Katy and Bob live a perfect life in a small close knit town. He's a respected lawyer, a renowned tri-athlete. She just had twins. It is New Year's Eve. Teens converge on the house next door. Always the good neighbor, Bob goes to shut it down. A confrontation occurs. Then he's dead. No teen comes forward. The media pours in. Headlines scream. Katy hunts for answers. But no one talks. A bond of silence covers the town. The police do an undercover sting and someone's caught. Ryan, a popular kid, tries to be cool, but the burden of what he did that night is unbelievable. Ryan and his attorney want to plead not guilty, but then Katy and Ryan meet. Where Katy should be a grieving wife, she becomes a supportive mother. Rather than berating, she listens. Rather than accusing, she comforts. And Ryan tells her what happened. Step by step. When Ryan appears in court he pleads guilty. He turns to Katy. The look between them is one of compassion and shared loss. Katy pleads for leniency and makes a horrible ending be a hope-filled beginning.

6:00PM (EDT) Fatal Honeymoon (2012)

Based on a true story, Fatal Honeymoon tells the shocking story and controversy surrounding a newlywed who tragically dies on her dream honeymoon and the subsequent investigation as to whether or not her husband was guilty of killing her. In the film, Alabama couple Gabe Watson and his new bride, 26 year-old Tina Watson, married just 11 days, go on their dream honeymoon to scuba dive near Australia's Great Barrier Reef, where Tina drowns in what appears to be a freak accident. With authorities puzzled over Gabe's inconsistent statements about Tina's death, her father Tommy Thomas begins to suspect Gabe may have murdered his daughter. When an underwater photo of Tina lying motionless on the ocean floor emerges, Australian authorities begin to suspect foul play, charge Gabe with his wife's death and extradite him to their country, where he eventually pleads guilty to manslaughter and serves 18 months in prison. Alabama prosecutors, agreeing with Tommy's suspicion Tina was murdered and Gabe had possibly planned it before they left the state, decide to pursue murder charges in the United States. But, due to lack of evidence, the judge dismisses the case - causing many to wonder what a jury would've made of the evidence and leaving Tommy with more unanswered questions about what actually happened to his daughter on her honeymoon.

Over nearly 20 years, Det. Dave Reichert of the King's County Sheriff's Department investigated a series of brutal murders by a serial killer who became known as the Green River Killer after the location where some of his early victims were found. All the victims were women involved in prostitution. The police used the tools available at the time including an FBI profiler. They even interviewed serial killer Ted Bundy who was on death row at the time and offered his insight into the killer. Several men came under suspicion and were interviewed at length and at one point, Reichert was convinced he knew the identity of the killer. It was not until DNA matching came into being that they had the evidence to proceed. The killer eventually admitted to killing 71 women.

6:00PM (EDT) She Made Them Do It (2013)

This made-for-TV movie follows the twisted life of Sarah Pender (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) a charismatic, intelligent young woman who would become one of the country’s most sought after fugitives. Purportedly on the road to a productive and successful life after being abandoned by her mother at the age of three, Sarah enrolls in college. While she was dealing drugs out of her home with her boyfriend Rick Hull as a means to pay for school, Sarah’s two roommates are tragically shot to death in what appeared to be a deal gone bad. Although she claimed she was not home when the murders occurred, all evidence pointed to Sarah and Rick, and she was eventually found guilty of masterminding the double murder and sentenced to 110 years in prison. A model inmate studying law in hopes of appealing her case while also helping fellow convicts with their cases, Sarah becomes increasingly desperate as her appeals continue to be denied. At the end of her wits, she uses her charm to seduce a prison guard and convince former cellmate Jamie Long (Mackenzie Phillips) to help her escape, leading authorities on an intense search that attracts national attention and puts her on the top of the list of "America’s Most Wanted."

8:00PM (EDT) Blue-Eyed Butcher (2012)

Texas beauty Susan Wright appeared to have a fairytale life with an adoring husband, Jeff, two beautiful kids, and close family and friends. But in 2003, six years into their marriage, the fairy tale crumbles when Jeff is found dead and buried in the backyard of their suburban home. The close-knit community is shocked as police accuse Susan of pre-meditated murder -- luring her husband into the bedroom, tying him up and violently stabbing him almost 200 times before haphazardly cleaning up the crime scene. As Jeff's family reels from the devastating news, Susan begins to mount her aggressive defense; that she needed to kill Jeff out of self-preservation for herself and her children after years of physical and mental abuse. But prosecutor Kelly Siegler is skeptical of her defense and forcefully argues she is a cunning, doe-eyed sociopath, who has used her good looks to try to get away with anything in life -- even murder. The jury rejected her claim of self-defense, and sentenced "the blue-eyed butcher" to 25 years in prison for murder. In 2009 the Texas appeals court granted Wright a new sentencing hearing, after determining that her "counsel rendered ineffective assistance during the punishment phase of trial." On November 20, 2010, Wright was re-sentenced to 20 years in prison, five years less than her original sentence.

From Ann Rule's book and starring John Corbett and Sara Canning, this Lifetime Original Movie is based on the haunting true story of the year-long manhunt for a killer suspected of murdering 14 victims and committing numerous sexual assaults up and down the I-5 highway corridor through California, Washington and Oregon. As Detective Dave Kominek (Corbett) starts to discover similarities in the cases, the more he becomes determined to prove the seemingly unrelated killings are the work of one man. Tonight on LMN:

8:00PM (EDT) (Repeated at midnight) The Hunt for the BTK Killer (2005)

Actor Greg Henry stars as the elusive serial killer who terrorized Kansas residents for seventeen agonizing years while taunting the authorities and claiming the lives of ten random and unsuspecting victims. Inspired to revisit the case on the anniversary of the killer's emergence, the media inadvertently prompts a serial killer who had once gone into self-induced retirement to begin prowling the streets of Wichita in search of potential victims. Detective Jason Magida (Robert Forester) is a cop who remembers all too well the terror that the BTK killer inflicted on the community as he launched a gruesome campaign to bond, torture, and kill his helpless "projects" after staking them like an animalistic predator, but that was back in the mid-1970s. Is it really possible for a serial killer to suppress their murderous instincts long enough to evade capture, only to lash out once again decades later? When a killer who seems to share the same modus operandi as the original BTK killer begins claiming victims and the citizens of Wichita once again begin locking their doors at night, Detective Magida and his partner (Michael Michele) set out to put an end to the killings, and the rampant fear that has gripped the quiet Kansas town, once and for all. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
