I like it in a weird way. It reminds me of usenet when the internet was young and no one thought about child friendly because no one in their right mind would allow a child to even touch a terminal in the big building with the glowing green screen and the huge, huge computer in it's own a/c environment.

Spam wasn't a problem back then because advertisers hadn't thought of it but there was a sort of frontier feeling to the place. It sure taught a lot of people what their boundaries were and how far they could push other people to conform.

Spent many an hour on the old usenet forums... Those were the days. Thanks for reminding me!
(And yes I love twitter, I bet it is because it does have a similar feeling to it)

I think I see one that says "Evidence"

in the presser the fbi spokesperson said they are using link analysis..

When I looked it up (it piqued my interest) I read that criminal link analysis is a sort of software that can take all the data and find relationships.

I am glad they are using all this sort of technology.

(the mention of link analysis was around the five minute mark on the presser)

awww the signs are in purple!

I see one of them says Canvas... can anyone read any of the others???

It appears the one in the same row as Canvas (to the left) says Evidence. Cant read the others.

I'm certain they used DNA to identify so her parents wouldn't have to see her and remember her like this. It doesnt mean her teeth and hands or anything else was gone.

The PIO previously stated that ID was delayed because she was not intact.

RIP Jessica.

I see a lot of posts praising LE...but the case hasn't been solved. Now, I know it takes time. But I have followed many cases where LE seemed to be putting tons of effort and resources into a case...and months/years later, it's still unsolved.

That is true. Unfortunately, not all cases are solved despite the effort. But the praise is for how hard they are working - whether it is solved or not, they are busting their butts on this case.
Also, I want to thank the officers/agents families. I am sure they have seen very little of their worn out, stressed out family member this week. Your sacrifice is appreciated!

Am I the only one who doesn't think there would be that many people working the case if they had a suspect in mind, and were going to make an arrest very, very soon? I think they are operating like a stranger did this; and all of Colorado is under suspicion.
It could be some one passing through, for all they know. However, going back to the Holly Jones case: [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Briere"]Michael Briere - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] If I remember correctly (a lot of information is now gone, and even this link has incorrect information) he was a suspect for an entire month before they were able to get a DNA sample and arrest him. They went door to door looking for her first, and the officer saw something out of the ordinary in the bathroom from the door way. Later, he refused to give a DNA sample, and they followed him until they got one (I think a soda can from public trash receptacle).

In that case, they had a suspect, it just took that long to get him.

As usual, I had an idea!

I'd be interested in knowing if someone who recently moved close to Jessica came from the area where the backpack was left (the house next door to her friend was just sold/bought in May, but I'm sure there are others). It's a long shot, again, but I was thinking that it could be a guy who was caught abusing his ~10 year-old blonde haired, blue-eyed daughter, and his wife kicked him out refusing to allow him to see the girl again (but never called the police because of embarrassment or some other weird reason.) It could be that JR reminded him of his daughter, but after abducting her, his anger at the daughter for telling on him took over. He may have killed her in a fit of rage, but actually calmed down before planning to dispose of the body and her belongings.

He may have left the backpack close to his ex-wife's house thinking in his sick mind that she'd know it was from him and she'd feel guilt for making him kill the girl. I haven't quite figured out why he would have done what he did to the body, but one extremely sick thought I had was that he wanted part of her as a reminder of his daughter. If nobody fits in either place, maybe it's someone who is moving to Superior from Westminster. Or maybe I just need to give it a rest for a while, I can't believe how moebid I'm getting.

Everyone should read the book called ' the gift of fear' and give it to teens to resd also. 10 is to young to read it, but maybe explaining. If something feels bad it probably is and RUN.

Don't know about the book...I will check it out but...

HUGE fan of teaching kids to listen to that little voice. Too often people have tried to talk themselves out of that nagging little voice's warning only to find themselves in danger.

This should be taught more than martial arts, imho.

It is my big lesson for my kids...listen to that little voice...always, without question. It is better to look silly than look dead.

Just my take on it and :twocents:....but with a WARNING...graphic.

Finding DNA would depend on how far the perp would go to cover it up....and how clinical. I believe this is one very sick individual, and the description that is being debated is more on the grotesque side, imo. He may have gone so far as to bath her before whatever he did to her to not have her body intact. Still maintaining control over her...after she had passed. Hate to put it this way...but having a clean slate to work with void of anything he may have done to her prior. The backpack being left in the open as well as her body is for attention and his own narcissitic continuance of the control as well as in "look what I did" and the belief he will not be found out. He may well have totally destroyed the rest of her remains...or 99% since he was making a statement with what has been found. It depends on his pathology on when he will mentally "leave" Jessica....and precede to control his next victim. All just IMO, JMO, etc. Whatever the case, he needs to be found....NOW.

From known info, it would be reasonable to conclude that investigators have the predators DNA and that it is not in the FBI CODIS database.

Imo, the predator is forensically aware, as well as aware of LE investigative & search strategies & SOPs..

'jurisdictional linkage blindness'...

Imo, this evil demonic predator is from another distant geographical area and resides in a jurisdiction other than Winchester, Arvada, or Superior...

'What a tangled web that we weave'...

Where in the World is Winchester, Colorado?

Ewww, stay away from creepy woods... Or maybe she could offer the compromise that she walks dog in daylight, adult walks dog after dark? Not perfect, but better. Oh, and I would hook a canister of pepper spray on the dog leash so she always has it. We can buy it in auto supply stores or (oddly) at Walgreens near us.

My family was like that but have come to realized now that they are older how the world really is out there. So many stories lately. Maybe you can buy her a whistle and put it on a chain. IDK if that will work though. These sicko's have taken our children example Somer Thompson our teenagers, Amber Dubois and adults Kristie Cormwell while just walking down the street. I guess you just have to be with someone, walk in pairs but I guess that doesn't always work either since the abduction of Lyric and Elizabeth. :banghead:

I'm sure the unsolved cases haunt the LE agencies involved.

I am grateful to see the attention Jessica's case has received. We're using the best resources we have, IMO. They are undoubtedly working ridiculously long hours and sacrificing a great deal personally to do so. They all have families, and for the ones with young children & grandchildren, cases like this must take a tremendous toll on them.

I could never do the kind of work under the circumstances they face on a daily basis. Yes, it takes time to solve cases & often even more time for a conviction. LE isn't just working for justice for Jessica and her family. They are doing all of this to protect other children and our communities.

Off soapbox now. JMO

I wonder how long they spent staging that picture to make sure it sent just the right message to the perp. Of course, it is entirely possible that I have just watched way too many episodes of Criminal Minds.

I agree Portabella. I would not be surprised to learn that he is a repeat offender. I would
think the "hacking" of a body and especially that of a child indicates his crimes against children have progressed over time. Doubtful that the "hacking" of a child is the work of a first time offender and if not caught his crimes will progress. Can't imagine anything more horrid than hurting a child and worse ..so it is hard for me to imagine the behavior worsening but it will.

They say they believe the perp is a local. Have there been other missing children cases in the past? How can you go from a happy community to a dismembered body? How does a perp progress like that if he's local?

I had the same thought and have never watched an episode of Criminal Minds.

Just to be clear, I wasn't criticizing LE in this case or other cases in my last post. I just think that when we put LE on a pedestal, the backlash will be bigger and sooner than in other unsolved cases.

I had to stop at page 32. I'm sickened and enraged. I want to thank all of you for all of your heart and energy. I truly believe that this site will be instrumental in this *advertiser censored* being arrested. I wish her family all of the strength in the world. If a fund is started, I would love to donate.

Jessica did not die in vain. Somehow, her life will serve a purpose well beyond her ten years.

I pray for all of you locals and send hugs from Florida.

I am going to Disney World this weekend and I will think of this little girl the whole time.

Now, let's get this *advertiser censored* and let karma take over. He will not get away with this.

It says "we are throwing EVERYTHING we have at catching you. We will not stop until you are caught you "

IMO ;)

(also watched way too much Criminal Minds)
