years ago," or "when we were younger." Sorry, not an exact quote and no link, just from memory.

To the end (and the Dobson interview was either the day before or the night before he died), Ted Bundy had a knack for telling people what they wanted to hear.

Dobson wanted to hear the story of EveryKid who would have been normal had it not been for the evil influence of *advertiser censored* and that's exactly what he got.

Tell me about it.

I had the misfortune of hearing Dr Dobson's radio show many, many nights as I was growing up (my father was "listening"...aka not listening but if you turned the radio off he got annoyed). Not a fond memory.

It is possible that he's a born psychopath, no?

I say yes,.,.,.only guessing of course but I DO believe certain
people are born natural born killers. I think there is a missing
link somewhere and people with the need to kill with no purpose
are born that way.
imo

So reverse engineering this for a second. Do most people think that the Cops weren't really onto him and he may not have been caught had his he not talked to his mother. Knowing what we know now how could they have found him? Profile seemed wrong but once they had the DNA on the rag in the Kelser Lake case, then try to find people who purchase the material in that area? Once they didn't find anyone there go to other means in which people can quickly put them out. Formaldehyde is one. You then check to see how has access to that and find that one of the people in the area was studying to be a mortician.

I dunno, it seems to me like car starter fluid would be a lot easier to find than formaldehyde. I am not LE or associated with this case but I wouldn't be surprised if the police were thinking the same way.

I don't think LE was onto him specifically. It seems pretty clear that his mother had some questions and it unravelled from there.

Ive been reading about this for the past couple hours.
Im leaning towards LE NOT having a good idea this kid was the perp.
So to answer your question, his mom turning him in was what lead to
his arrest.
imo

MOO - they were expecting a middle aged man at first.

I just thought of something...

If something like this ever happened in my house, I'd want to move. I wouldn't be able to ever have another peaceful night's sleep again. It would devastate me as a mother, absolutely kill me. I'd have to sell. However, if a murder takes place in a house, the real estate agent has to advise the prospective buyer of the murder - this is in some states, not all. I can't even imagine the amount of stress building up in this family right now. Jesus. My gosh.

I don't think that's true in Colorado, because JonBenet's house has been for sale for years, and there's ZERO mention of a murder happening in that house on any of the real estate pages. Maybe they mention it when you're about to sign the papers...
