I’m pretty sure I can recover deleted photos on my iPhone within 30 days... didn’t they have the phone within 30 days of the murders?

I remember in the Holly Bobo case they seized an iPhone because witnesses said there was a video on it showing Holly being raped and murdered.

The guy who owned the phone refused to give up his passcode. They sent it to the FBI and they asked Apple to help them access the phone. They refused so they weren't able to retrieve anything on his phone including photos and videos.

Maybe in this case it's best for the families involved that none of those photos are ever seen by anyone. I am sure if they could be retrieved they would have done so. The FBI is the best in the world and they are right there in great numbers in WDC.

The smartphone belonging to Daron Wint, the man charged with the 2015 slayings of three members of a Northwest Washington family and their housekeeper, was used to make various Google searches after the killings, including “How to beat a lie detector test” and “10 hideout cities for fugitives,” a government computer expert testified.

Under cross examination by Wint’s attorneys, Marsh acknowledged he had no way of knowing whether Wint conducted the searches or someone else used his phone to make the searches or delete the photos.

Earlier in the day, Wint’s attorneys got a slight break after an evidence specialist with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives testified that although the two hairs recovered at the house had DNA that was like Wint’s, experts could not say whether the hairs came from Wint’s dreadlocks. Defense attorneys have argued the hairs came from Wint’s brother, who often wore a beard.

Prosecutors are expected to rest their case Wednesday. Wint’s attorneys then will have an opportunity to call witnesses in an effort to refute the government’s case. [BBM]

Savvas Savopoulos suffered multiple stab wounds in his back, the medical examiner said. One stab wound in his upper back was so forceful, it went through his neck, the medical examiner said. There was also evidence of blunt force trauma to his head, including multiple skull fractures. Bruising on the side of his face was consistent with a round, large heavy object, Mourtzinos testified. Police found a bloodied baseball near the bodies in one of the home's upstairs bedrooms.

Amy Savopoulos had been stabbed eight times, including three times in the neck, which would have caused significant blood loss, the medical examiner testified. She also suffered skull fractures and blunt force injuries. She appeared to have been struck in the back of the head so severely, parts of her skull were exposed.

Vera Figueroa, who was initially rushed to the hospital and believed to be alive when firefighters arrived at the burning mansion in Woodley Park, was likely already dead by the time emergency responders got there, Mourtzinos testified. She said a stab to the woman's neck fractured her spinal cord, causing heavy bleeding. She also suffered a fractured skull.

I remember that in the days after DW was arrested. How stupid could DW be to be wearing the shoes?

I haven’t read this was brought up during the trial.

I think this was very premeditated all by Wint alone.

He had thought about how he would do all of this for a long time including how he would brutally torture them all. Imo

With Wint we are looking into the face of pure evil. Only those who are bad seeds and evil would be capable of carrying out this sadist terror and torture against his helpless victims.

And then he goes to the gym to workout the very next day because none of what he had done to the 4 victims bothered him in the least.

He is stone cold just like Chase Merritt and others who have brutally murdered multiple victims.

I am glad the DA is pulling the mask off of this hideous human being revealing how demonic and evil he truly is.

As someone else said they should have let the feds try this case so the death penalty could be an option.

I can't even begin to imagine the horror felt by those in the courtroom including family members and the jurors themselves.

I hope the judge offers therapy for all of the jury who are having to witness what all he did to his victims. Their lives will never be the same either.

It does seem like the actions of a sadistic serial killer. I doubt this was the first time he killed someone. I wish they could send him to that prison in Colorado, where prisoners are kept in their cells for 23 hours each day.

It depends on if the gasoline was directly poured on his body which it seems it was and a large amount of it.

Bodies have been burned to ashes in other
fires. It doesn't take nearly as long to destroy a body to ashes as some may think.

He evidently poured the gasoline directly on the lower half of Philip's body and what is so hard to think about is little Philip was alive as he was being subjected to all of this unimaginable inhumane treatment.

This is one of the most horrific and barbaric cases I have ever seen. Overkill doesn't even begin to describe it.
