Kent Mawhinney's law license is going to be suspended.
The state office that disciplines attorneys has filed a petition to suspend the law license of Kent D. Mawhinney, who is facing conspiracy to commit murder charges for his alleged role in the disappearance of Jennifer Farber Dulos.
In a two-page motion, Brian B. Staines from the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel, is seeking to have Mawhinney’s law license suspended and a trustee appointed to secure any of his clients’ funds
Staines said that “due to Mawhinney’s incarceration and any conditions that may be imposed upon his release from custody, he cannot attend to the legal needs of his clients and there exists a substantial threat of irreparable harm to his clients or to prospective clients.”
Mawhinney has a law office in Bloomfield and is a solo practitioner, Staines said. He doesn’t maintain an Interest On Lawyers’ Trust Accounts program in a financial institution in Connecticut with his clients funds as many attorneys do. The trustee is needed to keep his clients’ funds safe...
Dulos and Mawhinney began their close relationship through business dealings when Mawhinney would handle real estate closings for Dulos’ luxury home building company, Fore Group Inc. They grew closer through the years as both struggled through highly contentious divorces, with Dulos — just days before his own wife disappeared — playing what authorities describe as an active role as a liaison between the Mawhinneys.

While the contentious divorce between Dulos and Farber Dulos has sparked national attention since her disappearance in late May, Mawhinney also has been going through a bitter divorce that includes allegations that he violated a protective order prohibiting communication between the couple. Judge John Blawie referred to that violation as a main reason that he didn’t want to lower Mawhinney’s $2 million bond
The trustee also would review all of the office mail, protect the interests of his clients and make sure their funds are accounted for...
Mawhinney initially told state police there wasn’t a pre-arranged meeting for that day and that he didn’t remember talking to Dulos at all that day. He did admit that Dulos wasn’t at Jefferson Crossing when he was there. In his second interview, he acknowledged Dulos had set up the meeting for that morning and also told detectives that “if there’s a phone call, I guess I did (talk to Dulos),” court records said.
The meeting that morning — and changing stories about it from Dulos’ girlfriend at the time, Michelle Troconis — are featured prominently in the arrest warrant affidavits linked to the murder charge. While Troconis initially told authorities she saw both Dulos and Mawhinney at Jefferson Crossing that morning, she would later say she never saw Dulos, court records said.
Phone records show that Dulos called Mawhinney at 7:47 p.m. on May 24 while police say Dulos was on Albany Avenue in Hartford dropping garbage bags coated with the blood of Farber Dulos into trash cans. The timing of that call corresponds with when state police say they believe Dulos placed a FedEx package into a storm drain in front of Scott’s Jamaican Bakery. Police recovered the package that contained an old license plate that had been altered belonging to Dulos, court records said.
“Mawhinney was asked if he would know why Dulos would have contacted him while dumping evidence into trash receptacles in Hartford. Mawhinney reiterated that he didn’t remember any kind of contact with Dulos and did not know why Fotis would have called him while disposing of evidence,” the arrest warrant affidavit said...

It was not until August that one of the friends realized that Mawhinney — by then publicly tied to the Dulos investigation — was a former member of the club and had inquired about accessing the property back in March or April, the arrest warrant affidavit said. Police brought in cadaver dogs and dug all the way to the bottom but found no signs of human remains in the hole.

The arrest warrant affidavit said Mawhinney’s cellphone indicated that he was in the area of the gun club at 11:04 p.m. on May 31.

Kent Mawhinney, Fotis Dulos co-conspirator, faces law license suspension
Good. I hope all those walls are closing in as he sits in jail and decides to talk.

NP is waving around that psych eval in a lame attempt to garner favor for FD, as if somehow JF was so emotionally distraught she killed herself in her garage. Then cleaned up after herself.

He's promising a document he'll never deliver.

If JF had any mental health issues, one, there's no shame in that, and two, NP's client caused them.

When you live with crazy, sometimes you look crazy.

10 to 1, FD was a MAGICAL boyfriend. The look, the accent, the attention. Because it was a game. A game he was winning. Two seconds in (to marriage), bet he flipped his switch. He's the one who was cold, who retreated (to his other passions), deliberately letting her think it was she who was letting him down. Not shimmery enough. She was trying to make it work. She had no idea he was playing an entirely different game.

As for her journal, IMO he is utterly unbothered by what she or anyone else thought of/ thinks of him. What he probably hated more than anything is that her writing gave HER purpose and pleasure and therapy and peace. He would HATE that. He could have mistresses (he's just that great), but no way no how would he want HER to have an outlet, an interest outside of him. Pattern of DV. Argue that you don't get enough attention (DF arguing he's not), then when she makes extra effort, push her away. Head games.

I haven't read all of her blogging but I've read enough to notice that it was probably her sanity but also, and this is worth highlighting, it wasn't really about FD. It was about JF, about her as a wife, mother, woman and person, trying to make sense of her universe. Only a supreme narcissist (FD) would ASSUME it was all about him. In truth, she was actually generous and gracious in how she penned him, with far kinder words than we'd all like to use. If he found her journal, you can be sure he DESTROYED it.

It's so sad that JF was grappling, trying to keep the pieces of her life together. Effectively a single mom in an exhausting marriage, then a contentious divorce. A brazen mistress. All so horrible. All she wanted was to be able to raise her children and have a piece of peace. Her own bathroom. Time to write. Which is exactly why he wouldn't give her those things. He had to win. A sick contest where no knows the rules, the goal. Whatever she voiced, that's the thing he would not give. MOO

When FD said he couldn't believe JF would do this him, what he meant of course was STAND UP TO HIM. She stood up to the alpha dog. Alpha dogs don't lose, they up their games.

JF wanted to be whole. He wanted her in pieces.

I'm afraid just how far he may have taken that.

Jennifer, we're sorry you suffered at the hands of this man. We're sorry that the courts didn't take action, to protect you.

He's not going to win this time.

I couldn’t even finish reading this, it is so sad!!! I agree with everything you wrote.
Her life was a living Hell, except for the joy her children brought her. Do we know where the journal is?

So now GAL Michael (Maserati) Meehan is now a detective telling the State how to investigate a brutal murder?

Is the suggestion by Atty. P. and GAL Meehan that the JFd 'mental state' is somehow responsible for her murder?

Is the suggestion by Atty P. and GAL Meehan that JFd somehow deserved what Fd and MT and KM did to her?

Atty. P. is and has been fixated on the absolutely discredited psych report of Dr. Herman as he and his entire team are nowhere in their case IMO.

Someone above said that Pattisville is at the bottom of the their tank.

Yep, bottom of the tank with zero gas and running on fumes!

The State releases the beginning of the search warrants used in this case and the first real glimpses of the horrific, violent and very bloody death endured by JFd emerges as what is Atty. P. searching for?

Atty. P. is searching for a psych report that wasn't allowed into evidence by Judge Heller.

Every time substantive evidence is released by the State there is always some other piece of evidence that is needed to 'save his client'.

When the Albany photos and findings were first released Atty. P. said that "MT can save his client".

When AW2 came and the photos of Red Tacoma were shown alleging Fd in NC on the murder date then Atty. P. said "KM can save my client and provide proof that Fd was not in NC".

IMO when you have no defense strategy for your client there will always be one other piece of evidence that will be needed to 'save your client'.

One by one, the State has meticulously removed each of the possible alibi claims that Atty. P. has made to the point now that the situation is frankly ridiculous and so another piece of ridiculous information in the form of a psych report is needed by Atty. P. to not deal with credible evidence such as blood in the Welles Garage and in JFd MBR or on Albany Avenue in trash cans.

Atty. P. is no longer making alibi claims and is now instead focused on possible motive claims by the State.

JFd by all accounts was a long-standing victim of domestic violence at the hands of her husband and now possibly based on the comments of the 'Greek Family' yesterday this behaviour was supported wholeheartedly by them. Sounds like JFd lived in a hostile environment with very difficult living conditions and she was charged with raising 5 small children effectively by herself.

Sounds stressful to me. DV has not just emotional and mental components but potentially physical components as well. PTSD and anxiety disorders are not at all uncommon in DV survivors and some never get over their experiences, even with treatment. IMO it wasn't just that JFd endured the marriage, it was the 2 years in family court and then the 'master stroke' by Fd where he walked away from his children for 10 months and left JFd holding the psychological bag so to speak on children (oldest in particular) that were emotionally falling apart. For a mother to see a child or children endure emotional distress and not be able to do much other than seek treatment IMO could very well have pushed JFd to a point of unimaginable psychological distress and absolute despair. Fd IMO weaponised his children against JFd in order to accomplish his goals and then stepped back to leave JFd to deal with the mess he had created.

Make no mistake here as IMO Fd inflicted this pain on his children and JFd deliberately and then simply stayed at 4Jx with MT and her daughter and waited for the entire emotional drama to play out and for JFd to simply emotionally disintegrate. IMO it was torture from a distance and it was sick and it was absolutely diabolical and IMO it was planned with precision no differently than the murder that happened in the garage at Welles.

In keeping with the vexatious litigant...In the Greenwich Time yesterday, NP says:

"Norm Pattis said Thursday he intends to request a probable cause hearing on behalf of his client Fotis Dulos in terms of the charges brought against him in relation to the homicide and disappearance of his estranged wife Jennifer Dulos.

“There is a low probability of success given the fact a judge has already signed the warrant, but it is a chance to hold Mr. Dulos’ accusers accountable,” Pattis said Thursday."

In other words, this is just another expensive, time waster in which NP gets to talk to the press and show off for his client....and drag out the court proceedings.

But, but, but...Normie really wants to go to trial as soon as he can. And, pigs fly...

HIRED Defense Attorney 101 - When the State comes out with damaging evidence, create a news cycle on your comment to distract from it and get the news cycle drowned with your comment. MOO

When you really get back to the basics....how is FD going to explain getting rid of all of the evidence? I mean seriously? The blood, the DNA, the video surveillance, the bike, the car seats, the clothing, the zip ties, the cleaning products.

He would have us believe that she may still be alive even though LE has said she suffered a traumatic event.

He would also have us believe that he was getting rid of evidence because he wanted to clean up the crime scene for the unknown person who killed his wife?

I don't know how you can get past just this information. There is NO explanation for it.

The only thing NP can do is create a distraction and try to get him off on a technicality.

Otherwise he is guilty as sin and no jury will ignore that evidence

yes and on ONLY 27 acres of land??
Serious pheasant hunters would scoff at this.
Unless hunters also mosey over the adjacent
land, this would be consider a tiny parcel for hunting.
That piece of land also sits next to a large large pond. Not sure how deep it is though . They probably checked it out but who knows since they only dug 1.5 feet due to the "hot weather'

Looks like this action is sadly a day late and many dollars short! Why aren't we seeing a simultaneous Motion from Danbury Savings Bank for Bank Fraud in the event that the financial statements of Fd/FORE weren't properly submitted? How was Danbury Saving Bank able to undertake a loan of this size (large for this particular institution IMO) if the Borrower hadn't prepared 1040s for 2 years and didn't have reviewed or audited financial statements? Is this loan to FD/FORE in compliance with the lending practices of The Danbury Savings Bank?

I'm really curious what the Board of Directors of The Danbury Savings Bank thinks of how their lending guidelines were implemented by its staff officers in making this loan to FORE/FD? Are the involved officers still with Danbury Savings Bank? I'd frankly be quite concerned if this loan file looks anywhere close to what I imagine it to be! YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fd had 'no equity' in the property in New Canaan (is this in compliance with bank lending practices?). Fd also refused to allow the Bank to have a key to the property to check on the status of the project and refused to allow a security camera to be installed so that they could monitor the property as well (wouldn't this generate a default in the underlying lending documents as well given that this appeared to be within the ability of the Bank to do?).

Wonder who from Danbury Savings Bank, Danbury, CT was charged with supervising this loan? Oops!

Another FORE/FD financial mess and I do wonder how much $$$ Fd sucked out of this property and how much of it ended up in the pockets of various Pattisville atty's?

Are we seeing possible bank fraud both with Danbury Savings Bank and Peoples Bank of Bridgeport from FORE/Fd undertaken to pay attys?

Is the States Atty. also looking into this issue regarding potential bank fraud to pay attorneys and other creditors?

Relevant sections from the above posted Motion for Appointment of a Permanent Receiver.

FDIC insured deposit taking institution subject to FDIC audit (federal banking license, state banking license, due diligence in underwriting to safeguard the folks holding the bag, that means taxpayers when banks go insolvent, not the private board members who only lose their share value...we the taxpayers make good on FDIC insured deposits). Who owns Danbury Savings Bank? Sorry, private info not listed on the CT equivalent of the Dept of Financial Services for New York...

Don't know if this has been posted...It's from the New Canaanite discussing the role of PG in the arrest warrants. Fd's treatment of and attitude toward PG is certainly part of the "I'm better than you and smarter than you, smugness that emanates from Fd. And, he issues a threat of sorts during their conversations. Maybe this can help those newer to the forum understand Fd....He's a consummate liar and bully.

"After pedaling his bicycle from Waveny Park to Welles Lane to kill his estranged wife, and then steering an employee’s pickup truck back upstate with her corpse, Fotis Dulos failed to remove from the vehicle the dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt he’d been wearing while cycling, according to interviews and evidence cited in a state police detective’s sworn affidavit made public last week.

The Toyota Tacoma’s owner would discover a blue hoodie in a red pail inside the truck on May 28, four days after the murder, according to Detective John Kimball of the state police Western District Major Crime Squad....

...The arrest warrant applications made public last week shed more light on Gumienny’s role. They show that Gumienny not only volunteered to help investigators in their work—though Fotis Dulos tried to intimidate him—but also that much of what he saw and heard in the hours and days that followed the murder came to take on important new meaning as he realized what had happened.

For example, Gumienny told investigators that Fotis Dulos had asked him months before the murder—in the fall of 2018 or early 2019—to repair the vintage 10-speed bicycle that a hooded Fotis Dulos could be seen cycling along Weed Street on the morning of May 24, according to Kimball’s arrest warrant application.

“Video from a residential surveillance system showed a person riding a bicycle in a northwest direction along Weed Street,” Kimball said. “The cyclist appears to be dressed in all dark clothing with a hood pulled down low to hide their face.”

And Gumienny himself didn’t recognize the blue hoodie and red pail that Fotis Dulos had left behind when he found them in the Tacoma as it was parked in the driveway of a Farmington mansion built by the Fore Group, Kimball said in the affidavit.

“Assuming the items belonged to [Fotis] Dulos, Gumienny brought the items into the house and left them in the laundry room,” Kimball said in the affidavit. (It isn’t clear whether investigators recovered those items.)

Hours after the murder, Gumienny appears to have come upon Fotis Dulos and Troconis as they started or tried to have sex while leaned up against his pickup truck—the very vehicle used to ferry her dead body up from New Canaan.

Investigators learned of the incident from Troconis herself, during one of three interviews conducted last summer....

...Though Gumienny said he had considered Fotis Dulos a friend, he also said that his boss issued him a warning about talking to authorities.

Gumienny explained Dulos told him he would get in trouble if he talked to police because Gumienny only had a ‘Green Card’—a Permanent Resident Card,” Kimball said in the arrest warrant application. `

Fotis Dulos Employee Emerges as Key Figure in Murder Case

I think the DA will easily dispense with Pattis hanging on to the Gone Girl defense. It is like Pattis isn't keeping up with the times.

Sounds like Pattis trying to create a 'duel' between their psych evals, which sounds like a divorce strategy, but in this murder case MOO it is one honest person victim vs. one killer: the honest person has a lot of problems, killers seems to have none.
Does anyone know who the psychologist for JD eval was?

Who is paying for water, electricity, gas etc on the house until he forced to leave? I hope GF is not, but I could see why she would....cold weather brings broken pipes etc. who buys his food? Where oh where is that money coming from?
IMO
Greece. He embezzeled millions from the spec houses he was building with JD family money. He didn't pay the contractors. He siphoned off the money and sent it to Greece to his lovely rat of a sister with the help of KM. That money coming back from Greece is Farber family money. IRS should do a forensic accounting of his company, they broke tons of laws and sent money out of the country. KM was involved with real estate deals with FD and he illegally either did it himself or allowed it to happen. This is not rocket science. The state of CT look like bumbling idiots to not follow up on all these leads. If they can't get him on murder get him on the other illegal acts, or get him on both including the interference of a court order with KM's STBX contact trying to lure her to his house on false pretenses to murder her too.
Just a bad seed, that got JD to play along for awhile with his diabolical plans.
IMO

I would think that means the grave was visible from one of the paths. The grave digger must have completely assumed the path was abandoned, to locate it on a compressed land situation like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but there are few legal hunting seasons between May and September in most states. Whoever dug the hole probably didn't expect the grounds would be used.

From the SW:
Resolution and obstruction factors involved in the footage prevented investigators from determining whether the vehicle shown on the Thurton Drive footage was outfitted with a removable Thule cargo carrier affixed to the roof rack of the Chevrolet.

I don't believe the Thule carrier is mentioned again or listed as a seized item. Could it have been used to move/hide Jennifer?

No doubt Pattis and his Ponytail will motion to exclude everything discovered through the search of FD's phone. The Albany run, the Tacoma, the trash bags, the blood evidence. He'll argue further that, without the phone, without the Tacoma, there are no bus cameras.

The Prosecution wil happily remind the court that FD willingly turned over his phone AND gave the password to unlock it.

Guess you should've left it at home, Alibi boy.

Oh, but I guess he only leaves it at home when he's murdering his wife.

My husband used to work in Banking, and he would tell you that very often banks would decline to prosecute in such cases, because they don’t want customers or their board of directors to know that they’ve approved large loans without fully vetting the applications, and the prosecution of such would get some attention. Now that the cat is out of the proverbial bag, they may do so, I would think.
