Shirtless Chris Watts seen in photos just moments before his arrest for murder with Metallica tattoo | Daily Mail Online
  • Chris Watts was photographed by agents shortly after his disastrous polygraph test on August 15, two days after his pregnant wife Shanann and two daughters were first reported missing
  • Agents were looking for any cuts of clues that might help their investigation, asking Watts to remove his shirt and lift the legs of his shorts as they photographed his body
  • The photos and video this were obtained by DailyMail.com after filing a request under the Colorado Open Records Act, and show Watts' five tattoos, including a large Metallica symbol on his back
  • Records obtained by DailyMail.com last month showed that Watts had searched for the lyrics to a Metallica song after burying his wife and disposing of his daughters' bodies in an oil tank
  • It would be just a short while after these photographs were taken that Watts was placed under arrest for the murder of Shanann and his two daughters, Bella and Celeste
  • Watts had been seen bragging to an officer just two days prior about all the weight he had lost recently, saying he was giving away clothing that was a size 38 waist because it no longer fit him

Murderer Chris Watts Transferred To Wisconsin Prison Notorious For Serial Killers
Wife and child killer Chris Watts has been transferred to the infamous Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin — where he will rot behind bars with other notorious murderers, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.

Now, he will serve five life sentences alongside Chris Coleman, an Illinois man who was convicted of crimes eerily similar to those of Watts. The former bodyguard to televangelist Joyce Meyer is serving a life sentence for killing his wife and two children to run off with his mistress.

Disturbing serial killer Ed Gein — who was the inspiration for Psychocharacter Norman Bates — also was an inmate at DCI before his 1984 death.

Though the Wisconsin Department of Corrections would not confirm or deny Watts was transferred to DCI, the killer is included on the prison’s commissary listing.

Killer dad Chris Watts may have faked calls to hospitals, pretending to look for missing pregnant wife and two little girls: ‘A trail of concocted concern’
On the day that Shanann Watts and her young daughters were first reported missing in mid-August, her husband Chris Watts made a series of phone calls to area hospitals at the suggestion of concerned family and friends — but an investigating officer was skeptical that Watts actually inquired about his family.

The report notes that “The average duration of these calls was forty seconds, the longest was sixty nine seconds.”

The Greeley Police officer who authored the report wrote in the data review that he called one of those four hospitals “out of curiosity” and asked about an unknown name, requesting confirmation that they were a patient at the hospital.

“It took two minutes to get my answer,” the officer, who did not identify himself in the call, wrote in the report.

“I suspect Watts merely called each hospital to create a trail of concocted concern and never actually spoke with anyone.”

Shanann Watts' Parents Break Their Silence on Triple Murder of Daughter and 'Miracle' Grandkids
Shanann Watts wanted the world for her little girls, Bella and Celeste, and her unborn son, Niko. A driven and determined woman, the 34-year-old Watts had overcome the risks of her lupus diagnosis to have children, who were her “miracles.”

Sandra said her daughter “never gave up” and kept a vision board — “to make sure her children had everything they ever needed,” Shanann’s father explained.

“She was a good soul,” Frank told ABC.

Both he and Sandra described Shanann as confident, resolute. Before giving birth, she had dreamed of being a mother, Sandra said, and for years she battled lupus, an autoimmune disease.

When Shanann became pregnant with Bella, her oldest daughter, some of her friends grew concerned about the health risks, Sandra said.

She recalled telling Shanann, however, “God wouldn’t let it happen if it wasn’t meant to be.”

Speaking with ABC News, Shanann’s parents said their daughter and grandchildren were gifts from God.

Shan'ann Watts' Parents Say They Had No Clue Her Marriage Was Falling Apart
The Rzuceks said they believed their daughter was "absolutely" happy in her marriage to Watts and never suspected anything was amiss.

"She was extremely happy," said Frank.

Just released video shows Watts undergoing a physical examination for scratches or bruises that may have been caused from his final encounter with his wife.

Following the examination, Watts is left alone in the interview room and soon falls fast asleep, a picture of one of the children he slaughtered just inches away.

[UPDATED] Chris Watts girlfriend searched for Shanann Watts online nearly a year before the murders and long before her affair with Chris Watts began: Report
The records supervisor at the Frederick Police Department told CrimeOnline on Thursday that the entry in the discovery report showing that Nichol Kessinger performed a Google search for Shanann Watts on September 1, 2017 is a typo.

CrimeOnline reached records supervisor Amanda Purcell on Thursday after repeated inquiries made to multiple Colorado law enforcement agencies to confirm the accuracy of an entry in the Phone Data Review included in the discovery documents connected to the Chris Watts murder case, released by the Weld County District Attorney’s office late last month.

Asked if the entry in the Phone Data Review showing that Kessinger, who was involved in an affair with Chris Watts when he murdered his wife Shanann Watts and two young daughters, showing that Kessinger performed an internet search for “Shanann Watts” on her cell phone on September 1, 2017, was typographically correct, Purcell said it was a typo in the report.

Purcell was not able to provide additional clarification about another section of the phone data review that indicates Kessinger searched for Chris and/or Shanann Watts prior to beginning her relationship with Chris Watts in the spring of 2018, and referred our inquiry to the Weld County District Attorney’s office. CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.

Chris Watts led deadly double life before murdering family
From the outside, Shanann Watts seemed ecstatic about the summer she was going to spend with her family. She shared on Facebook that she, along with her two girls, would be visiting relatives for an extended period in North Carolina.

“We had a lot of fun,” Shanann Watts’ father, Frank Rzucek, told “20/20” in an exclusive interview, remembering fondly visiting the beach with his granddaughters.

“We played in puddles. We went to the zoo,” his wife and Shanann’s mother, Sandra Rzucek told “20/20” in an exclusive interview.

Chris Watts had stayed at home in Colorado working – but even from afar, Shanann Watts began to sense a change in her husband.

Sandra Rzucek said her daughter had told her that the transformation happened over the course of “a few weeks, maybe a month.”

“If you are done, don't love me, don't want to work this out, not happy anymore and only staying because of kids, I NEED you to tell me," Shanann Watts wrote in one text.

“She was missing him a lot. She was looking forward to him getting there,” said her friend Addy, who asked that her last name not be used.

The night she was to return home from her training in Scottsdale, a storm delayed her flight. Shanann Watts enjoyed a final dinner with her closest friends, seeking advice and support on a marriage that she would never get the chance to work on.

The couple subsequently blocked Shanann on Facebook and did not attend or even call their granddaughter on her birthday.

At the same time, Shanann's own mother revealed that Watts' parents did not even attend their son's wedding to her daughter.

The tension between Shanann and her in-laws reached a boiling point while she was in North Carolina for four weeks without Chris, who was working and enjoying time with his mistress back in Colorado.

Chris Watts Was 'Cold as Ice' Before Triple Murders — and What Wife's Mom Told Her Before She Died
Shanann Watts’ parents knew her marriage was having problems and that her husband of nearly six years, Chris Watts, had grown distant and unloving — but, her mother advised her, give him his space. She had no idea what he would do next.

“She just couldn’t understand why he was so cold,” Shanann’s mom, Sandra Rzucek, explained to ABC News in an episode of 20/20 airing Friday night.

“Nothing that was really — that I could physically see,” Frank told ABC. “Something wasn’t there, but [it] didn’t click to nobody.”

Sandra said the estrangement seemed to have been going on for a “few weeks, maybe a month.” Chris acted “just cold as ice,” she said, not replying, not responding.

“The Rzuceks are utterly devastated,” 20/20 co-anchor Amy Robach, who interviewed Frank and Sandra and others for the episode, tells PEOPLE. “They told me that in one night they lost all their grandchildren and their only daughter, a daughter they video chatted with every single day.”

“However,” Robach continues, “they have a strong faith in God and that, along with their son, is what is getting them through each day. They are speaking out because they want to set the record straight about Shanann.”

HEAR KILLER DAD CHRIS WATTS TINDER DATE: Watts juggles office sex and rape fantasy Tinder date, then murders pregnant wife and two baby girls
As Colorado killer dad Chris Watts heads to a Wisconsin prison where he will spend the rest of his life, new details emerge about his extramarital affairs and how he murdered his pregnant wife and two young daughters.

Nancy Grace explores the latest with a panel of experts of experts, including psychologist and lawyer Dr. Brian Russell — host of Investigation Discovery’s “Fatal Vows” series, Atlanta juvenile judge and lawyer Ashley Willcott, Cold Case Research Institute director Sheryl McCollum, CrimeOnline.com reporter Ellen Killoran, and RadarOnline.com reporter Alexis Tereszcuk.

Chris Watts confessed to the murders and was sentenced to five life sentences. He is now at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun.

Historian James Laird told FOX6 News in the mid-1800s, the people of Waupun traveled to Madison to ask lawmakers to put the state prison in their community.

“I think it had something to do with money,” Laird said. “During the Great Depression, the economy of the town stayed pretty good because so many of the people, a large percentage of the people, worked in the institutions.”

Dodge Correctional Institution came later. It was converted from the Central State Hospital for the criminally insane in the 1970s.

‘Very used to inmates:’ City of Waupun now home to convicted killer Chris Watts
