I don’t think he killed her with a dart gun. That thing was being held together with zip ties and probably wasn’t functional to any practical degree. I don’t think he was chasing her around the house either, wifi wobble is a thing and can show someone running around in a house-sized area when they’re actually sitting still the whole time.

I think they argued, he strangled her, and dumped her body (dissolved or not) close to but not on the Puma Path property.
The short barrel rifle was functional the month before SM disappeared, BM said he shot two deer with darts to saw off their antlers.

How did LE get into the house through the front door? It seemed that they had been inside before Barry was escorted in. Barry asked if the door was open, and the officer indicated that it was. Lights were off, and Barry turned a few on. In retrospect, all so weird-couldn’t the officers have taken a look around and chosen to take Suzanne’s bike shorts off the floor without even consulting Barry? Suzanne seemed to be so fastidious about the house-were the shorts on the floor or in a wash basket? Suzanne didn’t ride on Saturday-how long had the shorts and gloves been lying there? Too many questions, very few answers.
MM2s BF and his fayher were already there searching the house.

While I can agree that marriage are complex and we don't have all the details, we do have quite a bit and it isn't one sided. We have the texts from Barry that he deleted. He admitted to much of this when confronted by police. He was abusive. While it is good to walk away if someone is heated, I feel the nature of what he did and when is not normal. Turning off your phone and not answering it while disappearing for days is not normal.
No, it is not normal. It is incredibly childish. Maybe "childish" is who he really is, and is the reason for the predicament in which he now finds himself. To be fair, maybe his upbringing is to blame, I know very little about it. But you would think that by his age he would have outgrown it, if he had any moral fibre at all.

SMS (Text) requires cellular service as its provided by your network operator

iMessage, Whatsapp etc only require a data connection - so those messages can be received via Wi-Fi at home even if you have bad coverage.

Thank you for this explanation. We sometimes get sloppy when discussing the communications in this case, I think. The distinctions can be confusing, but important, like understanding partial DNA matches the. Were SO/SM exchanging messages via SMS text or by some other app?

I've never seen a photo of Barry with a hard hat on but I can guarantee it would have been a requirement for a municipal job (which includes the Broomfield job). I have no doubt he wore one when required, even though he was Barry :). OSHA doesn't fool around anymore on that issue. 20-30 years ago you could get away with it, not now.

I'd love to see the job site photos.

Yes, but were LE permitted to search the house? If they had been, I find it curious that they'd wait hours to retrieve Suzanne's clothes for the scent dogs and asked him to turn on the lights. They were notified while there was still daylight.
I'd love to know the answer to this myself and exactly when they told him not to return and searched his truck and Suzanne's car. IIRC, Barry was pissed he couldn't go back into the house and it was early in the day - when LE had issued a search warrant and flexible Barry mid-air tied his shoelace.

MM2’s boyfriend had been called by MM2 and was either asked to go check the house or did so of his own accord before the police arrived because she couldn’t get ahold of Suzanne on MD. His father met him at Suzanne’s house also because he was concerned. It is shady that Barry turned on minimal lighting as if he were hiding something or afraid they may spot something questionable on his person. Wondering if one would sport bike riding apparel before or after showering especially after sunbathing? Anyone know if mountain biking in Colorado at that time of day and season of year would necessitate sweating to the point where you shower before or after sunbathing? Not that I think she went for a bike ride and especially not where Barry indicated she did.
Imagine: You had been absent for circa 13 hours for your biiig NON-job in a town far away and you know during circa 13 hours, when you return to your home, it officially has become part of a crime scene, with neighbours, friends, police all over the place AND you will have to answer questions (if possible, facial expression like a severely affected husband) ..........

"Lions?? Cell phone??? Cell phone??? Lions?? Bike??" Nobody had told BM on time, that it would be advisable to ask for his wife perhaps, then storm the house looking for her and signs of her presence/absence and possible explanations to it. (Maybe, True Crime sessions aren't detailed enough for advice.)

What BM mucked out from his home/garage before he drove to Broomfield, was stuff, he didn't want to see/find by neighbours, friends, police. There was A LOT to think about before he started!! Poor felon. What an exhausting Mother's Day it must have been! But yes, nobody said, it would be a (nice) Father's Day.

That BM arranged the "mission of disappearance (murder)" one day before a day of celebration makes me wonder, if he did also with unknown misdeeds.
IMO MOO

The defense motion being heard involves alleged discovery violations dating back to May 2020 -- months before the PH. As to this specific witness, I'd say in part, the stars lining up against former agent Cahill where he was responsible for the DNA portion and also allegedly deemed dishonest during an investigation (albeit involving a personal incident). The defense further alleges Cahill committed perjury during his PH testimony.

Yes - I understand this

Just seems odd defence gets to go around the houses with him for 2 hrs pretrial

Okay, but sitting still for an amount of time isn't a thing for BM, I bet.

Why would GPS coordinates for Barry's truck be showing in Broomfield one minute and 7 minutes later be in Salida? This is in reference to Sunday's activity log the defense shared. Could his tampering with the truck the night before lead to that?

I've been looking at this! It's puzzling.
Why would that happen cos its based on GPS co-ordinates.

The images we've been given of gaiety and lilt and smiles and coffees and chivalry and touching, there's a name for that. In marketing. It's called rebranding. And the defense is doing it. Everything they can to rebrand Barry as safe. Harmless. Just a dad.
I like it!!! :)

* Rebranding can last from 6 to 9 months ..... They will have to hurry. ;)

I think lots of that information is out there.

We know all that sort of data takes an incredible amount of man hours to go through. I am confident that there is lots more to expose into BM's doings. The defense may be in for some nasty obstacles.

Leopards/spots.

FWIW in the McStay case, in hindsight the PH contained the broad strokes of the prosecution case - proving there was a case to answer

But obviously the trial was vastly more detailed, especially when it came to the digital evidence, and it was that evidence that secured the guilty verdict.

A lot of expert witness analysis takes place after the PH, as the witnesses prepare for trial - obviously those reports and briefs will be discovered as we approach trial.

So it is just so hard to say whether there will be any bombshells for those who have followed the case at a granular level, but I expect a higher level of insight at trial on issues like Telematics and location data.

The PH process simply isn't designed to be a full hearing of the evidence, and that is why you see nominal witnesses like Grusing introduce all manner of exhibits.

This also reduces the scope for horseplay. The states DNA expert can't be tripped up about "sex offender matches" for example.

MOO I think the zip ties are police securing the gun.
BM said it was functional the month before.

Italics and pink - by me

Oh YES! You’re right - not only did he have to remove evidence of the murder, but also years-worth of evidence of being a low-down, cheating, dirty-dealing, shifty guy. To maintain the Godly image. Busy, busy B indeed.
