It's my understanding that one can turn off the location settings on the iPhone....
Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

So, if FD had two iPhones, he could have one with the location setting on and another with it off...UGH!

That has to do with location tracking within apps, like ones that use Google. That is very specific information.

Even if location tracking is turned off, phones still communicate with cell phone towers.

That’s where “pings” come from.

We only know of the one phone FD turned in with his attorney on sat 5/25 at 14:47
Arrest warrant
Now because of the motion his atty filed we know they picked up a second phone
Eta no idea when they got the second phone or where it was retrieved from as they served multiple search warrants on his properties
Perhaps the second phone was strictly a business phone and was picked up under warrant at JC when they were at his house.

Wondering if the Chevy Suburban FD wants back is connected to the license plates altered with adhesive tape found in the storm drain?

Arrest Warrant said the license plates when queried unaltered came back to a 2007 Chevy Suburban as Status cancelled and registered to FD.

We all have been wondering when and what vehicle the altered plates were used on.
Either Fulos doesn’t want it back, or the police didn’t seize the white Toyota Tundra registered to him. Lemme guess, it was stolen.

They have a warrant. No fourth amendment rights have been violated.

He's not getting any evidence back until after trial.

Exactly

Once had a car stolen that was used during a murder, the impound called me 3 years later and said I could come pick it up, they never contacted me that they had even found it and I had collected insurance money back when it happened.

Plenty of people are making fun of his name. Isn't making fun of someone's name disrespectful to his parents (who are innocent parties here btw)? So why aren't we objecting to that? He has no control over his name but he can work on his accent. So he gets no sympathy there. Btw what makes FD ugly isn't his heritage, his accent, nor his name. It is what he did that makes him so disgusting.
I'm not a fan of making fun of people's names or calling them names, because it cheapens the argument one is trying to make. Perfecting an accent can be much easier for some people than others, despite making an effort. I wholeheartedly agree with your last sentence.

Didn’t @Chessman from personal observation that JD’s house on Welles Lane is close to the end of a cul-de-sac? Like JDs house is the last one on the end before the cul-de-sac? I can’t believe that missed my thinking about how the perpetrator (FD or possible hires party) could have parked near by and approached the house on foot for the blitz attack in the garage. Or how one wouldn’t be suspicious necessarily by a vehicle they didn’t recognize behind them and turning around. So Welles Lane ends in a cul-de-sac? This helps me with my theory that I have so far been too chicken to post!
Her home is up a driveway with the garages (3) on the right hand end of the home out of sight from the street. Someone could drive up the street and go right up the driveway and out of sight.

The other homes are far enough apart, the homes big enough that someone could come in unseen unless they were standing in the front of their homes looking out the window.

As long as FD is not charged with murder, NP is free to muddy the waters away with regards to FDs alibi on the day of the 24th. He has also changed his statements a few times with regard to said FD alibi. To wit: NP first said he was able to account for almost all of the time for FD, then he said meeting with attorney and phone call from Greece, then he said most recently that FD couldn’t have driven to NC and back and killed JD and disposed of her body in 4 and 1/2 hours. He’s just doing what he does and I won’t pay anything he says about the critical hours of May 24th into mind until LE and the prosecution present a timeline. Which they will do when he is charged with murder. NP has given up on the Hartford trashbin odyssey of stupidity dump because that’s been proven with CCTV and cell phone data and he’s given up on trying to provide an alibi for that.
ITA. Doesn’t it speak volumes that NP keeps changing his story? I hope the state’s attorney is noting every change and will mention it in court as the “truth” doesn’t keep changing. Just like if a defendant’s story kept changing during questioning by LE would be suspicious.

This guy makes Chris Watts look like childs play, unfortynately! I think there has to be way more sophisticated searching going on as far as construction business , ie concrete and cement, he is very calculating and so is the gf!!! Sorry gut feeling :(

If FD had followed Chris Watts' case he wouldn't have been so clueless about how cameras and cell phones can wrap you up in a guilty ball and deliver you gift-wrapped to LE.

I would bet every bag of cement FD's company owns has been held for evidence so that when they find her body they can check that against what is holding her down.

The good thing about LE is they have access to people who have seen bodies disposed of in every way.
There is nothing new under the sun and when you throw in a nervous, adrenaline-filled criminal (or two), slip-ups are expected. Throw in some weed as I suspect and...well...there ya' go.

When you start to speak of FD being "calculating", stop and remember the camera-captured, crime scene distribution jaunt! Three Stooges material, I say.

Perhaps the second phone was strictly a business phone and was picked up under warrant at JC when they were at his house.
I wish they listed the phone number in the warrant. We know his website listed a cell phone number and it would make sense he would have a separate phone for personal - so which did he hand over willingly Saturday 5/25 with his atty and more importantly why not turn over both? I suspect the second one was what he communicated with MT - all JMO and what phone pinged 5/24 at Sturbridge ?

ITA. Also, the way he asked his realtor if he had heard the news and sounded excited... not a typical disposition from a concerned husband and father. MOO
I believe it was the court appointed GAL that he was so excited about telling the news to (an attorney appointed to represent the well-being of the kids). This is going to weigh on his case I imagine. This person is charged with being impartial to both sides in a custody case.

I’m still wondering if he made his way through the woods in the back of her property / we know he was there Wednesday 5/22 and could have scoped out a potential path/ would love to know his cell phone pings that day and the days before JMO

He wouldn't put them back in his garage probably because he was scared of LE detecting the tape residue on those expired plates. Many have said that the plates scream premeditated but if they were altered in a halfa$$ed way, doesn't that mean he might have done it spur of the moment? He doesn't seem like a guy who likes making mistakes or getting caught. JMO

Doing it “ on the spur of the moment” is still pre-meditation, legally

Although it’s ludicrous, FD might contend they were altered 10 years ago for some non-criminal reason.

More importantly, LE needs to document they were used in the planning, action, or aftermath directly related to the crime. That brings in Pre-Meditation.

I think it’s clear to any normal person that these were altered in a deliberate pre-meditated fashion and used during the crime and / or it’s direct aftermath.

But then you have juries and they have been known to believe unreasonable things.

State of Connecticut says you are to turn them in. No one ever does because there is not penalty enforced if you don't. Almost everyone I know has any number of plates nailed or tucked on the walls of their garages.

So the vehicle they were put on would not be recognized either by JD or license readers or surveillance cameras.

I have absolutely no idea as to this third question when he could simply have pulled the tape off and put them back on the garage wall.
In CA, plates follow the vehicle and not the person. The plate has a month and a year sticker, so when you renew your registration this year, you put the "2019" sticker over your "2018" sticker and you're good to go. If you sell your car, the plate stays with it. But my aunt and uncle in another state have a wall full of license plates on their garage wall. How does that work? If I sell my car, I take the plates off and the new owner has to get his own?

@MassGuy .
Help me out here. When did they get the phones?
Was it not until around 2 on Saturday?
Didn't they go to Albany ave. at that time or a few hours after?
Am I losing it?
Walk me through it.
TIA.

They got one phone from FD on Saturday, May 25. JD disappeared on Friday, May 24. The search of Hartford based on the cell phone pings of his phone was on the following Friday, May 31st.
Jennifer Dulos investigation heads to Hartford

In Connecticut the plates follow the owner so if I sell my car I keep the plates. The new owner has to show bill of sale and proof of insurance to DMV to get his own set of plates. If I buy a new car then I can use the plates on the new car.

We’ve had several locals say that you have to surrender your plate in CT - but rarely do -it is possible that when he formed his plan he thought about someone seeing the employees truck (my guess he used that Friday morning) and altered the plates and used those on that truck - and figured a fedex box in a sewer drain was a great way to get rid of them IMO (and I still wonder if he re-used a fedex box addressed to him/fore group - now that would be priceless JMO
