I also appreciate and admire this stance but I am not so advanced myself. I very rarely support the death penalty but in this case I absolutely do, I cant even bring myself to be ashamed of it.

I completely understand. That's why I wanted to commend joe jones because I find it near impossible to muster compassion for these two depraved killers. I'm grateful joe is continuing to be an anti-DP voice.

so were so many of us abused and would never EVER dream of doing what these men did, I DETEST when they use it as an excuse, it debases abuse survivors.

There was a 15 year old foster boy named Scott who sexually and physically abused me. My earliest memories were of anal sex, oral sex, cigarette burns etc." At the time the abuse ended , he was 6..."

Thanks for the info. Was there any independant verification of this? I assume this will play a central role in the penalty phase, so I guess we will see.

I get really pissed off that people continually act like sexual abuse creates monsters that will be predators in the world.

This case is beyond anything I have ever heard in my life. I can't even imagine how someone could do all of the things these men did.

I am totally against the DP but these men need to be put out of their misery.

I have at times struggled with the fact that although I am anti DP I sometimes find myself thinking "maybe in this case it warranted" but I always come back to my original belief that it does not deter people and it, IMO, is revenge rather than justice. I feel that way in this case also - I would prefer life without parole.

in my opinion another excellent piece, I too doubt the defence will save JK from the DP, I think the jury signalled its intent by finding him G on all the charges, but I will be thinking of his defence team as they are fighting for his life,

....State officials have said that Komisarjevsky, 31, started burglarizing homes when he was 14 but that most of the crimes occurred during an eight-month spree between July 2001 and February 2002 after he bought night-vision goggles. Prosecutors said he stole more than $20,000 worth of property from his victims.

Prosecutors plan to present evidence of those crimes — a series of burglaries in the Cheshire and Burlington areas — during the penalty phase of the convicted triple killer's case, now scheduled to begin Tuesday. The New Haven Register reported Sunday that it had acquired a letter that Steven Hayes allegedly wrote from prison, where he has been sentenced to death for the 2007 Cheshire home invasion that killed a mother and her two daughters.
