I don't think he really wanted to see her... So she didn't let him know she was coming...

However... On another WS thread... There is reported evidence from HLN that JA made quite a few phone calls (to TA) on her trip...

I don't know what to think of that...

JMO

She might have made quite a few calls to him, but we don't know what was said in those calls. She probably told him she was on her way to Utah. I don't believe he knew she was coming. JMO

What if Travis had assembled the new floor cleaner and had moved the furniture in preparation for using the floor cleaner when he was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Jodi at his door?

Jodi could have not arrived at Travis' house until as late as say, an hour before the sex photos were taken. And maybe she did park in the driveway, but it would have been after the roomate had gone to work.

She could have arrived in town at 4:00 am and then slept somwhere in her car, which she has stated she would do when traveling long distances.

If this is what she did, why lie about the timing of her arrival?

The floor cleaner bothers me too. IMO, JA arrived at 4AM, parked around the corner, watched TA cleaning the floor (OR maybe he was sound asleep upstairs), she waits for the right moment and sneaks into the house. Her goal at this point is to creep on his computer, possibly uploads or copies TA's hard drive.

I think the computer activity at 4AM is JA, doubtful TA would use a proxy server to watch the same music video 3x. I can come up with two reasons JA would use a proxy server: A) to conceal whatever she was doing on the, just covering her tracks, or B) installation of keylogger software. Why would she lie about where she parked upon "official" arrival (probably late morning)? Too many lies to keep up with, IMO. She did not park her car in the middle of the driveway at 4AM because she was in stealth mode, and obviously TA's roommates would see a random car when they left in the morning, which they did not.

JA couldn't reconcile so many of her own inconsistent statements, so many half truths.

1. 4AM arrival; truth watching TA in his office with dog before he notices she's there, no barking, watching videos together; lie?

#2. Parking in the middle of the driveway; truth but for 2nd arrival later in AM maybe they look at videos or hang out in his office that morning but we don't have record due to the proxy server?

I think JA admitted her 4AM arrival because of the computer activity, or maybe video on traffic cams near his home around 4AM? She couldn't be sure what they knew. She even had an explanation ready to go if a neighbor witnessed her creeping outside.

My two cents, but no, I do not think Travis knew she was coming. I read that they hadn't spoke in two days, plus it was part of her plan to slip in & out of Mesa without being tracked. I think she just showed up & Travis didn't have the heart to not let her stay. I often wonder if he felt fear the entire day she was with him - unannounced, middle of the night, etc.

I read Dt Flores report again this afternoon. There were apparently 6 photos of JA and 2 of Travis so there's 3 of JA our eyes have been presently spared from.

Two. We've seen four of Jodi. Two full-length (one showing the headboard and the rest of the bed--TA's not in bed), a front closeup, and a rear closeup.

I vote Yes. I believe she did tell him the morning of the 3rd because she wanted to make sure she could get in without his roommates knowing and because parts of what she told Detective Flores when she came up with the ninja story were subsequently confirmed by the computer forensic analyst Lonnie Dworkin. I think if she hadn't told him and just showed up from California, she could have left the knife and gun home because he would have fainted from shock on the spot.

On Day 12, Part 2 of the trial, Lonnie Dworkin says beginning around the 21 minute mark on the below video, Dworkin says that the forensic history of TA's laptop shows that at 4:08:11 am on June 4, 2008, a YouTube video of Daft Punk Hard Bodies Faster Stronger was watched.

Jodi Arias Murder Trial Day 12. Part 2, Complete - YouTube

Daft Bodies - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - YouTube

Dial back almost 5 years earlier when Arias told Detective Flores:

07:52
DF: What makes you think his roommates were there?
07:55
JA: I asked him.
07:57
DF: What did he say? Who was home?
08:00
JA: He said they were there, but I don’t know who. The reason I asked because it’s kind of an indication of how quiet we have to be.
08:12
DF: What time was that? Do you remember what time you rolled in?
08:19
JA: Umm… 3 o’clock a.m. It was dark.
08:32
DF: Wednesday morning?
08:36
JA: I think.
08:37
DF: Yeah, that makes sense.
08:45
DF: You’re pretty sneaky. You go up there and the roommates don’t even know that you’re there (chuckles).
08:49
JA: I did that many, many, many nights.

08:51
DF: How did they not see your car?
08:53
JA: Ummm...
09:00
JA: I don’t know. I was parked there.
09:01
DF: Oh, you know what! Zach was house sitting for his girlfriend. His girlfriend was on a trip with uh…, on a cruise with her parents, and he was staying the night at… and I think he was staying the night at…
09:15
JA: That makes sense because I want to say that…he said his roommate was home but I don’t remember, but I think he said one roommate was home.
09:21
DF: One roommate. Enrique, he gets up about 5:30, 6:00 in the morning . . .
09:26
JA: And if I’m correct, then Enrique’s has the room that shares the wall with Travis’ room, which is fine, and you know, it’s a KB home. Travis used to say the walls are really, really thin.
09:37
DF: Yes, they skimp on that part.
09:40
DF: Yeah, so Enrique was home, so you went in around 2 or 3 in the morning. But he gets up about 6, and…no he leaves the house about 6 in the morning, and he didn’t notice anything different. Did you guys spend the whole day together then, that following day? Did you guys go anywhere or just stay in the house?
10:07
JA: Slept.
10:09
DF: Well, after a long trip I’d sleep, too.
10:12
JA: Travis stayed up all night waiting. He was watching something on You Tube, some stupid video. He’s like, “You gotta’ see this,” and I’m watching and I’m like, “This is so boring. What’s the point of that?” He’s like, “Just stupid, pointless stuff.” I’m like, “Okay.” I guess everyone’s got to have their time to veg out being so driven and deep as he is for business, which is fine that he watches stuff like that. It wasn’t anything profane or bad or vulgar, it was just people dancing, but they had like boxes of foil on their head. It was like weird, like robotic kind of music.
10:58
DF: The pictures that I showed you of you laying on the bed and stuff, was that when those were taken that day?
11:06
JA: We also made a video but we deleted it.
11:10
DF: A video on his camera? Videos are hard to get once they are erased, they take up so much room and … whereas pictures are a little different.
11:30
JA: Umm…

Also....TA sent her these texts on May 2, 2008:

These are all TA in his own recorded words 8 days after the above text messages. Notice what he said about Tootsie Roll Pops below, and recall the Tootsie Roll in her body in the rear closeup. (Also, he says he wants to pork her, not cork as some thought.)

[Respectfully snipped] The floor cleaner bothers me too.

They were both night owls. TA's friends said that.

The freeweb proxy video wasn't viewed until 4:24 am, according to Lonnie Dworkin at 23:32 on the above vdeo. Prior to that, the versions of Daft Hands were different videos, one called "Double Speed." Both were watched normally on TA's laptop, beginning at 4:08, some 16 minutes earlier. Thus, the proxy video doesn't bother me at all. (To watch the Drunk version of the Daft Punk harder, faster video I had to sign in acknowledging I was over 18 years old and that it was explicit content or something. I took a quick look and backed out.)

After driving all night and arriving that late at night/early morning, I can't imagine anyone logging onto someone else's computer to watch videos, especially ones like Daft Punk Harder, Faster videos that seem geared to men. When JA called them stupid videos, I have to agree.

I do believe he waited up for her. It would have been a most unwelcome shock if she just showed up. And they did have a few long (probably phone sex) convos just 2 days earlier. Why wouldn't she tell him and why wouldn't he wait up for her? Yes he gave her a long 16-page rant but he did similar things earlier and look at his words after that? She had him thinking with the other head. Ask any man. This was a couple with a loooong history of many thousands of texts and emails.

I voted no and I agree with the previous posts as to why. I also am of the opinion that if he knew she was coming to his house, he would have made sure he wasn't home. I think he was done with her per the May 26 conversation.

I say yes Travis knew she was coming even if it was 2 hours before sshe arrived. I just don't understand him telling her maybe a week prior that she's evil, a sociopath and the worst thing to have ever happened to him and then she unexpectedly appears at his home and he jumps in the bed with her. But I'm a woman and maybe this makes complete sense to a man.

Jodi was Travis' drug. He was addicted to the sex with her. He would have been better off mainlining heroin.

Wasn't there a ten or twenty-minute phone call to Travis the day before she arrived? I'd have to check on the exact time she made the call, but if it was late enough (and if she really arrived around 4 am as she said), then he probably wouldn't have time to tell anyone she was coming over. Besides, why would he tell anyone if he was ashamed of his relationship with Jodi and was supposedly through with her? I think he had to know, and agree to her visit, otherwise she couldn't be sure he would be there in order for her to carry out her plans!

Travis called her on June 2 around 3AM lasted 40mins? and then Travis called her again a few minutes later that lasted 20mins? It's posted somewhere on here. Then NEVER another call from TA to JA. JA called Travis 4 times on June 3 and none were over 1min. So must have gong to vmail? Really, I wish I could tell you where to find the list but the fog has totally engulfed me today and I have a damn migraine..

Yes, he knew. It was a secret as he didn't want anyone to know he was sleeping with JA. He knew she was coming, he knew they were going to have sex and he knew no one else would know. He wasn't going to tell anyone and admit what he had been doing with her.

And she came, they had sex and she killed him.

He knew she was coming. And he knew he was going to get sex.

That doesn't make him a bad person. That doesn't make JA less guilty.

TA was not a saint. He wasn't a devil either. He was getting secret kinky sex with JA - why would he say no? She said she'd pop in on her way through, he was keen to get down and dirty.

TA was a normal man - yes he was a mormon, but clearly not a perfect one. But honestly WHO IS? No one is perfect. Guys do things like that - have sex! So do women! Even people with strong religious beliefs. It's not unusual at all. And it's not unusual for a woman to believe that she can make a guy fall in love with her by having secret kinky sex with him. They both had their own differing motives.

Unfortunately for TA, JA had a motive that involved getting rid of him for good.

MOO.

I can believe that Travis had sex with JA even after those angry emails.
I just can't believe that JA would tell Travis about her visit since that means there is a risk of him telling others. She would have done all that hard pre-murder work (she is basically very lazy) for nothing at all.

I still don't know. The fact that he was up at 4 a.m. goes either way. He was known as a night-owl by everyone.

He told room-mate that morning that he'd only had a little sleep by 11 a.m. Was that because he was up waiting on her (if he is afraid, he wouldn't want to be asleep when she popped in)? Or because she was there and keeping him awake? Room mate didn't say TA told him JA was there. Was that because TA assumed JA's car was in the driveway and he already knew? Or was JA hiding waiting on the unfamiliar car to leave?

Here's the thing -- I don't think JA would have let TA go downstairs and talk to a room mate - he could easily mention she was there. I don't think she'd let him text Hughes at noon. He didn't talk to or text anyone after that. That makes me think that's when she "arrived".

He'd had very little sleep, and so he was an easy mark for her to get him to do what she wanted him to do.

The simple fact she turned off the phone in Az is enough premeditation for me.

purely speculation and JMO

I am of the mind that it is a yes and no answer.

Yes, he knew she had the potential to show up.

No, he did not invite her or ask her to come. Honestly, in the recording she mentions going to Utah. He knew she was going. Maybe she shared what the plan was.

As time went by on 6/3 and 6/4 he thought he was safe and she wasn't going to show up. She probably had mentioned at least once in those calls that day she wanted to stop by.

I don't think he asked her to come, but I don't think he knew for a fact she wouldn't show up. He was already well aware of her stalking, showing up unannounced.

K

My thought, exactly. We know Travis was afraid of Jodi. She may have asked him if she could come to his place since she was on a road trip and he said no. Maybe that happened in the long conversations they had on June 2.

Being afraid of her and knowing she might show up at his doorstep anytime, he probably didn't want to sleep (thus being caught off-guard by Jodi) and managed to stay awake that night, just in case.

I don't know if that makes sense... Of course, that is my opinion only :)

All her acts of premeditation were to make sure nobody ever found out she was there. It would not make sense for her to tell him she was coming. She spoke to him several times on the way but I think that was so she could figure out if anyone was there with him and what his plans were. Then when she surprised him by showing up he may not have been thrilled but she knew he would not turn down another romp with the "three hole wonder"...

On June 26th, he told her she was evil, called her a sociopath, and said she was the worst thing that ever happened to him. Two days later her grandfather reported his gun stolen. He did not know she was coming. Shes not going to rent a car, dye her hair, turn off the phone before the Arizona boarder, and then announce her arrival.

Exactly....I voted no

She might have made quite a few calls to him, but we don't know what was said in those calls. She probably told him she was on her way to Utah. I don't believe he knew she was coming. JMO

:cow: IMO, any phone calls JA made to TA in early June were to sneakily ascertain his roommates' schedules. TA never saw it coming. :(

No. She wouldn't have taken so much trouble to do all the sly pre-murder stuff only to tell Travis and risk him telling others.

Who was he gonna tell? Who'd he ever tell? His friends were shocked by the sex tape; they had no idea he and Jodi carried on like that.

I think she came after 1 pm when T's roommate went back to work after lunch. She went in through the doggy door and made sure he had wonderful sex to keep him occupied so he wouldn't answer the phone. She came in with the pretext of paying him back. He figured he would get it over with and she'd be gone again. After she killed him she had to get out fast before roommate came home at 6 or 6:30. If she had more time she would have done a better clean up job.

This is a tough question. I would like to think he didn't know she was coming, but I have a feeling he did. Another weak moment. Or either he didn't know, and then had a weak moment. It's a toss up.

No way!! I just went back and listened to trial testimony from January 15. He didn't try to call her ONCE when her phone was off. Travis was a sweet, caring young man and I honestly believe he would have called to see how she was/where she was in the dark, late at night, and all alone in the car if he was expecting her!

But who was she taking the pictures for??? I don't get it. Sex pics on his camera prove what? That she was there at his house that day?
I can't ever get a logical scenario in my head that explains why JA would whip the camera out to take pictures.
And why the nude pictures of herself? If she meant to take the camera when she left, or tried to destroy the photos by washing the camera, why bother even taking any pictures?
Who was she proving what to? :banghead:

Looks like she was announcing she was there.
I mean, how STUPID to leave the camera there. I thought she was a photographer. If so, not a real brilliant one. imo
Just a cold=blooded murderess. imo again.
