I just watched the 48 Hours piece and noted a few things I believe haven't been divulged before (please correct me if I'm wrong).
- CuCu says MT met FD in Miami while he was there waterskiing with the kids.* Besides speaking to the absolute gall of this man, I think it could potentially give us a firm start-date for their relationship. The
NY Post reports FD was buying plane tickets for MT as early as 12/2015, so we can assume they met sometime prior to that. I've only found one record of FD and the kids competing in FL during 2015 and that happened on 6/27/15.
*During Erin Moriarty's appearance on The Murder Squad, she casually mentions that MT met FD in an airport. This didn't come up during 48 Hours, but I don't know why she'd say it on the podcast if it wasn't true. Anyone remember where FD "spontaneously reunited" with JF before beginning their affair? That's right, an airport...
- When the detective (I can't keep all their names straight, forgive me) revisits Welles Lane he says FD accessed the house from the road around the back. This seems to confirm FD used Indian Waters Drive to access the property. I recently took a little road trip to New Canaan to check out both Thurton Drive and Indian Waters, and at the end of the Thurton Drive cul-du-sac there's a driveway that connects to two more houses and it has a prime view of the 69 Welles backyard. However, it would have been difficult to bike through – very obvious and sketchy. Indian Waters Drive is private so I couldn't drive down it, but from Google Maps it looks like there's an unmarked road that goes right through the woods behind 69 Welles. IMO, this is the one FD used the morning of 5/24/19, and the Thurton Drive cul-du-sac was the look-out spot (either to scout the property in preparation, or during the crime itself).
- One of the detectives mentions finding "copious" blood on the two ponchos recovered from AA. We suspected as much, but that's the first time it's been confirmed, yes?
- Detective also explicitly states he believes JF's body was transported to 80 MS in the Tacoma. No mention of KM until the final minutes. I am very worried that since KM has turned State's witness they've stopped considering him as an active participant in this crime – which, IMO, he very much was!
