Took a 5-mile walk today with DH. More people are out, taking walks, runs, etc. We came back with clearer heads and reduced worries.

Stay sane and healthy, Everyone!

{{{{HUGS}}}}
I was walking around my yard and up and down my long driveway. A small group of cyclists passed by at the end of the drive and cheered me on. Good feelings from my species.

So here is a question for people on here .

does anybody suspect they had this in late January/February?.

Two of my close friends suspected in retrospect that they had it in mid february. They both work in the movie/TV industry in NYC so there are a lot of people coming and going from everywhere. They also had been in Disney World only days before they started showing symptoms. He got sick first and was violently ill and nauseated. He could barely move and had a high fever and headaches. She got sick about 4/5 days after he did and she had the same symptoms. Overall, they were sick for about 2 weeks total. Looking back, he is almost certain they had it.

I am 100% certain I did, after being at a casino not far from Cinci’ airport. I was tested for flu, negative! I had the most insane headache ever, for days, nothing touched it.
That was my main symptom along with fatigue, but my headache was such I could not sleep. A few times I had the feeling I was getting a sore throat but I never had a full fledged sore throat. I saw GP, then allergist. Was advised ragweed was alive & thriving, use a humidifier (I got 100% relief, immediately), rest, otc pain killers. No Rx because “you seem to have a viral infection.). A friend I was with at the casino also had similar symptoms & the muscle aches. She’s a RN & had 2-3 flu tests, all negative.
During our time at the casino, we were exposed to a very large group of tourists from an Asian country, in town/US for meetings.

I am glad to see I am not alone in thinking this. It was interesting to go though my whatsapp and see what I was complaining about with my symptoms and they definitely match up to this. I remember feeling like death for about 4/5 days before I turned the corner.

Respectfully bows my head.

Sorry to hear neighbors. :(

Hey if anyone has been on top of this since day 1 it’s the Canadians moo. I’ve said that since day 1.

I’m speaking from that very first Ontario Presser we watched - I was SO impressed...

Just remembering lol I think I even said that was the best PC I’ve ever seen in my life?

Since then we’ve seen hundreds of PCs...What a trip.

Today at 4 p.m, a few of my neighbors and I had "Happy Hour on the Sidewalk" We each brought our own glass of wine, played "Build Me Up Buttercup" and danced a bit and sipped. Twenty minutes later, we went home. Plan to do it again tomorrow at 4 p.m. Invited more neighbors and assorted folks driving by.

New Mexico is the most awesome place in the world. That's SO New Mexico. And I bet each person there was interesting and had their own things to say. Like WS.

I’m not the least bit crafty when it comes to sewing. I was forced to knit once, the end result was a most lengthy idk what. It only got longer & longer each time I worked on it. It would have made a great scarf for the Statue of Liberty.
Finally, my great grandma made me un-knit (?) it and roll the yarn back up. That was the end of my knitting/sewing adventure.:eek:
Step-By-Step Mask Production Guide

We are overwhelmed with the outpouring support we have received regarding making homemade face masks. Individuals and organizations across the country and the world have reached out to us to not only help sew masks but to inquire about the pattern so they can duplicate in their community. Here is a PRINTABLE version of our mask instructions, pattern and some pictures of the process. We hope this will help healthcare professionals everywhere stay safe and healthy so they can keep caring for patients.

As I fully encompass the impact of this awful virus, I am literally in tears. Thinking long term, so many will not survive. What about summer and picnics, bicycling, swimming, vacations? Thanksgiving? Christmas? What will happen to schools? To people out of work? I just cannot comprehend it all.
I was just wondering about Christmas tonight. Usually I host my whole family and about 12 of us cram into my living room to open gifts after dinner. Maybe last year was the last time like that.

I don't know how to quote @LadyL from the last thread but regarding her post saying that CV came from eating meat... my friends and I (well, most of us are) completely vegan. We have been joking that this wasn't *our* fault! Hey, we have to joke in times like this. That said, please don't take offense if you are a meat eater. We aren't generally judge-y but darn - I have never offended so many in my life as I have when they find out I am vegan. It could be in an online profile and it makes people harass me, send pictures, berate me. Crazy. But yeah - it wasn't out fault! ;)

Hey Age of Aquarius!! It’s Friday happy hour. You know, end of the work week, I mean work season!

This goes out (again) in the spirit of happy hour anyway.

(See 2:00ish mark on video for the dance party “sunshine” part:

“Let the Sunshine In...”
Love love. Brings back memories. Happy Friday all. Cheers.

Big jump today!

Number cases US this morning: 14, 336
Number cases US this afternoon: 19,393

Coronavirus Update (Live): 275,189 Cases and 11,383 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Outbreak - Worldometer

Yes - and big jumps for the next few days, as numbers go up and KITS ARE DEPLOYED. We'll hit a ceiling in numbers when kits are gone, then a jump again (when more are produced). It's really too bad we didn't have some kind of military-based facility for producing kits of this type quickly. We'll never have good data on how this progressed in the US, although individual doctors have a clue.

Do we know which states are producing their own kits?

I took my dog out for a walk and the neighbors a few doors down have a driveway party in progress. I snapped a couple pics and it doesn't even show the additional 10 people on the street/sidewalk. The kids are driving 4 wheelers all over, the alcohol is flowing, and they are having a grand time.

Meanwhile I had an argument with my daughter earlier about her wanting to go to a friend's house. No wonder my kids don't understand.

Can you report this? Does anyone care?
Our newscast did the normal Covid 19 update, advising no contacts, etc., the very next story was about a heart recipient coming from TN to KY to celebrate his donor’s bday with her family. Her family sterilized their home prior to his arrival. Pictures were shown of a very large party. I was thinking....bad move news editor. Great the the recipient is well & got to meet his donor’s family & celebrate, but you JUST opened your newscast with a list of precautions & directives. Smh

Thank you for your kind words. We have about 400,000 people returning from their winter homes far away from the Great White North. It's hard to get home and truly self isolate from the moment they cross the border. Depending on where they came from, their information about Covid-10 might be spotty.

Many Canadians drove up from the Southern States, no doubt buying gas, stopping for some groceries, stopping to use the bathroom, maybe a quick nip into Wal*Mart, then they cross the border and have many more miles yet to go. Once home, there are keys and mail to pick up from the neighbour, more groceries to buy, meds to refill and a few more errands to take care of before they feel they are ready to self isolate.

Meanwhile, they've left a Covid trail like Pig-Pen.

another 627 deaths overnight in Italy and no end in sight.... i am beyond devastated. i have tears streaming down my face as i write this. when will they start to see a decline in cases/death from the lockdown they started two weeks ago ? i hope its soon. they have suffered so much

You say you want to "get it now and have it over" and get immunity that lasts. What about those people over 70 that you might infect? When elderly get it now and get it over......it very likely will over for them. This is not the common cold.
As I'm 60+ and have hypertension, it's not even certain that I will get a mild case, or that I will survive a serious case of Covid-19, but if I get any symptoms of a cold, or the corona virus, I will follow the recommendations from my employer and stay at home as soon as I get symptoms, and for two days after the disappearance of symptoms. Here in Sweden there is nothing like you can only have a certain number of sick-days, if we are ill we can stay at home, with 80 percent of our ordinary wages, so there is nothing that forces us to go to work when ill.

General Motors will help produce ventilators for coronavirus
General Motors in partnership with Ventec Life Systems are collaborating to produce respiratory care products, including ventilators, to fight Covid-19.

Ventec will use GM’s logistics, purchasing and manufacturing expertise to build more of their "critically important ventilators" to help save lives.

“We are working closely with Ventec to rapidly scale up production of their critically important respiratory products to support our country’s fight again the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Mary Barra, GM chairman and CEO. “We will continue to explore ways to help in this time of crisis."

DC's Metro system discouraging riders from visiting cherry blossoms this weekend
An annual tradition for both Washingtonians and tourists are to see the cherry blossoms bloom every Spring.

But the threat of spreading coronavirus has prompted the city's public transit system to take additional steps to its already altered scheduled to discourage people from using the public transportation system to go see them during peak bloom.

Trains will be running on a 30-minute operating schedule, and buses will operate on a Sunday schedule, system officials announced in a Friday statement.
