That's not too early in my mind. Our 3-year-old is in bed just before 8 each night, since we all have to be up before 6:30 during the week.

And if the baby was sick with a cold she might have been sleepy and ready to go to bed by 7:30.

Having your underage brother drive you to the store to purchase a box of wine for the first night your husband will be working overnight shows, imo, a huge preoccupation with alcohol.

It appears that Deb may have been gearing up to let 'r rip that night.

I still do not believe that an intruder is responsible for the disappearance of Lisa.

I think that some kind of accident or overdose occurred due to the mother's intoxication.

jmo

I totally agree, but how could she hide the child's body? The only thing I can think would work is if she had someone take her deceased daughter and the cell phones, and dump them in a large river....difficult at this point to search there....more time passes with her bull$#% delay tactics...less evidence if the child's body is finally found. That poor child. So sad.

DB started this line of "defense" last night on JJP I believe. She admitted to drinking wine on the porch with the neighbour.

I think what we're going to hear in the interview is her admitting it again and the interviewer asking her if she might have had enough to have been somewhat drunk when she went to bed, therefore not hearing any of the "intruder" noises. I think she will admit to a couple of glasses and that it was likely she was "drunk" enough to sleep through an abduction.

But of course not drunk enough to remember turning off the lights.

I don't think we're going to hear her say...yes I was very drunk and have no recollection really of the evening.

MOO

I think we'll hear her say this, "I had a few glasses of wine with my neighbor...probably one too many...oh..." (cry cry cry, because we can't have him press about what happened after that!) and on cue the reporter will feel he doesn't dare push. :hand:

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting but I've been following since day one. I live about 5 minutes from Lisa's house, and I work about 5 minutes away on the other side.

I work security for a rather large healthcare tech company in KC. We have several buildings around the city. One of them is an old casino right on the river, also right next to where they had the police post the first few days. On Monday before Lisa was reported missing, we also had a dumpster fire that was found around 8pm at this building. The only one still there was a cleaner. I dispatched my officers down there and the fire department came and put out the fire. We narrowed it down to the cleaner going out for a smoke which she does all the time, and tossing her cigarette into the dumpster. It's been really dry here. And there were cans of sterno fuel in the dumpster from catering. I didn't think much of it until the next day when detectives showed up to talk with my officer that is posted at that building during the day, although he was not there for the fire. The detectives then returned the next day.

I only bring this up because there is direct river access from behind our building. Other spots would make it difficult to reach the river in that area, which again is accessible by both major streets that surround the Irwin house, Brighton and Chouteau (also the same street as Festival Foods where the wine was purchased and where the diapers were found in the abandoned house).

I don't think our fire had anything to do with case, but I just wanted to say that the river is very close and you can drive or walk to the edge.

I honestly think that baby Lisa is one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. When I think of people I know that couldn't have kids, one friend has had 6 miscarriages, and would love a precious child like that.

I could care less about the parents, but by golly that little girl deserved much better then she got.

As for her license. We have no confirmation on anything. We know she doesn't drive and doesn't have a license. Other than that - zero, nada, zippo, zilch. We don't know if she lost it - or if she ever had one.

Great first post. THank you for the info about access to the river. Does the river move swiftly? I am afraid the remains would wash downstream very quickly and be very hard to find.

I am sorry, I could be wrong about "lost her license"- just remember reading she doesn't have one and thought I read that it was suspended but perhaps not. Hard to think a mom with little ones would not have a license at some point though.

LE can't test a witness to a crime w/o permission. They would have to have probable cause to do so. In this litigious society, nothing flies anymore.

What concerns me is that w/o a body, the perp usually walks.

Perps are better at hiding bodies nowadays; attorneys can keep them quiet and the system doesn't usually get to work. I think that is why LE is taking this to the GJ.

I'm totally reaching in my memory here.. but didn't it get talked about in another thread that DB lost her license due to unpaid tickets or some such thing?

I think there was some confusion with another person with the same name on casenet. That person had some insurance issues but I think it was determined that it was not the same DB. With no driving infractions to her name at this point, it's quite possible that DB has never had a license IMO.

Welcome to Websleuths and thanks for sharing!

But wouldn't just handing her over and go out the front door be easier? and a lot less noticeable to any passerby's.

I agree, IDM.

IMO, the window is a red herring. I think the window was tampered with (i.e staged) to make it appear that someone broke into the house, which is why the screen was bent inward (according to JI's statements), rather than outward.

If someone was trying to break in, that person would have most likely pulled the screen out in an effort to remove the screen from the window (thereby bending the screen outward, rather than inward).

Pushing the screen inward serves no purpose whatsoever, except to stage a crime scene, IMO.

That's true. A standard bottle of wine is about 3 1/2 glasses and 10 to 15 dollars a bottle. Don't know about box but it is a lot more wine and costs lots less. jmo

The average box o wine is 5 litres, which equals about 6 bottles of wine (750 ML).

Sure does save on hiding bottles in the bin if you might have a drinking problem.

Just saying --

Yes the river does move pretty fast, we had some flooding issues earlier this year so it's still pretty high. There was a guy a few years back who would murder ladies of the night and toss them and their body parts in the river, most of them were retrieved. There is a pretty strong current that churns everything up and a lot of debris washes up at some of the river parks. But the bodies were found not too far from where he tossed them in so I don't think stuff stays down for long
