Linda Sobek disappeared in Hermosa Beach, CA after going out on a modeling job. She was later found murdered and a photographer Charles Rathbun was found guilty of her murder.

I also believe that Rodney Alcala convinced girls to go somewhere with him by using a camera, claiming to be a photographer and then once he got them to a different location, he murdered them. He trolled the beaches for his victims.

I haven't been on Kara's thread in several days. In skimming through posts, I can see that her images have been posted on some less than desirable websites (makes me sick), but I'm not seeing anything that would indicate that Kara herself is doing any of this posting?
I really worry about this young girl.

NWCAVE says here that the Vegas escort ads were a "cruel hoax". They should be able to figure out who is responsible for those pictures being posted. IMO, the responsible party needs the full colonoscopy treatment from LE. Just unreal that someone could do that to the family. It makes me wonder if Kara or her parents have enemies out there who want to do them harm for some reason.

There were ads with Kara's pictures on Las Vegas escort sites before she went missing so I don't think it was a cruel hoax towards the family.

I used to work for an escort agency as a booker/receptionist. Nothing sinister, no human trafficking. They weren't there against their will. Most of them were just strippers trying to supplement their income. That's not to say that all "escort angencies" are harmless, just sharing my experience...
Which brings me to this point- Part of my job sometimes was to find pictures for our ads, as we never used photos of our actual "dancers." This consisted of nothing more than going to a handful of different websites which contained VAST libraries of photos much like the ones we've seen of Kara. My understanding is that these GWC's (Guy With Camera, not legitimate photographer) sell their images (which they, not the model, own the rights to) to said websites. This is almost always the end purpose for these types of photo shoots. Where they go from there is anyone's guess. *
Long story short, I think people are reading way too much into her photos being on some agency's website. I think its just a very unfortunate coincidence, not a "cruel hoax" or any kind of clue/evidence. As far as wondering if she or her family knew about her photos being there, they would only know if - A. She or someone in her family liked to shop for escorts in Las Vegas and saw it themselves, B. The photographer was upfront/honest with her about what he intended to do with the images, which is highly unlikely, or C. If she ever decided to do some sort of reverse image search, and those rarely actually work in my experience. I can't think of any logical scenario where she, let alone her family, would know how those photos were being used prior to her disappearing.*

I, personally, would say that's also a coincidence. It could even be the same company using her photos in both Colorado and Las Vegas/Nevada. The company I worked for mostly served Southern California (L.A., Orange and San Diego counties) but we also occasionally had girls working in other states, often including Colorado.
Also worth noting is that the whole never-using-the-girl's-actual-picture thing was/is the norm, not just something we did. I never really understood why, considering these girls weren't particularly modest and were usually BETTER looking themselves than the girl in the photos used for the ad. I guess it's just one of those things.
A good way to know if she might have actually been working as an escort would be to ask her roommate(s) if she was gone overnight on a regular basis. It's definitely not a daytime job.

LE is the one who brought up the human trafficking aspect and the family seems to believe that may have been what happened since they reached out to NWCAVE for help.
There has been pretty much no information released about Kara. Who did she call and/or text at 11:45pm? What time did she leave to go to her modeling interview and who was it with? What does the brunette she was last seen with look like or what kind of car did she have? There are a lot of brunettes in the world.
If she was last seen with a brunette girl then she obviously holds the key to Kara's disappearance because, if she had nothing to hide, she would have came forward by now.

The police already found the brunette from the picture and interviewed her. I don't know if they ever found the second brunette woman or not. I don't know if they ever showed a photo of the second woman.

They found the brunette with the upper arm tattoo. They have not found the one with the camera mirror self shot. This was clarified by the Sheriff's office on JVM.

My understanding is that the photos of the "brunette" in the POI flyer, were of the same person. It has been stated that no info has been released regarding "the other brunette"other than the fact she is brunette and she had spent x amount of time with Kara on the day she disappeared. We do not know her name nor her relationship with Kara nor anything else....Although, i can see why you thought they were two different people in the flyer, as i myself thought so too.

The Sheriff's dept rep on JVM clearly stated that they are two different people, and that the brunette with the arm tattoo had been found and interviewed. They are still looking for the other brunette. I am 100% sure on that.

From my understanding, the pictures were of the same brunette who police have already interviewed. The second brunette does not have a photo and is just described as a brunette.

The brunette with the arm tatoo IS the brunette with the phone in the poi flyer...like i said we don't know much about the other brunette that is yet to be questioned.
