I dont know that the letters swayed me, but I am not the target audience.

I really do believe JK is proud of what he has done. I am certain he is sorry it is over, and he will be even sorrier when he starts to fade into the woodwork.

I admire the continued strength of Dr Petit and his extended family. What a horror show. And even when it is over, I dont know that it will ever be over.

That my friends is why JK's lawyer thought it absolutely necessary but risky to violate a gag order on the front steps of Court to refute the idea that JK violated Michaela via sodomy. Even though the medical evidence in this case proves beyond a doubt that JK did indeed sodomize Michaela. JK's attorney knew that if he didn't refute it and in a really big way JK's parents (particularly his mother) might not testify for him in the penalty phase.

Well that solves that for me ....

Semen was found INSIDE Michaela's anal area. Michaela was sodomized.

And here's the KICKER ... this was from the Hayes trial ..... Donovan is a real gem. Donovan sat through all of Hayes trial. And during Michaela's autopsy testimony his cell phone went off singing ... JOY TO THE WORLD. Classy. And of course very respectful to not turn off your phone during a MURDER trial. "It was not the first time Donovan was the cause of anguish and anger Friday. Donovan is one of the attorneys representing Hayes' co-defendant, Joshua Komisarjevsky, who also faces the death penalty in the killings of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters, Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11.

In defiance of a court-imposed gag order banning court officials and police in the case from making "extrajudicial statements," Donovan held a brief courthouse press conference during a break in testimony to insist that Komisarjevsky did not anally rape Michaela.

"We are deeply sympathetic to the sadness of the Petit family, and I realize this is a very small solace," said Donovan. But he said it would be a long time before his client's trial – jury selection in Komisarjevsky's case is not supposed to start until next year – and he did not want to let any misunderstanding from testimony Thursday linger.

Under cross-examination Thursday, a medical examiner said swabs taken from the girl's anal area turned up enzymes for semen and sperm cells. Donovan said he wanted to make clear that Komisarjevsky has already admitted to ejaculating over the girl but did not anally rape her."

When a DNA test was conducted the sperm was matched to JK. Donovan claims as well as JK that JK ejaculated on Michaela's STOMACH. So how then did the semen get INSIDE her anal cavity?????

The answer is simple, JK sodomized the little girl.

Here's what I think is important. It was JK that spotted Michaela with her mother in the grocery store on the 23rd. It was JK who followed them home.

JK had already been paid that day, so $$$ was not on his mind. JK knew when he spotted Michaela in the store he wanted to sexually assault her. Hayes was the one in need of $$$ so it was convenient for him to use Hayes as an excuse to break into the home so he could fulfill his desire to sexually assault the little girl.

And it's also important to note that while Hayes and the mother were at the bank that's when the sexual assault of Michaela took place. Up to that point the only violence was committed by JK.

The violence was escalated by JK when he picked up a bat and beat Dr. Petit around the head, of course to subdue the father so he couldn't protect Michaela.

Hayes claims that when he came back from the bank JK said he had to "square things up" and rape the mother because he had already raped Michaela.

Once JK raped Michaela this familys fate was sealed. JK was never going to let them live. And he needed Hayes to be equally culpable so he encouraged him to rape the mother. Once done it wouldn't be difficult to push Hayes further in helping him cover up his own rape. But let's face it I'm sure Hayes arm didn't need to be twisted that much.

I think it's an important aspect to the case since IMO it was the motive for the murders.

The real brains of this operation was JK. I'm certain had it not been for JK the Petit family would still be alive.
 
Wow pulling out all the stops. It's been reported via twitter that JK's daughter will testify. How a father can allow that to happen. Especially one so young. His poor daughter is going to be damaged for life. Just like Dr. Petit.

Clearly this man must have no soul.

Yeah it's kind of disgusting that the defense would stoop so low to destroy yet another young innocent life all for a man who has raped, tortured, and murdered two young children.

If they put on JK's poor young daughter on the stand I hope it backfires on them. I hope it's not lost on the jury that JK will stop at nothing to save his own life even at the sake of the sanity and well being of his only daughter.
 
What could his daughter, who hasn't seen him in 4 years, and is only now 8 yrs old, possibly say? That he's a good dad? This is just terrible for anyone to consider bringing in a child to testify on behalf of a convicted family member.

Thats sort of the question I have. How would her testimony be relevant to proving any mitigating factor? I assume she is being put ont he stand to beg for her father's life and just be a sympathetic figure. I guess she could say that she receives letters from him et. ect. But that could back-fire considering JK's assaults against his sister and his crimes here. The jury may see such contact as harmful.

I believe 9. I mean how terrible to put a child of tender years through that. Really what type of father or what type of defense attorney thinks this is a good idea???? She's just a few years shy of Michaela's age. What she must think knowing her father raped and killed a girl that is very close to the age she is now.

I agree. I think it's sickening to parade a young little girl into Court and deal with a traumatic event in front of the public all purely to tug at the heartstrings of the jury hoping this little girl will be enough to spare the monster that is her biological father. Who could very well have molested her as well.
 
I hope his daughters attorney can persuade the Judge to squash the subpoena issued by the defence for her,

she really does not need to be a part of this, to ask her to come to speak on behalf of her father to save his life is too much pressure for a 9 year old, she was 5 when this happened and has had no visits with her father for the 4 years post these crimes, I don't know if she keeps in contact via phone calls or letters but I hope she is allowed contact with her father if she chooses to

what could she say except please don't kill my daddy, I really hope she does not get called,
