Thank goodness that's the UK. Allowing my teenager to consent to a non-FDA approved vaccine from which everyone is immune from liability is definitely the hill I would die on.

The full approval is expected in early September and it will be the same vaccine currently in use. Will your stance remain the same after full approval?

Only for a short period. People who have had COVID 19 still need to get vaccinated.

Frequently Asked Questions about COVID-19 Vaccination
Yep. I know several - in the EMT/LE/ Firefighter occupations that had Covid this year and 2-3 months later - had it again. Each time resulted in a hospitalization. Pneumonia, blood clots, cardiac. Still unvaccinated.
I can’t understand their thought process, the first time would have been enough for me to get the shot.
How many times do you want the spin the chamber?

I'm feeling we will never ever be done with COVID. Texas Education Agency released guidance for schools on how to handle positive COVID-19 cases. The stupidity is just staggering. God save us. Back to School: Vaccination requirements for North Texas schools | wfaa.com

For minor children? Yes. I might change my decision about whether to allow them to get it, but never without my consent. The fact that it's not currently FDA approved is just the icing on the "over my dead body" cake lol

Are you ok with unapproved, off label covid treatment protocols?

I'm sort of in the same boat as this guy, but I haven't been kicked out of anything. I am all for the vaccine! I have had Bell's Palsy twice - when I was 18 and again in my early 30's. I eventually recovered the first time, but the second time left me with a permanent lazy eye and numbness on the inside of my cheek that will never go away - not to mention the intense headaches that I still have on that side of my head only.

I keep to my small circle and wear a mask, but have not vaccinated (same for flu shots, hepatitis shots, shingles, etc) - I struggle with and pray about it, but the odds on the Bell's Palsy thing are scary. I had Covid back in August, and thankfully made a full recovery.

I am truly grateful for every single person that vaccinates because without risking paralysis, you are my only hope that we reach herd immunity. Thank you all!!

edited for spelling

We eventually got the J&J. With Mitochondrial disease and carnitine deficiency, our specialists said J&J was it after originally telling us "No shot". I also did a awful lot of research ( not the news) on ingredients, action, microbiology, the works.

This option is a blessing to many who may not react well to the 2 dose- and it upsets me it is not an option at many vaccine sites. Something you may want to look into- of course, personal choice and all.

Boosters are not allowed in the US as of yet. So the reason would be to get the third dose.

I was at the outreach site today at our rec enter bringing a nurse friend lunch. No ID, no License, no insurance. You signed the consent form- anyone could have got a 3rd shot if they didn't talk about it. Vax rate is so low here, they ask for nothing but consent.

I don't ask anyone about their vaccine status. But many people are very vocal and militant about their denial about Covid, they scoff that it is just "flu", and a bunch of drama over nothing. What really is unusual, is that many highly educated, professional people, do not believe in the vaccine. <modsnip>

There is a database of vaccinated people the pharmacist can look you up at.

We’ve attempted to find vaccine dates for known vaccinated individuals with no luck. So whatever comprehensive database exists, it is far, far from perfect. If one really wanted a third dose, it wouldn’t be difficult to get it.

That is the truth. I couldn't believe how unprepared and underfunded the local health departments were to deal with the data needed to provide the CDC with Covid cases and testing data. It is so antiquated and ridiculous, I believe that the data the CDC has been using to make decisions is suspect.

We were handwriting reports, and dropping them off. It was ridiculous. Not even an Excel program to upload results.

I’ve have two coworkers that have had it twice plus vaxed - and honestly at this point have a “whatever” attitude about covid (for themselves anyway) I mean they got the vax so doing their parts. Not sure how concerned they were about it previously. One has probably had it since being vaxed as well.

Also noted during a recent Emergency room visit - some front line medicalworkers/ first responders feel kind of invincible/ btdt / a “just the flu” thing and /or have lax safety protocols in the high risk workplace And some are just honestly imo done with worrying about it all.

Not before long, we might encounter vaccine overdose cases if accurate records are not maintained. If some people literally drank bleach to kill Covid, what would stop them from getting 5 more shots in addition to the 2 already received. Worried.

As long as the drug is tested and is safe, and I have a need for it, and someone can be held responsible if it ISN'T safe, I'm okay with off label uses. An off label use of an approved drug is 1000% different than an unapproved drug for which no one can be held responsible imo. For example, if someone told me that an antibiotic that has been safely taken by millions of people for years could help with some other condition, I wouldn't have a problem trying it. The only "harm" is that it won't work for MY condition. I think there is such a drug that was initially recommended for Covid, but the name escapes me. It's been safely used for years to treat RA. jmo

I doubt this will apply to the thousands upon thousands entering the country illegally through the southern border.

Yes. It has been an interesting time for the United States government. Rules were implemented, and then, the realization was that we treated people who came across the southern border completely differently than folks coming across from Canada. Basically, there were no rules on the southern border, and extreme measures regarding quarantine times for folks from Canada. The lack of consistency was glaring.

So, now, we have no rules. Great plan.

Drug companies cannot be held responsible for off label use.
