Since the woman in the photo with the tattoo is also the same woman in the Colorado based ads, then one of the following must be true.
Kara willingly participated in placing the ads.
Kara took pictures perhaps with this woman, and the woman either sold or gave the pictures to someone else to use.
It is just pure coincidence that the woman on the flyer, who is also pictured in the same ad as Kara's picture, and Kara were randomly chosen to depict a blonde and brunette for an escort service.
I find the third option pretty unlikely, so I am going to say that option 2 or 1 are the most likely.

Lets go back to the beginning. What do we know about Kara?
Her parents stated she had been working at a restaurant. Do we know what restaurant?
She had a boyfriend. What do we know about him? Is there any indication that he was jealous of her modeling or if they had any other issues?
Who invented the story about the improbable Wed. night rave party that Kara supposedly went to? If it was an invented story, what motivations did they have for doing so?
Kara likes music, modeling, and what else? Do we know anything else about her?

I am just trying to think of all the information we have about her, and aside from her modeling, we don't know very much.
It is hard to get a feeling for who she is without more details.

Also worth noting is that the whole never-using-the-girl's-actual-picture thing was/is the norm, not just something we did. I never really understood why, considering these girls weren't particularly modest and were usually BETTER looking themselves than the girl in the photos used for the ad. I guess it's just one of those things.

My guess regarding the standard of not using their actual photos would be that prostitution is illegal/criminal in most parts of the US.

Sad that someone like Kara could just trust the wrong person to take a pic, not know to contract/protect how their images are used, and end up wrongly associated with criminal activity they are not engaging in.

LE has only stated that Kara did not place the ad in Las Vegas. They have not said anything about the other ads. It would really be nice if they did but since they did not, no one really knows for sure.

Thinking about the photos in the Las Vegas ad. Who was the original photographer of these photos? Now if they were placed AFER Kara disappeared then maybe it was whoever took the photos in the first place that passed them on.
The phone number for Kara's photos is also associated with three other girls. Now, one of these girls happens to be "The Brunette" from the poi flyer.... the interesting thing is the connection other than the phone number between the girls. In Kara's pics, there is a poster which reads "Sex is part of nature. I go along with nature". It is Marilyn Monroe quote. Now another girl has pics with the same poster displayed too. Also a pink/purple blanket is used in two of the girls photos but not Kara's.
Now my point is, who was the photographer, and where were these photos taken? Something is bugging me about the connections...especially as the brunette is there too...but not connected by room/poster/blanket like the other girls. The photos aren't too revealing either, and just look like a lngerie shoot....

Photographer Ako Pah was interviewed by one of the local news outlets. He had done a photo shoot with Kara at some point. I believe he is the only known photographer to have worked with her.

Google Ako Pah and you will find plenty of his work. Very similar to the stuff circulating on escort sites.

"Escort" does NOT always equal prostitute. There are plenty of legitimate escort agencies, like the one I worked for, who simply provide company or a lap dance. In fact, the company I worked for actually had all the dancers sign very long, strict contracts siting what they could and could NOT do (ie. have sex with a client.)

Well said, and it's how I feel as well about this case.
Her photos and "modeling" interest sidetracks IMO making what happened appear more exotic than probably what actually took place.

My feeling is something most likely happened with someone she was either staying with or who was close to her.

Beautiful Distractions (BD) is the modeling agency that Kara works for. Janthony Photography is who took the pictures of her that are posted on her MM site. JAnthony appears to be the owner of the agency.

Since no one knows what happened to Kara and LE has said she could possibly be a victim of human trafficking, perhaps maybe something like this could have happened to her. The article said the "pimps" used backpage.com , which is a place Kara's pictures were used, to advertise the girls they were selling. It only mentions two underage girls as the victims but, with that many people arrested, there is bound to be more victims.

Nichols Family Updates: Yesterday marked two months that our precious Kara vanished without a trace. There is not much to report on since our last updates. No new news from the investigation and no other details that brings us closer to b
ringing our daughter home.

Thanksgiving came and went and now as we approach the holidays, our daughter is still not home with us. Christmas is a favorite time for Kara; she is and will always be our “Precious Kara.”

Yesterday we posted a photo of Kara from younger years, today, as we continue our search efforts we share with the public and media a photo of Kara and Santa; a time every parent cherishes and a time if we could ask for anything this holiday season it would be for our little girl to come home!

Tonight Michelle Bart from the National Women’s Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation will join Kara’s high school teacher and mentor Dina Wood on a Blog Talk Radio show hosted by Glendene Grant (whose daughter is still missing too). The two women will have voice for Kara and a voice for our family.
