Discuss..Description of PI video by legal analyst

I was shocked to hear NG say there's no obligation to come forward with the location of a missing dead body..I can't imagine anyone, for whatever reason, doing something this obviously WRONG!
I would think it happens more frequently than we would want to believe. People who find bodies are automatically suspects. Is it morally right? Of course not. We hear a lot of times where anonymous calls are made to alert to the location of a body tho. (Not that I think DC would have done this.)

I heard this just now myself. It seems as if they are whispering something in regards to Hoover and DC, but haven't listened closely enough to figure out the rest.
My question would be, Is there any way to distinguish who this was talking?
Landmarks? Casey has told something to someone...

I think it may have been the legal analyst who saw the tape..He did say "Landmarks" for sure so PI Casey was LYING! about everything & I know why he LIED!..He thought all the film had been erased (didn't know Hoover had 2nd camera) so he figured it was safe to tell LE it was Hoover that was LYING! & not him..I heard that part very clearly.

When LE hears this (surely they will) PI Casey is in big doo-doo if they can prove it's all TRUE!

Deep doo, too. It will take more than a 3 foot long probe to get them out.

Does anyone have a video of the hearing that is not online? I'm looking for an MPEG, AVI, FLV, MOV...or some variation thereof. I can try extracting the audio from the segment(s) in question and see if I can amplify it. Not making any promises (there is a LOT of background noise) but I can give it a shot.

About the overheard whispers: I was thinking the talk came from the prosecutors table, not JB's, but really have no idea. It could have been just courtroom observers???? There was a male voice doing most of the talking. I don't think JB was privy to all that information at the time, though he was obviously interested in the topic. When his motion for appointment of a special master to sit in on Casey's LE interview came up later, he seemed surprised to learn a voluntary interview already had taken place. IIRC, the SA said she did not attend it and it lasted 3 hours (?). I need to go back and re-listen.

Do you think the Casey interview would be long if he just went in and said he was there on the Kio hunch, no big deal? Or did it get long after he was confronted with the tape?

In hindsight the MR wishes he made an anonymous call? He's been put thru so much BS (probably more to come) but OTH it sounds like he's about to cash in which should make all the BS worth it.

I get all you're saying but I'm still stumped over why it's not our "civic duty" to report finding a body..I just went on a search for 'Good Samaritan laws' but found none that apply to this issue.

Kinda funny!..I'm talking to my son about this (right before I start my search on Wikipedia) & he tells me about a Seinfeld episode he'd seen re: 'Good Samaritans'..Sure enough there it was at the end of the page :)

VERY GOOD POINT Amethyst I to noticed Baez's facial and body expressions....He appeared very shocked I AGREE he was suprised that DC had already talked to law enforcement...

I feel the same way. If I found a body and I was a PI, a lawyer, whatever, confidentiality agreements would be out the window. Maybe I'd get in trouble, lose my license, whatever, but I could never sit on information like that.

I could hear whispers, but not what was said...I also thought it was coming from the prosecutors, not JB or his team.

Do we know if he was interviewed before or after LE had the tape?? I am really looking forward to reading/watching that iv.

This has been my question, too. What could JB have gained finding the body? Nothing. Unless it was to...

A) hide it better.
B) plant evidence.
C) match up to a psychic tip to try and show that someone else did it.
D) put the blame back on Kio by building a case against her.
E) thwart the searches from taking place where he knew the body to be.

OT: I could so say something about that tuna remark...but am forbidden. LOL

I really believe that the fact DC didn't call LE before the search and let LE handle this info says alot. IMO, if he didn't want LE involved before it was because he didn't want them involved after.

Would any defense attorney have that much vested interest in the case to risk everything and make efforts to move a body, plant evidence, etc? The most he is gonna get out of this in the end is a win. The worst is a loss. Why would he risk it?

I'm technically challenged, so I can't answer your questions. But thank you for trying to figure this out! :blowkiss:

It seems to me that Hoover did the right thing, big time, by secretly showing up and tipping off TES to the general area. He told them who he was and asked them to keep it quiet. And, he did that a month before he is being accused of trying to profit from videoing the location. I don't think he was trying to make money when he told TES of his suspicions then. I am feeling very sorry for him at the moment, as it does seem he has a conscience and got the info out to a search team with some integrity (as opposed to the KFN team).

To give you an example of the stuff that goes on in a big case. My case that I was the plaintiff in wasn't criminal with LWOP, but financially huge. I had my first attorney disbarred for pulling an equally stupid stunt on me. He took money from the defendants side to get my civil case thrown out with prejudice. There was not enough evidence to hold the defendants attorneys responsible. I found out there are many many attorneys just like this. The defendants side tapped my phone and had me followed, I had to secretly tape people. It got ugly. Fortunately the best attorney in the state took my case and got it resurrected. Which is next to impossible after it was dismissed with prejudce and I eventually won.

I think most criminal defence lawyers take the view that no client in the world is worth losing their practising certificate over and most are very careful and ethical. That having been said, I've also known more than one criminal defence lawyer that has crossed the line themselves and found themselves doing some serious jail time. I also have reason to believe that some of the less scrupulous ones will practically write out a script for their client. Some criminal lawyers try to maintain their clients' confidence by breaking some rules for them (taking mail in and out of jail etc). Where I come from, some lawyers have even gotten in trouble for sneeking cell phones into their clients in jail.

JB has a lot riding on this case...he is a very junior lawyer, who has a great deal to gain if he wins, and a lot to lose if he loses. I think it is a POSSIBILITY that he might break some rules to win. I think he's pretty silly, but hopefully not that silly. But nothing in this case would surprise me!

Oh no...I so feel for you. I am going through something almost identical myself at the moment. I have reported 2 attorneys for improper dealings with money from my mother's estate. They are not all honest, that's for sure!

Exactly, which is why I don't think this came from JB.

Thanks SuziQ and bunny.

If he is in on this (I reserve judgment on that but I lean toward NO), even if he wins the case, an investigation years from now could land him in jail. Hope he's not that stupid.
