Come to think of it has LE mentioned anything at all about the bike ride?

Other than the fact that they stated that they were told that she went on a bike ride by the caller.
Agreed.
Good post.

I don't think it was the neighbor who thought she was on a bike ride --but someone who contacted said neighbor and wanted a welfare check or 911 call.
So where exactly did the 'bike ride' info come from ?
Daughters ? Husband ?
Probably not the nephew.

A small list of people who know what Suzanne might be doing.

And if the daughters and husband were away, how would they know what she was doing that specific day ?

I hate to type this ... but has the house been searched with HRD dogs ?
As in --what if she told a daughter she planned to go for a ride and fell and died (heart attack, etc.) before she could leave the house ?
Just thinking that LE should look over the house from top to bottom.

Maybe because they have a team of trained searchers. It doesn't seem like they are in need of additional help.

But I understand that others are finding fault with LE, though I have seen an active and intensive investigation. Different people have different perceptions.

In just about every case on WS there will be posters criticizing LE and there will be complaints about how the investigation is being run. The vast majority of the complaints are unfounded.
There are incompetent investigations,or deliberate sabotage of cases due to corruption. But not in almost every case.
The bulk of investigators are hard working, experienced professionals. Most of the time when LE is quiet they have a lead that's hot and the investigators have a good idea of who the perp is. They keep a lid on information for good reason. That seems to frustrate some people.

AND--- I need a helping hand with this pic... she was at the presser and spoke. What is her name?
I like to keep my pics labeled correctly.

(Unfortunately on some of the 8= year old archives the site went haywire and lost my titles.)

We always need to be careful to not cast aspersions at innocent people. For those members who are suspicious that someone was out of town the day Suzanne disappeared, please also consider that it may have happened because someone knew that person would be out of town and Suzanne would be alone.

On another note, anyone have any ideas on why Department of Corrections would be involved in the search?
My only guess is that the staff or approved inmates provided boots on the ground for the search. ??
ETA: I see they used their dogs in the search.

Regarding this trail that she MAY have been on, do any locals know if you can drive maybe a gulf cart/4 wheeler on it?
If it's part of the Colorado Trail, a 4 wheeler would DEFINITELY not be allowed. Prolly not any other walkable or mountain bike trails, either. ATV's (and other machinery) generally have to get used in specific places.
Golf carts? Um, no. Except on golf course subdivisions and senior suburbs in Florida and Arizona. Some wilderness trails are designed disabled-accessible.

In my area an older lady with dementia went missing and the Sheriff's were easily able to find her using infrared thermal cameras from a helicopter.

I'm not sure the Mayville to Monarch area is going to be very amenable to search by helicopter, sadly

I disagree. But even if I agreed, how do we know they haven’t? This would be the very last thing we’d be hearing about.

There is a very strong possibility she has been grabbed. It’s one of about three or four live scenarios based upon her still being missing and what LE has already discounted. That usually leaves the motivation for a kidnapping to be money or sex. If it’s an insider involved, it’s usually the former. You’ve got to consider these as very real possibilities after so many days gone.
I would think IF she were kidnapped for $$ and the family have already been contacted, the nephew wouldn’t be searching on his own or talking to media. Those things would only succeed in pissing off the kidnappers.
Also, the reward wouldn’t have been doubled

I am just curious....
Why is LE providing so little detail (not telling us details of last contact or when last seen, etc.)?
They are apparently casting a wide net asking for tips?
Yet, not warning people to use caution on the trails, etc?
Trails are not shut down.

I am local yet naive to this process.
My heart goes out to her daughters.

Because all the details are not the public's business, and are part of the investigation; LE is determining the timeline, what happened, who what, when, where. The integrity of an investigation has to be protected since cases like this generally end up being litigated in a criminal trial.

The only thing the public needs to do is let LE know if they have specific info relating to SM's disappearance or have seen SM.

Oh wow Colorado has been very active with Missing people and crimes. I really don't like to say this but I don't think she is Ok at att. If she had simply had a accident I don't understand why Le is not releasing any details. The not wanting any public help and no details being released. I am hoping I am wrong but to similar to another case . The way they handle the information and only using Agentchelp ummm. Sounds like not a criminal case that turned to a ..............

I am still getting caught up on the thread today and am only on page 10, but reading about the RV park not far from the house, it brought up a couple other questions for me:

-Have they had any workers to their house recently and/or regularly? Landscapers, lawn care, plumber, etc? All of those professions (at least here in IL) are still allowed to operate during the stay at home order.

-Do they live in the delivery zone of any local restaurant and may have had food delivered recently?

I just wonder if someone was at their home for a legitimate purpose, saw Suzanne and became infatuated, and started stalking her, maybe even seeing she biked solo regularly and waited for the right opportunity. MOO

Wait, I’m sorry, I’m only on page 12 of this thread but in the second interview with the nephew he said “Barry, her husband put up 100k reward and a friend matched it making reward 200k for her safe return no questions asked”

now, my feelings on this case so far;
They purchased a new home for 1.5m but still have not sold their old house (listed but hasn’t sold 600k, if I remember correctly). That’s TWO mortgage payments. She is a school teacher, he is (part?) owner of a landscaping company where they used to live and (owns?) another company in Co.
Two mortgages of that size for a couple with (seemingly) modest incomes is... a stretch.
The 100k put up by the husband, could this be an attempt to evade suspicions ie: He wouldn’t put up that money if he was involved...
if you look at the wording of the reward details, the reward would never need to be paid IF the husband knows she will never be found/returned safely. jmo

What mortgages?

In the previous thread we concluded that the Puma Path Salida CO property must have been a cash buy. No mortgages are recorded against the property - and by law they have to be in CO. They purchased the 7 acre property for $1,575,000 and the only recorded instruments were the Warranty Deed and Water Conservation District Rights for the property, there are no mortgage securities.

There was no sale of their 13 acre Arcadia IN property prior to or at any time after the new Salida purchase that might have been used in part to fund the new property and, according to property records looked at by Heavy.com, they still own the old Arcadia one, with a value of around $796,000 now. No mortgage is registered on that property either from what we can find and it’s no longer listed for sale.

Hattips for the prior sleuthing to @Seattle1 @Knox @oviedo

It is little wonder therefore that the finances and possible sources of wealth here are of interest, and this could be extremely pertinent to this case insofar as motive is concerned.

Maybe lottery or casino wins? Would that show up anyplace?

Im not sure if there is, i edited my post too. I thought someone saying that it said on the listing page of the house that it had camera's, but again not sure.
Oh I am sure that those security cameras weren't working the day she went missing. That seems to be the first thing a suspect makes sure of before they commit their premeditated murder.
