Something must have stopped them from waiting 6 months until she was 18 so there may be more to the story and I wish her well, it's not too late to pursue those dreams.

That's what I am thinking. Why take off when, if waited 6 month, she could have gone with him legally and he wouldn't have been facing charges?

I think when he found out that a friend of C. knew that they "hooked up" he set his plan in motion to get "the evidence " out of the country. I am happy that another Tad Cummings is behind bars. But alternatively, the age of consent in NY is 17 so LE would not even bother to ask. Now when the FL LE arrives, that will be the reckoning.


It appears to me that the argument that she went willingly may not hold water. He could have used the snap chat pictures to blackmail her into going with him. This would explain why she factory reset her phone. She probably thought that if she could help him get away from trouble, then no one would know. That is why she withdrew the money and he pawned his stuff.
 
School already declared that there was no evidence of a relationship, so seems like he wouldn't be afraid of that. Why take off? I think something else was going on.

The affidavit also states that a school resource officer reached out to either the sheriff’s office or the parents about a rumor that circulated around that C. and Rian had been in a relationship in August right after school started. The investigation into this rumor ended after it was deemed false and the boy who brought up the rumor recanted his story, according to the arrest affidavit.

I agree, especially given that “it” was specifically referring to him wanting her to leave the country with him.

And who knows, maybe she wanted to end the relationship too, Perhaps he saw that she was growing away from him and getting more involved in her own activities and thus he pressured her to leave everything behind.

But the pregnancy thing is also a possibility.

Either way, what a . This might’ve started out consensually but I don’t believe he didn’t use his position and authority and age to take advantage of her. She might not have known better but he certainly did.

According to MSM the arrest record stated that Rodrigues took and used his father's Discover card to pay for trip items. For the life of me, I can't see what she saw in him for the initial attraction as she had a boyfriend who seemed totally smitten with her in their facebook posts together and she looked just as happy, and pretty recently. She seems happy to be back with her parents which does suggest that running away was not been her idea.

The records detail a conversation C. had with the friend. According to the friend, C. said the two were planning to leave and she (C.) didn’t know how to get out of going.

Ward F. found her cellphone in her bedroom and a factory reset had been performed on it. According to documents, he told police he was able to pull some old Snapchat messages that confirmed her relationship with Rodriquez.

In the messages, C. makes explicit remarks about Rodriguez’s genitals.

Watching this on the today show now. Her standing with her parents yesterday (last night?) or maybe this morning answering questions she is silent. She is being held by her dad and looks pretty sad.

Also it showed video of the soccer coach being led to the police car in handcuffs. He will be arraigned today in Syracuse.
