Mr Bousfield, who last spoke to Eliza in August, has been in contact with the police and the Huszti family following their disappearance.

Eliza Huszti’s former boss says everyone ‘spoke highly of her’

Eliza would know the area where the sisters disappeared ‘very well’

Scott explained that the area where the twins went missing is one Eliza should be familiar with.

Scott said: “Eliza would know the area where they went missing very well. She used to work for us down there.”

“We do find it strange they handed the flat back. Why would they do that?”

Even at the end of her employment with Scott’s company, Eliza remained very professional.

Scott said: “One day, we got a text saying that she had found another job.

“She didn’t say what the job was, and she was handing in her two weeks’ notice, and that was that.

“It wasn’t just an I’m not coming back text, which we’ve had from cleaners.

“It was properly laid out, saying this is the day I’m starting my two weeks’ notice, and I’ll be leaving after that.”

Who would turn directly near their former place of work to drown themself? In my eyes it doesn't fit. IMO

They would have checked local cctv to look for any signs of the sisters moving around or leaving the area. But I don’t believe they would assign full teams to scrutinise footage further afield once they had eliminated any sightings from that vicinity. Different story if they believed a crime had been committed.

But again, we don’t know - we can only speculate.
Totally agree. I think that the police probably have additional information ,perhaps trained dogs who tracked their scent to the river bank ,which reinforce their theory that the two women entered the water.

Question for those who may know. If they were in the river how likely is it that the police would have found something during the search? I've no idea how difficult it would be in that river.

They have. Plain clothes officers were at businesses all over the area for days after the original missing report and then again when they had released the local authority CCTV images and obviously tracked where they had roughly gone. The second image from earlier in the day (the original visit) is from a camera on the opposite side of the river, a private companies CCTV.

At low tide, it is fairly fast moving.. the harbour exit is often muddy with what is expelled from the harbour/river when low and fast. So a body wouldn’t hang about long in that part of the river, only the harbour with ships parked up or jutting out areas would cause bits where that could be impeaded, but likely in the end you’ll end up in the sea when ships move and disturb those area.

The earlier case of the teacher kinda shows if you end up in it, even non deliberately, you are being overwhelmed and ending out to sea.

If you mean would a diver(s) find a body or clothing/bag etc in the river. It’s not deep at low tide, so likely they would have, seeing how long there were there for checking. It is also frequented by many during the day and the boating clubs are now back on the river. It’s easily witnessed by hundreds of folk per day fairly close up at the edges. Anything still there would have highly likely been spotted. It is unlike the NB case, where where she fell in was a considerable distance from sea, was slower moving it seems and narrower / more twisting.

Yes, I wondering what level of confidence the police would have that if there was anything in the river they would have found it by now.

I just think its odd they have found nothing or at least they haven't said. No shoes, no bag, no sign of anything that may have been dropped or discarded I mean if you are intent on this course of action would you care if your phone or bag were left behind.

I honestly think we would know if anything at all found.

In the Nicola Bulley case, if we ignore the phone and dog, I don’t think there was anything else found? That was a more contained area too.

I’ve been told by someone I know who works around there that an Eastern European journalist has been trying to speak to people in the area from the Eastern European community, I assume it is her, she’s collaborated on this, an interview with a previous employer.

Your update is appreciated.
Thanks!

How common is it for someone to commit suicide by drowning themselves?. I cant imagine two people deciding to choose that way to go. I know when i was going through dark years that drowning was never even contemplated.

Given that the sisters appeared to be tying up loose ends with employers and the landlord I don't think it's odd that, if they were to enter the water, they would take everything on them with them, not leaving behind clothing or such as clues.
They wanted to disappear, either intentionally via the water, or by some other covert means and they have done that.

Also from the recent strong storms in Aberdeen nothing (as far as we know) has washed ashore.

Especially in the freezing cold. That's the part I have the hardest time getting around.
I think I've made the point before, but it is probably a gentle way to go particularly in such cold conditions. The shock of the cold might end them before they went under. Remember that most of the Titanic casualties did not drown - they were kept afloat by lifejackets and died of the cold.

These are extremely close sisters who have been together since before they were born. Given a situation where they don't want to go on living, it's natural that they would want to go together. Or perhaps only one was in such straits, and the other couldn't bear to be separated.

It might, and it might not. Gotta say, I can think of gentler ways to go.
