Hey us,

I remember hearing a couple of months ago about a girl in Utah who was kidnapped from her home and murdered, and they found her pretty quickly. Anyone know what case I'm talkin about? Or if it could be related? Utah is a neighboring state.

As others have said, it was Sierra Newbold. And I doubt it's related because that guy has been arrested and (I hope) is biding his time in jail. He was a neighbor of the girl I believe.

Nice, it seems he was charged with sexually abusing another neighbor girl/friend of his daughter's in August. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/...in-court-on-new-sex-abuse-charges.html?pg=all

This case seems kind of similar. It happened right next door in Utah. Rebecca was also kidnapped walking to school. Her body was found in a shed, not far from the road. It looks like a very suburban area now, not sure how it was in 1983.

Rebecca Lemberger: Rebecca Lemberger, 11-years-old left her house at approximately 8:10 am, walking to school, Edison Elementary school located at 935 East 1050 North, Ogden, Utah. Rebecca did not make it to school and when she did not return home after school her parents contacted the Ogden Police Department to report her missing. On March 3, 1983, at approximately 2:00pm, Rebecca was found deceased in a shed located in a field in the area approximately 250 feet West of 729 North Mountain Road, Ogden. Rebecca died as a result of blunt force injuires to the head.

It's an interesting thought... maybe a teacher or someone from the school that worked at Jessica's school previously and transferred to this other school.

Not sure if it's ok to bring this up here, if not, somebody let me know, thx. A 35 yr old Westminster male teacher was arrested in July 2012 for possessing child *advertiser censored*. I have a link, if it's ok to post.

I made this in PSP, open for anyone here to use however they see fit.

Shefner, that is so sweet.

It reminded me of my mama, who also sang her way through our days.

I hope no one will find this morbid!

When my mother died, I was sitting at her bedside holding her hand. I felt her spirit soar up out of her worn out body. Such a sense of joy came over me at the same time. I know her spirit rejoiced in her freedom just as I know the sun will rise tomorrow morning.

Whatever happened to Jessica, I know her spirit sprang free and is no longer affected by whoever did this.

I don't find that morbid at all, GrainneDhu....it is lovely.

:scared:

Just had to call 911 because DD and I are home alone and there was a vehicle slowly driving by our house multiple times parking at various spots along the way. The driver even turned around 3 times to case our street. Our doberman was going crazy.

UGH. I can't wait for DH to be home.

For reasons such as that....I am armed at all times...

With that said...I never ever hesitate to call 911 when I see odd stuff on my street. I have called 911 many times...even last week when I saw a suspicious person going door to door.

We all have to be the eyes and ears of our neighborhoods! Pay attention. Be aware.

I have seen her do that a couple of times WBG.

Off topic but I can't seem to watch her show with Levi? Anyone can send me some pointers I'd appreciate it.

Oh I've watched the show before. Was/is that tonight? There should be a link. :waitasec:

How far is the school in question, from where the backpack was found?

I'm coming out of lurk mode for this.

This case reeks of a perp who pre-planned this assault. Just as a burglar cases his place to rob, the person they are looking for cased this child. He knew her path to school, probably knew her mothers work schedule and knew the father wasn't in the home. That doesn't mean he knew the family personally - just that he is close by. Surely they are concentrating on the path to the park. They also need to question or requestion the other children (and their families) who meet up at the park and walk to school together.

Friday abduction - makes me think of Dave Westerfield, taking Danielle Van Dam. The weekened to do their deviant act, then worry about getting rid of the body. Time of abduction indicates, this person works a 2nd or 3rd shift, has Friday's off, or took the day off, may be unemployed or even retired.

Body not intact - indicates others live close enough around him, that he wouldn't risk moving her whole.

The whole thing is heartbreaking.

He should be VERRRY AFRAID of gray haired grannies!

that made me think of a million sleuth march! we're coming to get ya!

Let a sleuth run for president. We can balance the budget by bringing back public hangings and selling tickets..... or selling lottery tickets for winners to get to pull the trigger or push the switch... ok, I'll stop now.

Justice for Jessica!

FYI, per family member (who's Twitter I am not allowed to post) the new hashtag to follow is #JusticeForJessica

Is it possible that animals are to blame for the state of the remains? There must be some large predators in that area. In my immediate area we have coyotes, and bobcats and hawks, vultures and night owls. Any and all of them can do great bodily damage.

I've been trying to think of a delicate way of saying this, but I can't come up with one. I think that animals would have been more likely to go for the torso, which would have left the teeth there for dental impressions.

Yes WBG it was available on the front page of WS above the threads.

Which I didn't realize it and I scrolled on down to look for this thread and all of the sudden I heard Tricia talking and I had my speakers up. Jebus I jumped.

But then the feed cut out and I couldn't get it back. Hopefully somone knows where I can watch it.

And I don't even care if you are a dem or rep, I am with you.

I believe that LE probably does have some DNA and that it was not in any data base, thus asking the neighbors for DNA today, as was reported by a member.

I can relate. The problem is that real demented killers don't have logic that applies to most of the world. You would think it would drive a profiler insane to try to figure them out.

Ghostwheel, if you have studied Robert Ressler, Roger L. Depue, and John Douglas's books on profiling and the history of the FBI Behavioral Science Unit; originally referred too as the witches unit. You will find that many lessons were learned of the effects of profiling, both mentally and physically. If my memory is correct, John Douglass, suffered the symptoms of a light stroke due to his journey into the darkness..

True profiling is analogous to a priest performing exorcisms, imo...
'You must enter the fire to extinguish the flames of evil'..

Many FBI BAU profilers have benefited by the many sacrifices endured by these early pioneers..

On the lighter side, the BAU was originally named the FBI BSU. The name was later changed to BAU for obvious reasons...

As a rumor, IMO. I have yet to see a link to that from MSM.

I'm wondering did Jessica have a friend that went to this other school?
