I have been looking through MSM but haven't been able to find the answer. The brunette that they were looking for and found, did she actually have anything to do with Kara? All I can seem to find is that they interviewed her...

from what i read on the facebook page for find kara, the admins were asking people to take down the pictures of the brunette.... Here is the actual post from facebook and the family (i hope its ok to post it here) It makes me think she was cleared but thats JMO moo

Update from Family: Due to the recent information provided to the family and to local media in Denver by investigators, the family has removed the “person of interest” flyer from this site and all of the previous links about the girl in question. Please help us find the other brunette that was seen with Kara on October 9th. If you know anything, please call police.

This is a video from JVM. I hadn't seen it yet and am not quite sure exactly when it was produced but it gives a lil more info... Her phone was last used at 11:45 pm 10/9/12. she apparently spent most of the day at her apt. before leaving with the brunette(s).
I also realized how naive her parents are about her "modeling". they really seem to have no clue what their daughter was into. even the terminology that the mother uses shows that she really didn't know what her daughter was into.. IMO . I feel so sorry for them. i hope they can find her soon...
 
I'm surprised that a review of computer and phone communications hasn't produced any results yet. Then again, maybe it has, and LE is again keeping their cards close to their vest.

Stepping out of the tunnel for a moment (the tunnel being that her disappearance MUST be related to her occupation/lifestyle), there is the possibility that she was met with foul play simply bc she is a young female. Amy Anohen still hasn't been found...While there is the possibility that Amy was one of Travis Forbes victims, who Thank God is in prison, this is something to keep in mind.

Angry wives? Clients trying to keep her mouth shut? Jealous co-workers or friends? Accidental overdose trying to be covered up...Who knows.

Just trying to step outside the box for a second, though agreed her occupation is certainly a dangerous one and very likely related to her disappearance.

No shortage of nutjobs in the Denver area, thats for sure.

I had not considered it before, but it just occurred to me that maybe the photos is circulation on the escort sites were SOLD to those sites. Sold either by Kara or the photog/agency who shot them. Maybe those sites are clients of modeling agencies like BDM?

There is a picture on the Find kara fb page that shows her in her cap and gown and it says that it was her at her graduation. and that she graduated top of her class. I also found a young man that seems to be her Ex bf. there are a few pics on his FB page of her kissing him on the cheek that were posted back in april IIRC.. (i hope this is all OK to post here)
 
On the find Kara facebook page, there is a picture of Kara in her cap and gown and it said she graduated top of her class. As far as boyfriends and friends, I haven't read anything from a legitimate source that says there were any.

Las Vegas police said it's not uncommon for escort sites to try to lure customers with photos taken from other websites, KLAS reported. The ad has since been taken down, and authorities said there is no evidence that Nichols is in Las Vegas.

Investigators said they uncovered several websites visited by Nichols that relate to this subculture, although these sites are not believed to be the cause of her disappearance.

Nevada authorities said Las Vegas is a hot bed for the sex business and investigators think it is possible that Nichols could be a victim of human sex trafficking, KLAS reported.

-LE does not believe Kara is in Vegas.
-LE has looked at Kara's computer and found evidence that Kara was visiting at certain websites.

Has it been mentioned how long Kara had been living with the current roommates? Her last job?

I agree with you there. No doubt she is somewhere on an involuntary basis. Temporary or permanent is all that's left to figure out.

Do we know anything about the roommates? Number, age, sex? The female roommate quoted in MSM is the last known person to see Kara right? Pretty much the whole timeline is dependent upon her statement of when she last saw Kara. What if she's not being truthful?

Yep, that's where I was heading. Certainly not accusing, just wondering how long Kara had lived there, known them. Were they aspiring models too? Can you link me to the article she is quoted in?
 
I think that one of the problems with this case is that LE has done nothing to confirm or deny the rumors that are circulating. The only thing that they have said is that they do not believe that it is Kara who posted the pics on the Las Vegas site but they have not said anything about other sites that had Kara's pictures. They have only said

If she was visiting sites, IMO that would lead to her meeting some unsavory people who could use her for the purpose of human trafficking.

I used the quotes when i put the modeling up there because I haven't seen any modeling pics of hers used in print or any runway shows etc. The only modeling pics I have seen of her are the ones on the BD Models (and im sorry but IMO that is not a real modeling agency) and the ones on her MM account. MM to me is a red flag when it comes to the modeling. i don't know of anyone that has gotten legit work from that site (i used to model and have some friends that are still in the industry)

Having perused that "agency's" site previously, I agree it appears sketchy at best. The pix are poor quality and, having worked with at-risk teens for years, the girls they use appear vulnerable to exploitation, IMO. MM or booking work online with strangers has never seemed a good, safe idea to me.

Unfortunately, a lot of young girls dream of modeling, but know very little about it, and predators are adept at targeting vulnerable girls. It'd be easy to fill a girl's head with compliments, take some clothed pix, tell her how great she was as a model, and slowly work her into less clothing and revealing poses, and on from there into further exploitation.
