when tragedies like this occur and yet we still refuse to dig deeper....it doesn't engender much faith on my part that anything will ever change.

My son is LE and he is amed everywhere, sign or not.

He even sits on the front bench behind preacher at church armed.

I totally agree. Last weekend my hubby and my sons went to the movies. He noticed one door did NOT have a sign on it, so he entered thru that door, which he learned in his class is legal. Also at one of his docs offices it says, "no hanguns". The word spelled wrong nixes it. The people who C&C are not the dangerous ones! They are the ones who got it to protect their family out in public. What a shame it's come to this. What is wrong with people? I swear it's either antidepressants gone wrong, or withdrawal from them or some of this synthetic stuff that has become so popular. I can't find any other reason.

I bet you feel safe with your son. Most think my hubby is a cup if they notice his gun because of his frame and hair cut,

I just want to say whatever happened to the shooter's mind is also a tragedy. He was accepted into a program at the famous Salk Institute years ago. (beautiful place) He had a brilliant mind that could've saved lives. It seems important to find out more. I guess we can't help but feel anger towards him, and then his family, or anybody else that should've noticed, but anger is not going to solve the future problems of mental illness showing up at your nearest mall.

I feel bad for his family, they too are victims...

Thank you for posting this human nicety. I would like to think that everyone would feel as you do, but from reading across the Internet, there are those who are already blaming the parents and will always blame anyone other than the criminal himself.

We don't know the history of this family, but this was a grown, legal-aged man that committed these murders. His family could very well have seen the signs, (or not), and tried to get him to seek help but he refused. He unfortunately had that right.
