Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, family members test positive for COVID-19

“Mayor Bottoms also shared with CNN's Chris Cuomo that her husband and one of their children also tested positive.

“This is startling for me because we’ve been so very careful. We’ve taken all of the precautions you can take. We wear mask we wash our hands I have no idea when and where we were exposed," she said Monday.”

I wonder what prompted her to be tested?

I wish them the best. Once upon a time, the New Deal supported artists while they documented and shaped our culture. I look at the success and $$$ from Hamilton and such, and hope that things will get better for them someday soon.
Wonder if New Deal employment would work in today's world. Definitely the US needs infrastructure replacements, our national, state parks could use facelifts, and, as you stated, artists could find employment. Are we, as a country, too elite to do such jobs?

My brother's step-daughter and her husband WERE associated with Broadway plays. They have been told to find other employment. 99.9% certain Broadway and/or off-Broadway will not be returning in the near future. They have not been trained/educated in skills other than acting and producing. Lots of luck.

Yep. I have a friend who is a professional Opera singer. Pretty much no call for that right now!

The short answer ... yes, we all are. We all import people to do out fruit picking.

My country gives 6 month visas (or used to, pre-covid) for others to come to our country and fruit/veg pick. The farmers provide the accommodation, the imported fruit pickers send their wages home to their families (or if they are European backpackers, they use their wages to travel around my country a bit).

But that might change in the future, with things getting this bad.

I've read (sorry no link) that her husband started sleeping lots more so they decided to be tested just in case.

"But what the experts think doesn’t matter to Marsh. He suffers from a different disease, one of the mind and one endemic to Alabama.

He thinks he knows better.

Marsh is not a physician, but he thinks he knows better.

Marsh is not an epidemiologist but he thinks he knows better than them, too.

Marsh is not a public health expert, a virologist, a contagious disease specialist nor even a hospital orderly.

He’s not the governor or the state health officer, but he thinks he knows better than them, too.

None of those people’s opinions matter because Marsh has read some things on the internet.":

Bwahahaha!!!

From your link:

President Donald Trump traveled to the county on Friday on unrelated business. He was met by five local leaders, including a state senator and Gimenez.
From Miami, Trump traveled to Doral, where he received a briefing at US Southern Command, the US military command that covers the Caribbean and Central and South America. Trump will then go to a church nearby for a roundtable discussion with Venezuelans. After that, Trump will attend a private fundraiser in Hillsboro Beach. He is not scheduled to participate in any events related to the pandemic.

I haven’t been paying much attention to airline stuff. Did I recently read that American Airlines is going to full flights now, no seat spacing?

Also, my doctor, who I absolutely love, is apparently taking her large family on vacation to the Bahamas in a few weeks. The mind boggles.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms tests positive for coronavirus

“I'm processing this, all of this. I just received my results. My husband literally has been sleeping since Thursday, which is just not like him, so I decided that we should all get tested again."”

In some part but this started in nations where kids were still in school and we know the death rate or even rate of serious complications in children is vastly lower than most flu or other viruses.
I agree. I found this article to be interesting.

Coronavirus: Why kids aren’t the germbags, and grownups are

“The evidence suggests that children are less likely to become infected, less likely to develop severe disease and less likely to transmit the virus to other children and adults,” said co-author and pediatrician Dr. William Raszka Jr. of the University of Vermont School of Medicine. “It is wildly different from flu.”
