When I read the first msm link, the story said he had some relatives that lived about 25 miles from this area but there were no known plans to see them. I don't know. Maybe this is a trip they do every summer.

In an article i read, it sounded like a once in a lifetime trip.

I have not finished reading all the newspaper writings but something came to mind while reading about this missing young man.

Somebody said maybe he could have been abducted and I thought to myself no way would a big strapping guy get abducted.

Then I checked FB and pictures and see he was about 5ft 6in, 153 lbs and blonde hair. Per the missing poster.

Could he have been mistaken for a younger boy?

Just my thought.

Is Joe related to the owners of the Rainbow Trout Ranch?

So...

how well did/does Joe know this area and Rainbow Trout Ranch?

The lady has an "accent" in the video I posted in a previous post about Rainbow Trout Ranch.

Joe has an "accent", as well...

I don't have a facebook, but since Joe Keller's profile pics are public,

I can see some of the peoples names who liked the photo of Joe and the girl from April 9, 2013.

(People with the same last name as the people who own/run Rainbow Trout Ranch.)

I can also see the comment (under that photo of Joe and girl) from one of the people that live/work at the ranch, and that comment was date April 2013. Same last name as the owner/people that run Rainbow Trout Ranch.

From the website for the Rainbow Trout Ranch under about us, your hosts, you can see who runs this beautiful ranch.
Also, under Home, you can get details about what this ranch is like and what there is to do there. It's a dude ranch, and it looks like it offers a lot of fun activities and a nice ambiance and being one with nature and having a great time.

What I am getting at, is that even though I don't have a facebook, I can see that he has been in correspondence with at least one person with the ranch since 2013, plus others with same last name.

Is he related to the family that runs/owns Rainbow Trout Ranch that he was/is missing from near the ranch?

The MSM links say that Joe went missing near this ranch. He was staying at this ranch.

Was this Joe's first time at the ranch?
Was he at the ranch previously?

It was said he went missing a day before his 19th birthday.

He went missing the first day he got there.

Was he to spend his 19th birthday at the ranch?

If he knew the area, is it possible he took off willingly?
Took off with someone? Took off by himself?
Is it possible he met up with someone he knew from a previous visit there if he had been there before?

What happened to Joe?

IMOO.

Why do two guys go jogging together in a place they are not familiar and one sprints off and leaves the other? And the one left is never seen again, doesn't call, or get his personal belongings? How about the detectives interrogate the last person who claims to have seen him alive? It seems like as good a starting point as any.

From his facebook profile, it looks like he knows the people that own/run the ranch, so leaving his personal belongings there I think would be perhaps "safe", or perhaps "ok" because they know him. Perhaps they would keep these items for him until he returns, or give the items to the appropriate authorities?
Just My Opinion...

It seems so unlikely to me that he was kidnapped, by a stranger.

I think whatever happened, if there is someone else involved, he either knew this person, and he left because he wanted to, or he knew this person and something went horribly wrong.

If it were a mountain lion attack or bear attack, the search dogs would have detected his scent.
He was said to be running on the Forest Service Road. In daylight!

Do the search dogs have his scent anywhere?

I wish LE would give us some Crumbs.

Things just don't add up...

Just My Humble Opinion.

Maybe he has some kind of undiagnosed heart condition, as sometimes seen in high school athletes...but then he has not been found...

Timeline?

If he is there, I assume he has the ability to call and let others know where he is and get his belongings. Someone there knows he is considered missing even if he does not get it. I think something accidental with or without his friends happened. It has been 6 days. Chances of survival are decreasing.

I think people are way too quick to jump on the "X person was never there" train when dogs don't pick up a scent. (Not just in the case, but in many cases.) It is WAY more likely that the dogs just missed it, the conditions weren't good enough, the dogs didn't get there fast enough, they didn't have a good enough/uncontaminated scent object, etc. We know nothing about these dogs and/or their handlers or how good they typically are. LE hasn't even suggested it's strange they didn't pick up a scent in anything that I've read (*unlike* in some other cases).

ETA: This would be quite the weird story to concoct if JK were never there. Why not just say he went out for a run and never returned? Why the weird "we ran together and then I ran ahead, etc"?

But we don't know if he has the ability to call.
Cell phone service might be difficult to get. This is in the mountains.
We don't know if he is near a facility that does have access to a phone.

Now at Rainbow Trout Ranch, in the "other amenities" section:

http://www.coloradoranch.com/ranches/rainbow-trout-ranch

"INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FACILITIES: One guest telephone. Wireless internet."

IMOO.

ETA:
If something accidental happened with or without his friends, then he must have gone off the road at some point because they would have found him, so either he left the road with someone, or he left the road by himself, in my opinion.

IMOO.

Timeline?

There isn't much of a timeline that I can see.
They said he went missing the first day he was there, the day before his 19th birthday.

Maybe they will say more in MSM or facebook as to when they arrived on that day, etc.
IMOO.

Let's take little Maddy MIddleton's case for example. Dogs missed her scent. She was RIIIGHTTT THEEERE...

How long after this person was missing did they find her?
Maddy disappeared last Sunday, found the next day on Monday in the dumpster of her mom's apartment building residence. :( (Found not bc of dogs but bc of surveillance footage and observed suspicious activity). 15 year old neighbor arrested. Heartbreaking case, raped, strangled, stabbed.

"Searchers today include dogs as well as more than 20 members of search and rescue teams from Arapahoe, El Paso, Chaffee, Alamosa, and Douglas counties. We are very grateful for all of the experience and expertise that so many have been contributing to this search effort since Joe Keller's disappearance on July 23."
