Police also discovered a bra that they believe is hers as well as two mops and some sponges with small amounts of blood on them, according to law enforcement sources.

The items, found in a black contractor bag police recovered during their search along Albany Avenue several days after Dulos disappeared on May 24, are central to the investigation into what happened to Dulos – and what role her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, may have played in connection with her disappearance. Police have said there is video of Dulos throwing multiple bags into trash cans and dumpsters along Albany Avenue starting at about 7 p.m. on the day she disappeared.

Jennifer Farber Dulos has been missing for two months. Here’s what we know, and what we don’t, about the search for the mother of five. »

Dulos and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, have been charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. Both are free after posting $500,000 bail. Dulos is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 9.

Authorities have yet to release an official accounting of what exactly was in the blood-coated bags or what they were looking for during a three-week search of a Hartford trash plant where some of the Albany Avenue garbage had been taken before police realized the bags had been dumped there. It is unclear if police have video or witness statements indicating what Farber Dulos was wearing the day she disappeared, but sources said family members have confirmed to police that Farber Dulos frequently wore a similar Vineyard Vines T-shirt.

“I just want to tell my children that they’re constantly on my mind and that I love them and miss them very much,” says Fotis Dulos, at center, in a brief statement to the media outside Stamford Superior Court on June 26. From left is attorney Rich Rocklin, Dulos, and attorney Norm Pattis.

Attorney Norm Pattis declined to comment on specific evidence police said they found during their investigation but he did confirm that prosecutors recently turned over discovery documents to him that include 26 CDs showing footage of the Albany Avenue trash dump. Pattis said the defense team has been unable to open some of the videos that reportedly show a man resembling Dulos dumping the trash. He has asked Stamford/Norwalk State’s Attorney Richard Colangelo for new copies of several of the CDs.

“The State has alleged that Jennifer’s blood was in one or more bags. That is far more troubling than an item of clothing,” Pattis said.

Sources said police traced Dulos and Troconis to Albany Avenue through their phones which showed they were there around 7 p.m that night.

State police did a widespread search of the neighborhoods surrounding Albany Avenue a week after Farber Dulos disappeared – checking trash cans, people’s backyards and dumpsters. They were searching for any pieces of garbage that may have been taken away from the dumpsters along Albany Avenue.

The search then moved to the Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority’s trash-to-energy plant in Hartford’s South Meadows. Since garbage pickup was delayed by one day because of Memorial Day, most of the trash from the Albany Avenue area had not been incinerated.

State police detectives combed through garbage at a Hartford trash-to-energy plant for weeks looking for evidence in the investigation of the disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Farber Dulos who has been missing since May 24.

As many as 15-20 detectives a day worked at the plant, going through 30-35 tons of trash daily searching for evidence from trash dumped on Albany Avenue on the night of May 24. State police never said what they were looking for but part of what they were searching for is the rest of her clothes, sources said. They have not revealed if they found any possible evidence from that search.

Investigators knew the trash plant search would be time-consuming and possibly fruitless.

Sources said many of the garbage cans in that neighborhood had already been emptied before police arrived. Some of the trash was picked up by private contractors on a different day than the city’s trash day and not immediately taken to the trash plant or mixed with other trash.

The last stop police said Dulos made was at the intersection of Albany Avenue and Garden Street where authorities said he dropped a FedEx package into a storm drain. State police fished out the package a week later and found altered license plates in it belonging to a car Dulos used to own.

While Dulos was allegedly making his way down Albany Avenue, friends of Farber Dulos were calling New Canaan police to report her missing. Prosecutors have said investigators found evidence that an assault occurred in the garage of her New Canaan home but they have been unable to find her body.

Farber Dulos, 50, went missing after dropping her kids off at the New Canaan Country School between 8 and 8:30 a.m. on May 24.

Police said she missed two appointments in New York City that day and was eventually reported missing by friends around 7 p.m. Her black 2017 Chevy Suburban was found on a road near Waveny Park about 4 miles from her New Canaan home.

She and her estranged husband have been embroiled in a bitter two-year custody battle, a contentious case full of back-and-forth accusations of ignoring court orders, threatening each other in front of the children and allegations of threats to hurt the children or each other.

The couple’s five children have been staying at their grandmother Gloria Farber’s New York City apartment since May 24. This week, Farber filed a motion in family court seeking sole custody of the couple’s children.

Oh my gosh, this is so sad. Even though most of us are convinced that he/FD is the one responsible (with of course possibly an accomplice) for JD's death/disappearance, just hearing of her clothing items that he disposed of and cleaning supplies, just really hits a person hard. It sure does worry me now that he may have dismembered her, otherwise why remove her clothing if he was just planning on disposing of her body? Also, how big were these "contractor bags" Must be pretty good size to dispose of mops also? Maybe it's just the mop heads?

It just brings me to tears, again. It is so, so sad. I feel so bad for Jennifer's children, her mom, other family members and friends. I just cannot imagine what they are going through...Prayers are with them and for Justice for Jennifer - the sooner the better!!!!

“I am unaware of any evidence about what she was wearing when she disappeared,” he said. “This sounds like desperate speculation.”

I bet Vineyard Vines has record of the purchase of that shirt. I don’t know how long they keep records but The Murray brothers are from Greenwich, CT I believe and would be willing to help!

This stmt is stunning! No Case Norm has been screaming from the hilltops for weeks now about discovery and he has wanted something to work with to put his case together for his client.

NOW, some information is released and what does he claim? He claims "desperate speculation"!

Time for the gag order to shut this circus down!

I bet NP doesn’t last long as FD’s attorney for even the criminal case. Even FD will realize NP’s antics are backfiring. MOO

Agree with all except for the gag order.
Fotis is toast, IMO.
Nothing Norm says will save him.

My guess is that FD only choice on counsel at this point given his financial situation is No Case Norm or Public Defender.

For my money I'd go with the Public Defender at this point as with the way the Pattis show is going FD just should show up at BPT jail to start serving his term and not wasting time being 'free' with his ankle bracelet.

What's funny is that the lack of gag makes it possible for us to have some info to discuss here, so it would hinder sleuthing absolutely. But I've followed cases with a gag in place and its doable.

But the reason I support the gag here is that I do believe in the role of strong defense representation for the accused. In this case though I believe that the Pattis Patter is actually hurting FD so in a way the gag might protect FD from the antics of his atty and focus Pattis on the task of defending his client in court and not out of court. This is clearing MOO and could be debated endlessly.

I'm not sure trying cases in public does much for justice but this can be debated endlessly I suppose.

So, heads you win and tails I lose or visa versa!

Sad thing is, who would know what she was wearing that morning when she dropped the kids off at school? (the 5 kids).

Also, Plaintiff is abusing court system, overreaching and might put him out of business
“Waging a war of attrition “
Oh my.

Reckless allegations include asking to be repaid for money borrowed?

Looks like we have a good game of hardball on our hands!

Looks like FD is looking for a mechanism to pay his attorneys and get some gas money or enough to buy a house in Greece!

Curious to see what the Judge thinks of this maneuver. My guess is that the next filing will have a notice from the court with the word "Denied".

Stay tuned.

I bet there are witnesses or friends that saw her when she dropped the children off at school. I don't think the State would have released this info via source to HD without having this all totally buttoned up with witness statements.

Omg. I knew the outcome but this makes it so personal to her and makes me so sad and sick—and furious at FD and anyone else involved!

Depending on color, design and clarity, cctv footage could show it and anyone who might have seen her in the drop off line at school or facetimed with her that morning. The kids would also know (if it even registered).
