What you wrote reminds me of the case of Sally Allan who walked 11 miles in the middle of the night (early Boxing Day) in her PJs to jump off a bridge in Tyneside. Her husband and 3 kids had no clue what was coming. No note. They had just spent what they thought was a happy Christmas day as a family.

This case may yet turn out to be a suicide, but the cops seem pretty sure who did it and must have some real direction to start digging up half built houses. If the house was completed would there be any way they could gain access to the foundation, or would the killer be home free?

ps: I forgot to quote the original post. Sorry please forgive. Almost beginner.

If he used fire it would be highly noticeable by neighbors right? IMO
I don’t think so, they have 7 acres and only a few homes out there ... if it was on the side of house that obstructed it from closest neighbor ... the house is huge. Since he has equipment, he could have dug a huge hole, Fire not very visible and used accelerants to keep it going for days. Then remove burned items along with dirt and replace with the dirt originally dug out... a landscaper would be proficient at covering signs of disturbance I would think.

I agree about the silence. I still can't get past the fact that the police acted so quickly after a call saying someone is missing at 5:45 pm. No 24 hr wait time for a missing person, no description etc. They found or heard something upsetting enough to get multiple agencies involved immediately.

Maybe the daughters had reason to be worried about their mother's safety at home and knew something was very wrong and that made the police act quicker. JMO.

I hope she is found today also.
Sadly, I do not think this will have a nice outcome.
I have lots of yard work today today and all I can think of is SM and what a lovely person she seems to be and what could have happened to her and where she might be.
Back and forth across the lawn I will be mowing and thinking, thinking, thinking of her and what in the world happened??? I hope they can find her. for some reason I'm thinking that might not happen. :/

And why does someone with a million dollar home need a ******** page???

I would think that the majority of donors to the***account are friends or family. They want Suzanne found & I would assume they are helping cover expenses of family that are there to support the girls, as well as BM. Is it likely that certain bank accounts may have been frozen?

that didn't look like 4" to me and if it was for a garage or parking area I would expect at least 6 inches if you think a vehicle unloaded probably weighs a ton. IMO
Each state has their own building code but here in Florida, 4 " thick slab is required for home but only 3" for driveway or parking area.
But we have totally different codes due to different building methods.

I think LE, upon receiving the initial 911 call would automatically rush to the last known area where a missing bicyclist was reported to have gone missing and / or could not be located by the neighbor. It was just hours before it would get dark. At that point LE may have assumed SM may have suffered a biking accident and finding her and bringing her in for medical treatment could be the difference between saving her life or losing her. That would a very concerning call just on the face of it for LE, imo.

Could LE be looking for a cell phone?
Any news on whether LE have cell phone info or last time anyone spoke or heard from SM?

Likely already answered but one of the DM articles did say she was last heard from on May 9th.
No indication who heard from her, or whether that was voice, text or carrier pigeon.

ITA and cannot understand the reward money that has been put up.

if someone knew Suzanne would not safely return, they could offer a large sum of money they did not actually have .I think money is an important status symbol in Barry's life so .he thought offering a large reward would show the public how much he loved his wife.

I wonder if the daughters received a text message earlier in the day that Suzanne was going for a bike ride perhaps after church. Surely they called or texted their mother early and asked what she planned on doing for Mother's day. When the daughters could not reach her by phone the neighbor checks and the cycle is gone. Suzanne is a recent cancer survivor so this could have added to the emergence of the search by LE.

DM also showed a Facebook post made on SM’s account on May 9th ... the photo of her with her daughters and the accompanying comment Blessed”. If SM indeed made that post, that *might* be what DM is referring to as last known contact from her. OTOH, if someone connected to her disappearance had access to her account, it could be nothing more than a cover and if so, who knows when she was truly last heard from ...?

I’m honestly just curious why that is not good? I’m sure it obvious, but I’m a little slow this morning. What speculations does that lead you all to believe? TIA!
"She also said he stopped responding to media inquiries."
Any media inquires, any time getting SM's face and situation out into the public is a good thing. Its sad when all media inquires have gone silent.

Lauren Scharf (a reporter for FOX21 News) said in her fb live last night that the latest search was the result of a tip. Neighbors of the property involved told her that LE has been working there since Thursday. Even before arriving at the location on Friday, she was told (source not identified) to check another location on Highway 50 and Country Road 240, which she did. State troupers were there (one of them since 3AM) but didn't say why.
The Colorado Herald originally reported that 50 and 240 was where the search was being held. I’m wondering if they had so many press and looky loos going up there that they had to station someone from LE there. Interestingly there is a fire camp up that road.

I don't necessarily think he's innocent but I do think there's a lot of ambiguity in the evidence and it's premature to focus on just him.
Don't police always start inward and work their way out? IMO, it is smart to first focus on and clear the husband, who would be the most likely suspect, especially, since her body seems to be hidden.

If it were a stranger attack, I would think that stranger would leave the body close to the attack. I realize that this is not always the case; however, the police probably work the most obvious situation.

They may have also found evidence in the house. Of course, in a case like Scott Peterson, they took bags and bags of evidence and found nothing in the house. Yet, he murdered his pregnant wife, Laci, and dumped her body in the bay.

He probably would have gotten away with the murder had there not been a big storm causing the her remains as well the the baby's to wash ashore.

I just hope that they are able to solve this case in short order. It would be sad for the girls to never have a resolution.

Hmmm... Where is that spot relative to SM's home? How about relative to the search on the construction site? It would be great to see it geographically on a map/contour.

I’m with you on this one. Idk why but I don’t think the husband has anything to do with her disappearance. If I’m proven wrong, I’ll be the first one to admit it. But I just don’t see it. Moo

I can see it but I can also not see and neither position leaves me feeling comfortable with either decision as the final decision. There's not enough solid, approved information for me to choose which side of the fence to jump down from. Alternative theories have been driving me up the wall since Day 1 and it hasn't gotten any better with time.
