It really sort of clinches it for me. Digging up property after using high tech equipment to scan for something isn’t done on a whim.
That’s serious business. They have something significant to be able to get a judge to sign off on that.
What clinches it for me was LEs response in the first few hours after SM was reported missing. It was still light out yet they involved multiple agencies in a search and had the house taped off in under 6 hrs. They either found something or heard something BIG. IMO

What if...
the property owners contacted LE themselves because...
they heard SM was missing, had just recently hired BM to do the dirt work, and he was there, on site, on Mother's Day Sunday.
A big contradiction in his story about being in Denver, which would of course send up a huge red flag to LE.
That might explain "Investigators say the search was initiated based on “information developed during the Suzanne Morphew missing person case."

I guess that's possible.
Ontario, do you know a link to a report by the property owner regarding when BM was working there? Seems he was very busy if it was on Mother's Day. Moo

I think LE is finally beginning to realize they went about this backwards and that their initial focus on BM may have been in error. Searches focused on him have turned up nothing, so now they start canvassing neighbors in the area? That should have been done the second day.

But here’s the really telling thing—the poster shows Suzanne in a bike helmet. If they didn’t think she disappeared while on a bike ride, why in the world would they put out a poster a month after she disappeared showing her wearing a bike helmet????

I think they’re coming around.

Good question.
A possible answer to that is, she's a local, and she does ride her bike in the local area.
Even if she didn't actually go for a bike ride on Mother's Day, it's entirely possible someone local might have seen her before, wearing that helmet, and that might jog their memory of maybe the last time they did see her, out and about.
Having that information might help LE pin down a tighter timeline.

Entirely speculation.
LE always have a reason for doing what they do.
Because we have literally zero idea of what evidence they already have, all we're all doing, is a lot of speculation, based on what we've seen LE do in past cases.

YouTuber who ‘secretly’ recorded video of Barry Morphew discussing wife’s disappearance says he believes Suzanne Morphew’s husband knew the camera was on
[...]

Tyson Draper encountered Morphew this weekend after the Arizona man traveled to the central Colorado township after visiting friends not far from Maysville, Draper told CrimeOnline. He said he had become interested in the missing persons case and wanted to search the area where investigators have focused a search for Suzanne, noting that the $210,000 reward offered was part of the incentive.

... Dyson told CrimeOnline that he had been to the area near Morphew’s home on Saturday and saw Barry Morphew in his truck. He said he came back the next day and when he saw Morphew driving again, he flagged down the pickup truck and spoke to Barry, telling him that he was interested in helping with the search for Suzanne.

... At the beginning of the 8-minute video, Morphew is heard asking Draper to turn off a device — a GoPro, according to Draper — and Draper tells him that he has turned it off, which is not true. Draper continues to record while Morphew discussed the search for Suzanne, taking Draper to an area where her bike was reportedly found — a discovery that police have not publicly confirmed.

I don't think we know what he has told LE - just what he has said in the FB post and the interview he did -
I am sorry, I was referring to the site where they were digging. I see several posts saying he there Sunday but I had only read that he had recently done work there. I certainly could have missed it. Moo

Ontario, do you know a link to a report by the property owner regarding when BM was working there? Seems he was very busy if it was on Mother's Day. Moo

There is no link, it was speculation on my part as to a possible reason LE were initially made aware of the job site.
The only link I am aware of that mentions both BM and the property owner's relationship is this one:

"The property owner confirmed to CBS4’s Rick Sallinger that Suzanne’s husband was hired to lay dirt on the riverfront land, located east of Salida. The owner of the property told CBS4’s Rick Sallinger that he has known Barry Morphew for three weeks."

Finding Suzanne Morphew: Investigators Search Husband's Job Site Near Salida

I'm not sure what to make of the press release yesterday. Does this mean LE has checked out 400 tips and none of them were fruitful?
Not necessarily.

IMO:
Likely they're still running tips down as they continue to come in. They get lots of crackpot type tips, along with the "instructions/directions" given by members of the public who think LE needs to be told what to do.

And that information would likely have been very valuable had the canvassing occurred on May 12. A month later, memories being what they are, it’s likely useless. If I saw a woman biking around a month ago, covid lockdowns making pretty much every day the same, how would I ever know at this point exactly what day I saw her?

I'm not sure what to make of the press release yesterday. Does this mean LE has checked out 400 tips and none of them were fruitful?
Or... they're following the direction that the evidence, tips and leads, is directing them.
I've seen LE comment about this over the years, and the truth is, the vast majority of tips called in to any case, turn out to be not related to the case at all, or, information LE already had. But they still have to follow up on every single one (minus the wacky ones like "have you checked on the moon!?" and junk like that) and that's pretty time consuming.

Thx. I I thought that I remembered the owner or a neighbor reporting that he was seen working there, but I may have been mistaken. Moo

If I saw a woman biking around a month ago, covid lockdowns making pretty much every day the same, how would I ever know at this point exactly what day I saw her?
It wouldn't have occurred to you once you heard about a woman "who went on a bike ride" in the area you had just seen someone around that same time to report it when the alert went out and call in that info?

I think it would be remembered by many people because:

1. Salida/Mayfair is a small town
2. A woman disappearing was and is big news
3. Repeated public messages with the tip line phone number were broadcast and published, especially in the first 2 weeks.
4. Her picture has been published and broadcast.

IMO:

Based on seeing LE put out flyers in other cases, one of the reasons, besides generating leads and tips, is because they have to demonstrate to a future jury they utilized various tactics in trying to locate the "missing person." A defense attorney will try to claim their client was arrested due to a "rush to judgement." This is like defense attorney 101, which became well-known in 1995 with the OJ Simpson case.

Showing the jury multiple efforts were made to look for the victim, talk to anyone who could have seen them, follow every tip and lead, not hastily arrest anyone without developing the evidence, is the anecdote to those oft-used defense claims.

/IMO
very good thought!
