Yeah I tend to agree with you there. IMO it seems that the childhood abuse he suffered went untreated, growing up in a strict environment, abusing his own sister, getting multiple head injuries (some people say head trauma can play a significant role in the development of criminals - though i am no expert) all together I wouldn't be surprised if he had more than one characteristic of the Macdonald triad. I just think he didn't get the help he should have gotten as a child. But lots of people who suffer abuse do not go forward to become abusers or criminals themselves - I think it was a mixture of things. The "perfect storm" as i think the defense put it

His sister was also abused allegedly by the same teen JK was as well as JK himself. Did she rape, torture and kill a family, no she didn't.

It makes me mad as hell that the defense and JK himself is attempting to throw blame at everyone. Including Dr. Petit, LE, Hayes, his parents, this kid who abused him (who was also abused and who was also mentally retarded). Everyone was at fault. Except the one man who was capable of free will and making his own choices. JK made a decision to kill this family. And much like most career criminals doesn't want to take an ounce of responsibility for their own actions. Casey Anthony ring a bell????

IMVHO, the defense is implying that these were the reasons Josh became a first degree murderer...that if his father or family had actively intervened early on, we would not be sitting here today. So cut the guy a break and give him LWOP.

The prosecution is showing that family made an informed decision not to have their son treated, and they are showing that all of the children in that very same household did not have this same outcome.

Understood. I'm just frustrated with this testimony.

Although it's a shame JK was abused. I think it's clear JK was loved by his parents.

I think it's a shame JK may not receive the same punishment as Hayes when I think it's JK who is the sadistic one. And it's clear this crime never would have happened had it not been for JK. This entire crime was committed because JK wanted to rape Michaela.
