OK JSS could have wanted the jury to decide on the DP. But I have a problem with this exchange. Firstly TH states that the sources that he had who knew JSS, said that she wanted the DP, and was upset that JA didn't get it. I can't imagine JSS sharing her personal opinion during the trial, so maybe his sources said this after the trial. The female host states that JSS knew that the jury was 11 to 1 for the DP. This is not true. She then states that it is kind of obvious (paraphrasing) that JSS wanted JA to get the DP, because she sent the jury back to deliberate some more. WTH? Every judge on the planet should do this if there is a chance of a hung jury. It doesn't reflect any personal agenda on the judge.
TH doesn't correct her on this, but agrees, and adds that it was like JSS was saying "I don't accept the verdict that you just put out--go get the one I want". Sorry-but he just lost a lot of credibility IMO. I don't even understand what he is talking about.
I do think that JSS was more than happy to give JA LWOP. But that is the only thing that I am confident about. I am giving her credit for that, in spite of the reality that if she hadn't done it--it would have been political suicide for her reelection to the bench. JMO

Just dropping by to say that I saw Jodi's booking photo. Nothing gorgeous about her now - not that there ever really was. Jodi has aged significantly since this saga began, and it won't take long for her to deteriorate even more at Perryville. Arias' "glory days" are over, and she will learn to blend in with her fellow inmates or incur their wrath. Enjoy the long, hot summer, Jodi
As frustrating as the trial was at times, I think Judge Stephens made sure that there were absolutely no - zero, zip, zilch - grounds for successful appeal. I was edified to learn that JSS wanted Jodi to get the DP.
Wow. That's the most restrictive area - stands for Restrictive Status Housing Program. Those convicted of "Forbidden Three" acts (serious assaults on staff, serious inmate
on inmate assaults with a weapon and multiple inmates assaulting an inmate with serious injury) and anyone with a mental health score of 3 or higher are there - I think the more violent ones are kept in another area than the mental ones. All movement is in full restraints, property and privileges are limited and placements are reviewed every 30 days.
That answers the question of why the killer was to be more or less isolated for only the first 30 days. I recall that report coming out of PV just before she was transported and was concerned that it was such a short period of time. But it seems that it's 30 days, then reviewed and could be another 30 days, then another review...and so on. So, it looks like the killer has to earn her way out of her initial restrictive housing and even though it is possible she could do this in 30 days, it seems highly unlikely given what we know about her personality.

I think this is just her move to her "permanent" home. The first time is in intake, correct?
There are many comments that express this idea, so I'm not quoting any of them, but the simple fact of the matter is that JSS was a complete joke throughout both trials. I think even Nurmi couldn't believe all the grasping at straws he was allowed to get away with, and once he and JA saw what worked, they kept trying for more, and were granted it EVERY. SINGLE. FREAKING. TIME. Even down to the last moment when they asked for over 30 days until sentencing.
And as that new book shows (can't remember the title but it breaks down the direct testimony), so much of it was irrelevant and never talked about the actual crime for days. She was allowed to ramble. This trial took several years, when other, similarly complicated trials were over in a few weeks start to finish. The jurors showed up late, waited for 15 minutes, then told to go home until next week. Then back for a day and a half, then told 2 weeks from today. None of this would have been unusual or unreasonable if JSS had required them to move along, or to stop with the delays. The attys are used to this and this judge did not control her court. Sidebar after sidebar after sidebar, objectionmweapproach??
Even to the very end of the LAST day, where Juan asked to go AFTER the killer, but he still had to go first, and thereby gave the killer one last knife twist to counter Juan's closing remarks.
I'm glad she gave the right sentence, but she effed up royally up till that time.
So even though she didn't get the DP, she now resides in a cell that housed someone who did receive the DP? I like it!Troy Hayden said he believes the murderer will be housed in the same room that Milke was in, the blue room
