Not trying to sound like a dick, but why do I feel like they're promoting this G F M more than anything?

I've seen more emphasis on this than anything else. Able to put up 200k(albeit 100k came from friend) reward within 48 hours but need 50k g f m.

Yup.
At best, it's unseemly.

Money.
Money.
Money.
Money.

"The love of money is the root of all evil."

I think the love of money will also prove to be at the root of SM's disappearance.

Agreed, Steelslady. And it had to have been obvious to the sheriff immediately that she wasn't lost in the woods or abducted from her bike ride. They must have had some strong evidence right from the beginning. Otherwise, they would have alerted the public right away to what SM and her bike look like and asked for witnesses to come forward.

It makes me think they found evidence of a crime at the house that first night and could tell the bike/bike ride was staged. I can't imagine how else they could rule out other scenarios so quickly to where they don't ask the public for help. I think we will have answers sooner rather than later.

The real estate holdings, including locations and values of both homes, have been reported in MSM.

What's reported in MSM can be discussed here.

The family's financial picture may or may not be relevant.

I think it's entirely possible that financial issues are directly related to SM's disappearance.

Others may disagree, and that's obviously okay…I'd actually prefer to be proven wrong in this instance.

JMO.

We all have individual opinions, the beauty of WS. Many minds and diversity, produce great theories. Which is why we shouldn't try to direct other posters in forum :)

I'm undecided on the financial aspect and whether it plays a role in Suzanne's disappearance.

Waiting for that pressor, hope we aren't disappointed in what the Sheriff/PIO will share in terms of potential new developments.

One thing I'm missing is that someone usually personalizes a missing person for the public.

She is instantly likable, given how photogenic she is and how family oriented and active seems to be, but I don't feel like I know her. Usually there is someone making sure the public gets attached to the missing person by sharing their hobbies, accomplishments, background, etc.

Just an observation. Slightly less urgent in this case, I suppose, as it does have so much coverage already.

In the latest telephone interview with the nephew (link on the last page), I actually had to stop the audio because the shakiness in his voice made me cry, as he was clearly trying not to.
I think he's doing all he can to get the word out about how dear she is to him and the rest of the family, and in doing so, at least for me, he's doing a spot on job of making sure the public knows how loved this woman is by her family.

So they recently bought a 1.7 million dollar house after selling their previous house for $750K. That's a big upgrade! I wonder how they have that much money when the husband is a firefighter and SM + husband own a nonprofit that doesn't appear to bring much wealth.
They might have had a lot of equity in their old home, so the mortgage was the same.

However, it's also not common, I would guess, for empty nesters to move into a grander house. Usually people want to downsize.

I’ve had to step away from WS but this has caught my eye since she is from my neck of the woods.

2 things that may have already been mentioned, it appears their home in Arcadia sold

What year "might be of interest"? Not recent or am I overlooking something?

Kudos to him. (I haven't heard the audio.) I often think about the family and friends who step forward to be the spokesperson. I'd like to think I would do that, but it would be a hard job and one that few us are prepared for.

Thanks for pointing that out.

To add more to your reply- I think they have all the answers as to what happened and probably already have a suspect in mind. It's the gathering of evidence and finding Suzanne that is left.

tthere.
The husband had his own company she had some nonprofit stuff. When u look at the prices for homes in colorado. 1.7 million is really not that wealthy. The reward money caught my eye more than their property. Something about 100k from the husband and 100k from a FRIEND just doesn't sit well with me.

What really hooks the public are sincere appeals from the family. That brings it home, as it did in the Gannon Stauch case. It's heartbreaking and people want to pray, search, help.

However, this also gets the media involved, dozens of pointless tips, etc. So perhaps LE and family together decided not to do that?

Have LE in Colorado jointly decided to strictly control public access to information about a case - and did they therefore advise the family to stay away from cameras?

oh dear - will have to listen but it is reminding me of the love Barbara Thomas's nephew had for her and he joined us on WS.

Empty nesters? She is in her 40s and she has teenage kids. Where are we getting empty nesters from? Did i miss something

Reminder: the LOVE of money is the root of all evil (not just money itself) :)

I'm on the fence on this case.....I can see many possibilities and nothing points to an obvious scenario yet to me, including a money motive. Awaiting more info.

jmo

I'm permanently affixed to the fence until there's more info. Lack of info has us all doing some serious speculating.

Following that same line of thinking she could have been on the phone with the neighbor when the line went dead. No call back and the neighbor called it in. A Bluetooth ear piece or similar. Hard to say how hard she pushed her bike rides and maybe chatting with someone is feasible.
Do we know if there is cellphone service in the area she was in?

Just wondering because I haven't heard any mention of her having a phone with her, and I would think they would have checked her GPS data right away.

I don’t get it either. One daughter is in high school. One is in college one hour away. Most college students I know go home for holidays or even move back after they graduate. I don’t think the girls are leaving the nest quite yet.

No flames from me I think that does give you some kind of idea about a person. I mean it doesn't make them a killer but would say they maybe reckless, maybe claustrophobic, maybe impatient... Lol i don't know but I get what you're saying
Exactly. Maybe arrogance? Feeling invincible, like the laws don't apply to him? JMO.
