..according to the complaint, JG stated that he currently resided w/ 2 roommates in Orlando. (these could have been the 2 guys that 'took him in'.)

..also, from the complaint----"due to info obtained in the investigation" ( and I would think that was from Diana's Mom and StepDad early on---telling LE that they both had lived w/ them) ---both brothers were contacted, stated their whereabouts on the 29th , when Diana went disappeared.....JG then said he lived w/ these 2 roommates in Orlando, and confirmed the cell # to be his.

..was it after LE contacted him, on his own phone ( # provided by Diana's Mom?) that he ( panicked, and..) ditched the phone? Diana's Mom says she spoke to him In Orlando, he tells LE that he's in Orlando, the strangers that took him in are in Orlando----I wonder when LE contacted him? good thing ( that he was stupid enough) to have his cell phone with him as he travelled all over , Orlando--Ft Myers--Okeechobee--Yeehaw--back again to Okeechobee--Orlando.

There is a Pilot Travel Center on SR 60, very close to 441. It's not a service plaza like Fort Drum, but it is a rest stop.

That's right, it's a gas station/truck stop/convenience store with a Subway inside. Where the BP station is next to it used to be a (not very nice) Stuckey's. IIRC, those and the Desert Inn (gator burgers, anyone?) are the only places to stop on that 50+ mile stretch of Hwy 60 between Lake Wales and I-95/Vero Beach.

The Pilot may be the only one open 24 hrs. I think I see a security camera from street view and would be very surprised if they had none given their location and that they rent spaces to semis for overnighting.

Something that's been rattling around in my head:

The only stretch of Hwy 60 that's two lanes is from just outside Lake Wales to the Turnpike. Two of the search sites are within a few miles of the ends of that two-lane section: the turn-off to the Grape Hammock site is 6 miles from the west end and the Yeehaw Junction site is 8-9 miles from the east end. They're 13-14 miles apart. His phone could've pinged off the tower near the YJ site from both locations though I have a feeling specific information lead them to Grape Hammock.

The travel specifics, such as they are, in the affidavit: "residence in Orlando ... continued to head south into Fort Myers area ... headed toward Okeechobee ... continuing toward Yee-Haw Junction ... stationary for several hours before heading back to Okeechobee and ... place of origin in Orlando." (No locations were left out of the quote.)

I've been assuming that he traveled 441 or the Turnpike going to and from Orlando and Okeechobee but that "south" to Fort Myers could mean US 17/SR 17/ US 27 depending on where he lived in Orlando. Both US 27 and SR 17 cross Hwy 60 in Lake Wales.

If he lived (or once had) on the west side of Orlando, maybe he sometimes took US/SR 17/US 27 to avoid the traffic snarls in Orlando and cut over on Hwy 60 south of Lake Kissimmee/the upper Basin to 441. According to Google Maps the route is about 15 miles longer from west Orlando. That would give him a familiarity with that remote stretch of Hwy 60 connecting the search sites and place them on the edges of his awareness space. Or maybe he had prior ties to the fish camp.

As much as I hate to say it, I really hope he is just a lone pervert and she was his only target. I still can't shake the feeling that it is bigger. And every time I look at one thing, more very obvious (not the obscure seven degrees of separation thing) connections come up. Clearly, he is a pervert. That's not even a question. But, IF this is bigger than just him, then it will not only be bad for our sweet Diana, but also many others. I am very anxious for the police to decide they know what happened and who is involved and Diana be found. Of course, I want her alive and well, but she needs to be found regardless.

I know it seems like LE must think it's likely she's deceased, based on the searches they've been doing, but I really feel like he may have given her to someone. It seems like in a lot of abduction cases, a pedophile has reached a level where he must act upon his urges, and then kills the child afterward. But this guy had access to Diana for months. He was probably doing whatever he wanted with her during that time. So why would he suddenly snatch her, rape her, kill her and then hide her body? Pedophile creeps usually know other pedophile creeps, so maybe he knew someone who wanted a little girl and he snatched her for that person in order to get money.

Honestly I don't know which is worse...to hope she's alive, knowing she may be suffering immensely being abused, or to hope she's deceased so she's at least at peace. I wish punishments were much, much stricter for pedophiles.

Polk County investigators now say they are no longer assisting in the search for 9-year-old Diana Alvarez. This comes after we learned Wednesday that they were involved in a search in Central Florida for the missing Lee County girl.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office was helping Lee County deputies and state agents search for clues this week in the Grape Hammock area, off Highway 60 near Lake Kissimmee, about 20 miles west of Yeehaw Junction.

Local and State police cannot arrest for lack of immigration docs due to it being a federal crime. All undocumented immigrants who are arrested and booked into the jail for the commission of a crime are referred to Immigrations and Customs enforcement for deportation hearings.

They can't arrest however they can tell ICE where they can be found. So I doubt anyone will come to police knowing full well that their information could be sent to ICE.

Apologies to all the WS sleuths but I can not possibly read 3 threads to find out the answers to these questions, so please have patience. I want to mkae usre I have this correct:

This child lived with her very pregnant mom and mom's BF, both illegal immigrants, in a mobile home in a Ft. Meyers park with 2 or 3 other children. At some point JGT, a child *advertiser censored* possessor, lived with them as a 'roomate". JGT was kicked out of the house weeks ago and was in Orlando living with 2 other men. Diana went missing. Within a few days the focus of the investigation turned to finding JGT.

He has been located and is being held. Diana is still missing.

How do we know he took Diana? Is he being held in her disappearance or because he is an illegal immigrant?

Immigration status and language barriers. Several people have called Diana's parents with info rather than going directly to LE, such as the guy who offered JG shelter in Orlando. He needed a translator to speak with a reporter.

Item 9 of the criminal complaint mentions his "lack of lawful immigration status in the United States."

I also think language barriers/accents have led to some misunderstandings...mom checked on her at 10 or 2? Easy to confuse those two words with a heavy accent from a person who does not speak English fluently. I am sure there are some other times where this has come into play.

He said that Guerrero-Torres is currently set for a probable cause hearing on June 20.

This video was posted sometime yesterday. It gives you a little better idea of the terrain around there, looks like a mixture to me, open fields and wooded pastures.

I still think they need to blanket the most probable areas he may have been with as many people as humanly possible. This is not an area where weeks or months from now someone may stumble across a body while out jogging or walking their dog. Once these teams call it quit and leave, chances are good there won't be another human being walking around in these fields for a long time to come. They've only got one shot at this.
