Afitzy,

Thanks for your hard work on this case. Thanks for JD and her children. Thanks for all of us who have been reading along and not posting. The locals on this thread are wonderful too. This is one thread where everyone is pulling together and praying for JDs family, for quick resolution of this case and for immediate justice. Bless you all!
This deserves a double like.
So many good people on this board.
Such a pleasure to read here.
Hoping as things heat up it will stay this way.
MOO.

You're right we don't have clear info on the weapon used but my guess is there's a reason
LE mentioned the knife found and traded away
from the trash cans on Albany.
In reading about other murder cases it's not unusual for blunt force trauma attack to come first and THEN the perp uses a knife to slit the
throat to insure the victim injury is fatal.
I also came upon a comment by investigators
in several crimes where LE said a small pillow
was used to collect blood from a knife wound
as perps had no idea the victim would bleed so
much so quickly. Catch that? A pillow.
I've also been reading on crimes committed
with such hatred toward the victim that when
the body was found, LE determined horrible
torture had been inflicted upon the victim.
One perp poked holes all over the body.
Another played tic tac toe w/ a knife on the body.
I'm afraid I fear some of these horrible things
could have been done based on JD's description of how hateful FD was towards her
and anyone who crossed him.
If MT is aware of these horrible activities or
assisted in any way she should be charged just
as FD is.
I still think when we have all the information we will all be shocked at the inhuman ways
JD was treated. And it currently irks me everyday that FD and MT are still out and free.
Just waiting for the day of the perp walk.
This is chilling and scary.
I do remember reading that they found blood and other evidence in the garage. Wonder what that was? Could it have been another weapon like a baseball bat?
The pillow part is interesting, too, especially when reading the DD's description that it had a quart of blood on it.
I keep thinking he stabbed her.....more than once, and hit an artery. Up close and personal with RAGE. Gruesome, I know.
And we know nothing of the state of her VV shirt and bra.
Enjoy all of your posts.

i'm someone who used to jog/run in years past and so looking at those monitors i could see how they might move up and down on the ankle during a jog/run and be uncomfortable. if they actually do move up and down during exercise question i have is given the presumption of innocence do these style monitors adversely burden the accused? i can relate to either yes/no as an answer. FD supposedly thinks a monitor on his wrist would be better. i think those would also be an issue during exercise. i use to wear a somewhat lose fitting watch during jogs and that thing would move up and down the wrist and it had nowhere near the mass/weight of a wrist monitor. too bad the state can not just implant a gps monitor chip in the his back.
I struggle with any concern for an accused felon's comfort while exercising.

If jogging is necessary for FD's daily survival he can check into the jail, remove the GPS device and exercise to his heart's content in a cell or run around the TV room.

I had lunch with a friend today and we discussed how much we both miss the days of real investigative journalism. Like those Boston Globe folks or the Washington Post’s Woodward and Bernstein. Not parrots who repeat, repost, and regurgitate drivel. JMO
Yep, with you on this.

But the good news is that its been replaced by the 100s of minds here on WS and all the eyeballs that read the content who care about GF, JD and her 5 children!

Ha! Just had to go to the Residence Inn in Avon for work. I saw a white Audi with a Thule box on top with Vermont plates and a metallic silver/goldish SUV with Florida plates...but no MT :(
Great to see the return of @thekirbyfamily!

Please be safe on your travels in the region as many here worry about you and purse wielding Mamma A. didn't look like someone I would want to run into even in the light of day as she looks to be a fearsome character, MT too!

I got a kick out of reviewing the first time Norm appeared with FD. He made a huge deal out of the fact that LE hadn't included the morning timeline of the 24th.
Taunting and almost saying bring it on. (my words).
Well he got his answer didn't he?
Busted by the little old school buses!
MOO.

Guess this relates to the very unreal tales NP has told during the last almost 4 months.

Realize the following would differ by the personalities involved, but as a defense attorney, what does one do when you discover your client has been lying to you? And, it appears another member of the bar may have lied to your investigators, too.

During the first hearing in which NP represented FD he stated:
"We've been able to account for Mr. Dulos' whereabouts with independent evidence for almost all of that time, including an early morning meeting at a his home with an attorney," Pattis said.

He also told the judge his client received a call from Greece, and that Troconis was with him in and out of the Farmington home.
Fotis Dulos, estranged husband of missing mom, released on bond

In the interview, NP comments that his team is relying on some information provided by the former attorneys (Eugene Riccio. The earliest "alibi" for FD may have been investigated Attorney Riccio's investigators. (This sentence is MOO)
Interview: Attorney Norm Pattis answers questions about Dulos case

The alibis and theories noted by NP keep changing. I think @afitzy mentioned there is a pattern to these chaanges.

Which brings me back to the dilemma of being a defense attorney. I guess one doesn't expect 100% honesty from one's clients as trust is being built. (See above wfsb interview). However, NP has been very vocal with the alibi script stories. Does the revelation that one's client has told bold-faced lies influence the way you handle the rest of the case?

Hopefully there were just enough blood spots that were not cleaned up that they could establish a specific pattern.
I'm not sure how much they can tell if most of it was cleaned up pretty well, or if they can still determine the blood splatter pattern .
Maybe that's why they believe the murder weapon was a knife, although
I think there may have also been cuts or tears in the shirt she was wearing which would indicate a knife attack.
Imo
I am not an expert in blood spatter (or anything for that matter....) but from the description in the AW1 of what the NCPD officer that first went to Welles found in the garage I have to say I am very encouraged that sufficient evidence will eventually be developed by the experts to figure out the extent of blood loss and the specifics of the attack and murder of JD.

The reason I believe this is the the first person on the scene was an officer from NCPD. The NC Officers are IMO well trained, well paid and educated but IMO this person is not FBI level trained or an experienced crime scene analyst that you might find in a large city department. Nope. This is a small town police department filled I believe with generalists of varying levels of training. I am NOT saying this to disparage NCPD AT ALL. Nope. IMO the officers that went to Welles and took a look at the scene and immediately called in CT State Police Crime Squad are HEROS here! And IMO it speaks to the quality of the NCPD training that CT State Police were brought in so quickly and the Welles scene processed so the investigation could have a path forward and FD/MT could be kept on their back feet and off balance. IMO some really good work by NCPD and CT State Police in working together too as in other cases we don't see productive collaboration and this hurts cases in a big way sometimes.

But, back to my original point. The idea that a small town police officer could look a scene and within minutes know that something is profoundly wrong, IMO speaks to the overall situation at Welles and the extent of the clean up. Most garages in CT have concrete/cement floors and my guess is that this made Welles garage virtually impossible to clean up. But, it took an officer with good instincts and training to do the prelim work and realise that something horrible had happened and bring in the teams with the technical expertise to analyse the situation.

I look forward to someday seeing the pictures of the Welles garage as developed by the experts in crime scene analysis and all the high tech means available to understand precisely how JD was attacked and murdered. I have faith that LE will deliver this image and these images will be so crystal clear that there will be zero doubt in the minds of the jury as to what happened in the Welles garage.

I don’t think anything will nor ever has “been rammed “ home in regards to MT
Listening to anyone ..much less her parents .
Look at her past and present behavior . She’s defiant .
In one of her court appearance’s wherein she is wearing a white outfit , she is leaning against a table with both hands balancing on two fingers . No-one does that .
Try it . It’s not comfortable. It’s a sign .
MT holding a tissue in her pinky finger and ring finger doesn’t explain away her multiple 2 fingered signals to FD either .
Try it .
Your pointer finger and middle finger become relaxed if your other 2 fingers are clutching something . MT’s Aren’t , they are rigid and straight .
She’s Defiant in Court with the camera’s
rolling trying to pull a fast one .
We see you ... MOO

I read the manual on the bracelet and if the bracelet is properly installed it should fit into the contour of the ankle area and not result in any discomfort IMO. Someone else here brought up whether the FD bracelet is properly installed and I am with that person in thinking the install wasn't correctly done. The other issue is that the bracelet is very light and hypoallergenic too. Its a bit awkward perhaps due to the size and doesn't allow for the perp to wear fashionable skinny designer jeans, but all in all its not a burdensome device in any meaningful way IMO.

But, if anyone can make a constitutional argument for the bracelet being a burden to the accused then IMO that would be Mr. Constitution himself aka No Case Norm! But, we haven't seen No Case Norm take on the cause of the bracelet because even he knows that the only alternative to the bracelet is BPT jail. The impassioned speech we witnessed from No Case Norm at the first bail hearing about getting FD out of BPT was not because Pattis cared about FD being there, nope, my guess is that he just didn't want to spend hours and hours there as its not a nice place at all!

We have nothing to fear that FD isn't getting his exercise and a full cardio workout. Nope. FD has a full state of art gym at 4Jx that can be used if there are 'issues' with the bracelet.

My recollection from the picture of the beautiful gym picture posted on an earlier thread was that if jogging isn't a 'comfortable' option that there was a newish model of a Peloton available to FD to work on his cardio and endurance for hours at a time.

What makes you think that about MT?
Very curious.

Grab a cup of coffee, citygirl! This is my story and I'm sticking to it (for now)!

I believe that past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior.

FD quickly moved on from Wife #1 to #2 Jennifer, a woman of wealth with access to huge trust funds which would only grow with each child, not to mention a father who would invest heavily in his dreams.

When the f-i-l died and the gravy train seemed to be ending, I believe FD behaved according to form and sought out a fellow grifter in #3 MT, someone who would help him drive Jennifer over the edge, getting him access to the trusts. Of course, the children were just necessary leverage to get those funds. (A guy's gotta' do what a guy's gotta' do.)

Because Jennifer had a support system (God bless GF!), she was finally able to surreptitiously get herself out from under FD's thumb, so he and his partner in crime (#3) had to maneuver doing away with her permanently.

For months they pondered the best way to do that without their involvement being obvious, a staged suicide being the perfect choice (thus eliminating the barrier between FD and the trust funds).

So the perfect plan was for FD to lie in wait at the house that morning.

Whoops! Jennifer fought back when FD tried to cut off her air supply in some way. I think she ran back toward her car and that he hit her with a blunt object. If we learn that the knife seen in Hartford was from her kitchen, he must have gone inside to get it to finish her off (leaving his DNA on the faucet with her blood).

Then things got hairy (pardon my pun since we know he had shaved himself). The suicide idea bit the dust with blood everywhere. Clean up had to happen and bloody stuff had to disappear, never mind what to do with Jennifer's obviously not-suicided body!

More detail-oriented and wiser WS posters have explained the details after this so I'll defer to them and
get back to your question.

Why do I think MT would have been in FD's rearview mirror? Why would he have planned to dump her?

Simply because her purpose had been served and she now brought little to the table. (Having knowledge of Jennifer's murder might put a kink in her longevity though, right?)

If FD gets off, he may gain access to the trust funds through the children, depending on how they're set up.
If he doesn't gain access, he'll move on and troll for #4. Watch your daughters!

If he's in jail, #4 will be drawn from a group of pathetic women, hybristophiliacs, who seek out prisoners online. She will send money to his commissary account, ensuring his access to Beanie Weenies and good soap.

ETA for your amusement:
“Hybristophilia” is a recognized psychiatric condition in which a person—usually a woman—experiences strong sexual desire for a man known for crimes that society considers repulsive. The “-philia” comes from a Greek word meaning “love for,” while “hybristo-“ is derived from Greek verb meaning “to commit an outrage against someone.”

Good assessment.
Who supplied the independent evidence?
Was it his attorney friend?
Was it a relative from Greece?
Did Mr. Riccio just echo what his client had told him?
Defense attorneys may not expect 100% truth from their clients may be true.
But the public expects 100% truth from their lawyers who represent their clients.

I will go a little farther (cover your eyes, any sensitive people)-and say he put her in a headlock, and slit her throat. We will never know for sure, but that is my visual. He’s strong, and he was mad. I just don’t think he is smart enough to realize how much blood there would be. I think he tried to clean it up, and eventually had to leave the house. At first it seemed to me that he beat her to death. But I believe that there was a guy who found the knife and a bloody pillow. It hurts to think about what likely happened to her.

BBM. Totally agree except one small point: the homeless man (future witness) who said he found the knife and traded it for crack said (according to media, see below) it appeared to be a hunting knife/switchblade, which would be worth considerably more than a kitchen knife.

Most importantly, it clearly would be something FD would have brought with him only as part of a premeditated murder.

Hunting switchblade eyed as possible murder weapon in case of missing Conn. mom: report

Well, you may be exactly right on the ramming.
And you sure are on the public acts of defiance.

But I do wonder if taking care of that bond which is keeping MT out of jail might give her parents a teeny bit of growing power. Let us hope!

Agreed.
Speaks to the QUALITY of these local cops.
Speaks more so to the QUANTITY of blood evidence found.
