We are not even going to start vaccinating until March. The Prime Minister refuses to move his preplanned schedule. Nobody seems to be kicking up a fuss about that though.

Myself, I will be vaccinated really late in the schedule. Probably late next year - at a guess.

Federal acting chief medical officer Paul Kelly has welcomed the approval of coronavirus vaccine Moderna in the US but will not commit to rolling out doses faster in Australia, saying emergency use of the jab is currently not necessary.

"In terms of timing they do of course need to get through the regulatory approvals here in Australia," Professor Kelly said, adding the local independent Therapeutic Goods Administration is in "constant" discussions with the FDA and other international groups.

"We’ve said all along we’re aiming for March. That will be on the back of the TGA giving their full approval. We’re not going to rush that," he said on Saturday. "Safety is our first priority."

So, do I assume that there will still be long-term bans on letting AMericans travel there?????
Asking for a friend.......

I like that they make an appointment for the 2nd vaccination at the time the 1st one is given

Yeah, it may be a cluster for when the two vaccines overlap now as the one with a 3 week timing is going to overlap with the 4 week timing.

Does anyone here have a link as to where we can find how many doses were given the first week or day by day? Is that information (which IS COLLECTED) going to be public knowledge?

(I had to type the article title into a Google Chrome incognito tab to read it)

This isn't exactly what you are looking for, because the information is dependent on and limited to, what has been reported, so not an accurate real time accounting
If you scroll down, it lists each state

"The survey found that at least 128,000 people have received one dose, a figure that is certain to be a significant undercount because many states did not provide data, and some that did provide vaccination figures cautioned that there were delays in reporting that information. Some states provided detailed information, while others only provided partial information or did not respond."

Georgia college student sentenced to four months in prison for breaking Cayman Islands' Covid-19 protocol - CNN

This article oozes with the slime of entitlement mentality. Minimizing and justification is epic here.

I, applaud the fact that at least one country is making a stand for public health. The criminal knew the law, she was supposed to quarantine for two weeks. She is an adult, and deliberately broke the law, based on her own personal wants. Textbook example of criminal thinking. Disregard for others, and deliberate flaunting of a law.

Now, she is in prison. Consequences of her behavior. I don't think that it is overly harsh at all. Should people be allowed to break laws, and expect to just say, "Sorry", and move on? No.

The couple across from us left for Vegas today. They are in their mid 60s.
Then another family across the street is having a party, 8-10 cars in the drive.
Two weeks ago, our daughter was deployed to help out at the hospital overwhelmed from Covid.
Not looking forward to not seeing our kids and grandkids for weeks at a time this winter. Also not not looking forward to being cooped up all winter. But it’s the prudent thing to do.
I feel like I’m living in the Twilight Zone.
I can relate to your feelings. Like watching others going on trips, visits and doing the normal fun things in a carefree manner. I find it hurtful and get low spells feeling helpless and like there's never going to be a safe chance being part of together with loved ones. Not clear if I should take a chance to visit my daughters family over Christmas with my 2 little grandsons and just mask up. Miss all my loved ones. This crushed heart, panicky plus crying state of mind sure is not healthy either. Take care, know you are not alone, hugs.

I vaguely remember both the "gun" and the suger cube... Did we have two doses, or maybe boosters????????????????
I think polio was the sugar cube and smallpox was the gun. I don’t remember the gun but it must have been quite something given the weird scars it left. Circular with little pinpoint scars around it.

It’s a clinic inside a large building, besides our clinic there is a lab upstairs (unrelated to our clinic) and several non-medical offices. There are a couple of small business like a hair salon, a smoothie place, small restaurant snd a spa.

The coffee shop is in the atrium/lobby. No security or management on site.
Whoever owns the building needs to handle it since it’s a safety issue. If you have a maintenance issue or complaint - do you have a phone number you contact for the property manager or group that handles building issues?
I’d start calling in work orders every day!
I used to do that when they let smokers smoke at the entrance and I had to walk thru the wall of smoke.

When was that Polio gun vaccine used? I remember in school we lined up for some kind of gun looking shot in the arm but no clue what it was. That was horrible waiting in line watching, geez. Plus I have a strange circle mark on my leg as I remember Mom saying she had our leg done because of scarring?

@Colorado303 so sorry to hear about your Mom. Hoping she will have a mild case. Several of my friends mothers have had Covid, and been okay.

I do believe that there are different strains of this virus. Not sure what the research is on this.
Thank you everyone for your best wishes! She’s still feeling fine and doesn’t understand she’s being segregated for the protection of others. Not being able to leave her apartment and everyone in full PPE confuses her but fortunately she’s not aware enough to worry. She thinks she’s getting special privileges having meals delivered so she’s happy as a clam. I’m worrying enough for both of us, but better me than her.

That was smallpox vaccination.

Regarding Christmas: the best advice I have heard is to remember that you are not only inviting people to your home, you are inviting every person each of them has been in contact with as well.

Even if you are only inviting family members, stop and consider the coworkers and friends that each of your family members have been in contact with in the past two weeks. Then picture all of those people in your home for Christmas dinner.

Horrible thought! My 2 grandsons are in daycare so its those people too! Plus their Dad and his coworkers and my daughter cares for covid patients at times but tests twice a week. Just no winning in any for sure safe visit, not sure what I will choose in the next while, my husband is the type as I have mentioned before that actually has yelled at me at times about my precautions. He would visit every weekend, no mask even. I said I will consider a mask visit but that might be only he and I wearing, doubt the family will. I for sure won't visit without one and if he won't wear one I sadly will not visit. My sisters husband is feeling better with Covid so far she has tested negative in order to go back to work she needs another negative. Rumor is a gas station worker had Covid!

Even back on March 2nd here on these threads we were discussing stuff as to endemic on threads here, even with vaccines. Yep.

Good that there is little drift as to the target for the spike protein, yet yes... if no herd it's endemic. And then still can be. Think of decades to get rid of those that have almost NO drift to vaccines... (e.g. measles, mumps... same for decades)... and how still comes back.

The world did an amazing job with smallpox and polio. Those were the days.

That is a great thought and I hope people listen!!!

Just think, people here in the United States call Governors like Whitmer and others who want to implement more stringent restrictions "dictators" "biotches"-- etc.
