With TES and LE not being able to find Haleigh in the area, I would have to agree. Misty to my knowledge did not have a vehicle and this would mean she had to borrow one or had help. If she borrowed a vehicle, I think we would have heard about it by now.

Still leaves the boat, if they did in fact take one into evidence.

haven't heard anything about it. but.....

she has no job and was previously homeless. ron could have more than one vehicle. but....

i heard that you can't get a drivers license in florida (if you drop out of highschool and don't get your GED) until you are 21. misty doesn't have her GED.

If you drop out of school or miss more than 15 days in a 90 day period, you lose your license and must attend school to get it back. You can get it back when you turn 18. You can get a hardship waiver though.

As dumb as everyone here is making Misty out to be, do you really think she was intelligent enough to pull off a crime and hide the body? We don't know if she even had access to a car.

I said early on I thought this perp was connected to Misty somehow or met Misty or Haleigh earlier. I think this cousin is a GREAT lead. He's also a pedophile
That was my first thought when this story broke, Nedthan. Even if somehow she WAS able to pull it off, no way could she keep her own counsel this long. IF not a pedo, I think there was some sort of negligence on Misty's part, left door open, unlocked, trailer unattended.....

Good to know Catch, that confirms for me when Misty said "they took my blanket" she meant the police van.

The other day when everyone was thrashing this out, the video where she talks about the van/blanket was linked and it was clear in her story that the van took the blanket before anything happened to Haleigh and the police were called. I'd link the video but my head hurts for real!

Who is "they" has that been confirmed that she meant "LE" and not one of the vans LE was searching; or someone else?
Did she refer to "they" taking the blanket earlier in the day, right?

I do think she was talking about LE, after LE confirmed that they pulled the blankets outside on the ramp for the dogs to get a good scent to help find her. At least, I think this is how it was reported.

I've been thinking about that, and it seems that the high interest questions that we all want answered have gone unanswered. I can't help but believe it is strategy on their part.
I think it is a bad idea for LE to ignore putting out this fact. It is very much part of the timeline to alert people when Haleigh went missing for certain...which people do need to know in case they saw something suspicious at school, the bus stop that morning or afternoon, or even at school. Suppose someone saw the janitor scoping her out, but now they think Haleigh wasn't there that day so they don't say anything. I just do not understand their reasoning and think it is a big mistake.

I thought we decided she was talking about the blanket that LE took in THEIR van.

"It was in the van they took". Now I know Misty has a hard time communicating. BUT. She would have just said the police took my blanket. I don't think it was LE.

OH SNAP...she would not have needed two blankets if hers was there.....so no she was not talking about LE. She explains why she neede two....because hers was gone.

Looks and an act can be very deceiving. She has experience with children, she took care of her nephews as well. Her memory doesn't need to be jogged, he memory needs to make up its mind exactly which story she is going to tell and stick with it.
Well, I still think she is a bit slow, but :clap::clap:about making up her mind!

No. It isn't clear actually. She was talking about 3 different events, but inserting them out of order of when they happened.

Oh, now that is interesting!! Thanks, Kimster!!! 3:45pm is the time that Ronnie said he met her at the bus so it sounds right. So it really makes NO sense that LE isn't saying she was at school. WTH? What is the big deal there?

They're not giving any details at all. It's not just school, it's everything.

I agree. It would help narrow down a timeline and also give others a chance to recall things they may have seen. Yet there has been no warning to the public either that a perp is on the loose. I still think that they know what has happened and are keeping these questions unanswered until the lab test comes back, just in case their thoughts are wrong, they can go back then and start answering the questions without the need to change anything.

Hi Scandi! My little 5 year old is 39 lbs, as well. She's a tiny little thing. I know for a fact that she can fit into our cooler as she about gave me a heart attack by climbing into it (to hide from her sister) as we were cleaning the garage recently.

My DS just turned 6 and he's 44 pounds. He's tall, but average weight for his age, according to his Dr at his check-up last month.

I thought we decided she was talking about the blanket that LE took in THEIR van.

This is the portion of the interview about the blanket and the van

I didn’t hear anything at all. Nothing. If I had heard something I would have got up and not wouldn’t let them take her.
So What happened?
Ok , I put her to bed about 8:00. So ? [this her bed time because] she has school. I put her to bed and Her blanket and my blanket, my blanket was in the van that they took. So we had a blanket hanging on the window and I had to wash that and her blanket, her blanket was, she peed on her blanket the night before I guess, and I wasn’t going to put it on her and it smelled like pee so I washed the blanket and I gave her a little sheet to cover up with and she fell asleep and I came in and put her blanket on her and then I laid down and it was about and not positive at what time I was like 3:00, I seen three, 3:00 o’clock in the morning, I got up and I got up because I had to use the bathroom but I didn’t make it to the bathroom, I seen the kitchen light on and I walked in the kitchen and I saw the back door was wide open and I didn’t notice about Haleigh then till I seen the back door open and then I go in her room and she’s gone and that’s all I know.

Not the way I read what she says 'was in the van' To me the van was prior to Haleigh missing

The people that need to know already know. People at the school have been questioned. That I know for certain.

IMO the cynder block/brick is something that Misty could have not come up with on her own in this crazy scenario. Also the father said he didn't recognize the brick. Who brought it if Misty had help and why would they have needed it then?
I thought he said later that it may have come from either behind the trailer and he probably didn't notice as they rarely use the back door, or from the outbuilding/pump house?

The blanket was gone before Haleigh went missing so couldn't of been LE taking it. Thats why she had to take the blanket off the window and wash it and Haleighs blanket because her was in the van (I think it is her SIL van)

I thought we decided she was talking about the blanket that LE took in THEIR van.

If Ron has an extra vehicle it doesn't mean jack if she doesn't have a licence. If she wanted to discard the body and if she wanted to cover something up and was hell bent on doing that then what makes you think she wouldn't just jump into a vehicle and drive off in it? It could definelty be done. This girl I know used to drive her moms car from her house and into town(and I know b/c rode with her once) 5 minutes away before she even got her licence. The town I live in is small so you could easily get away with it. I would have been like young back then.

if your 'cousin' molested you, would you let him in your house?
Wouldn't you be really afraid of him?
does NOT make any sense to me at all.............

I am trying to catch up here, but that too struck me as odd. I would be very afraid of him and would be calling someone to help me if he was there. No way he would be coming in for a visit....

I just can't even began to sleuth anything she says because in the police report, she tells them she got up to go get a drink and found the backdoor open, here she says that she got up to go to the bathroom..
I just can't believe anything she says.

You make a good point! I don't see Misty as diabolical--but I don't necessarily see her as truthful, either. If some person she knew decided to do something illegal (such as harming little Haleigh), I don't think Misty has the power or the gumption or the self-esteem or whatever we could call it, to put her foot down and say NO and save the little girl from someone who wanted to molest or harm her.
I don't either Dev, but I really can't see her being able to keep a secret this long under pressure and questioning either.
