I think he always knew he was going to dismember D's body, it was part of his plan. He did not feel any love for him so it was just a "task" to be done for him, to try to cover his tracks. It happens fairly often, it seems, from crime shows and books, that they killer does this to make things easier for themselves. The murder and cover-up are all about their own needs and wishes so they just do it.

I remember feeling a sort of chill when I first saw him on Dr. Phil. It was like I already suspected him but felt certain once he opened up his stupid mouth.

I feel certain they have a solid case. It does seem like they could have arrested him sooner but I guess we don't know everything. Hoping the trial is not too many years off, but not optimistic.

By then he thought he'd gotten away with it for good and was just flaunting his freedom in her face. I hate him so much. Lord forgive me, I hate this man!

I'm with you. I never have hated a human. Hated what they do/did. Until this case. Elaine and Cory have done a wonderful job keeping Dylan in the press. We really grew to love this little man.

I can't believe this guy walked free for five years. Also, so many people were defending this guy on here for years. This case created a massive division within posters and others on here. Glad to see justice finally coming. Crow pie party later at my place.

Just saw the fantastic news! #justicefordylan

Wait, what? Do we know for sure he dismembered him? Not doubting you at all cluciano63b but I've yet to read that.

Hard to believe Dylan would now be of age to be dating, planning his future etc. Until MR decided his future for him. Oh and from what I have heard/read alcohol withdrawal is extremely unpleasant. Just sayin......

Great news to wake up to today. I'm hopeful justice will be served in this case. Poor Dylan. His poor mother. :(

Not answering for cluciano but I think it's a conclusion that some (including myself) have made from these details in the indictment, and what/where remains have been found.

Elaine is always very careful about what she says and will not hesitate to say that she cannot or should not answer or discuss certain things ...
She's my hero !

She has and will always take my breath away the way she handles herself and her child and the brother online.
There have been nothing but class from her, dealing with this crazy sad issues.

He cut off Dylan's head and placed it in a different area. What a disgusting vile evil person.

I imagine they kept the finding of the skull secret so that Mark wouldn't know. The indictment said he told Brandon that as long as they didn't have the skull, they could not prove the blunt force trauma.

Dang, what a sick man Mark was. I just hope he stays locked up the rest of his life! IMO

I did not know the skull was found. I guess no one did? Good police work, if that is true, keeping it under wraps until the arrest.

I guess there is still hope for Baby Lisa, Kyron and soooo many others.

Knowing how Mark lives to be in Elaine's presence, drink in her pain, and blame her for everything, I'm guessing Mark will go to trial just to see Elaine on the witness stand. Mark's lawyer will throw a bunch of parental alienation bs at her in order to justify what Mark did. Mark's lawyer will also blame Dylan.

http://statelaws.findlaw.com/colorado-law/colorado-second-degree-murder.html

"Second degree murder is a class 2 felony generally penalized by a presumptive minimum of 8 years and maximum of 24 years, with 5 years parole.......Murder in the second degree is reduced to a Class 3 felony where the death was caused by a sudden heat of passion, caused by a highly provoking act of the victim, which excites the defendant sufficiently, and that a reasonable person in his or her place would also be provoked. However, if there was time to cool down from the excitement, it would be a Class 2 felony."

I believe Mark planned to kill Dylan all along if Dylan did not agree to move back. But proving premeditation is difficult. Mark is lucky he's only being charged with 2nd. It's so tragic that Elaine will be probably have to be subjected to more of his vindictive blame game.

While MR may feel he is inflicting more pain on Elaine and Cory I do feel that Elaine will be Dylan's voice. Tables have turned. Finally.

It's just to bad they didn't feel they had enough evidence to charge him with first degree murder. Considering how he covered his tracks, he put some thought into his cover-up.

There is a part of me that is amazed Mark is still alive. With as unstable as he was appearing, I would have thought he would have killed himself rather than face all the pressure he was getting, knowing the walls were closing in on him and eventually he'd be caught.

"Redwine told investigators he left a contempt of court accusation on the kitchen table where Dylan may have seen it and may have become upset."

I wonder what the contempt assertion was about. The move was granted in July, 2012, with a recomputation of child support scheduled for January, 2013, I think. But Mark had a deadline to get his financial affidavits in, and if I recall correctly, he missed it. If the contempt filing was about child support, then it fits Mark's patterns about money, control, and secrecy.

He probably started planning the runaway excuse as he sat at his kitchen table, going ballistic, realizing he was going to have to pay a few bucks in child support for the first time in his life. Plus, the narcissist would be exposed as not making much money compared to Elaine and Mike, and his image would be damaged.

It sure would be nice to discuss this case with all of the new evidence we just got instead of bringing up bad past postings by members who have been banned or no longer posting.

Time to move on.

Agreed. Just wanted to clear the elephant in the room.

I wonder if more charges will come. Given what it appears Mark did to Dylan's body.

I'm sure she is. That being said, the Defense will be looking for anything and everything to claim prejudice or a mistrial. I would think to air on the cautious side it would be better not to make comments at this point. However, that is what legal advisers are for....just an amateur here. : )
