I find it strange that she immediately went to a hitman theory? And notice it's all about her... her friends or brother want to protect her. Dan didn't treat HER well.
You would expect that a mother would first panic about her children's safety after given the " news " that there had been a shooting, at the house. imo.
On another note, why did WA engage in such inappropriate, imo. banter with the tv repairman?
rbbm.

She had spoken with her brother on the phone the morning Markel was killed.

“He knew Danny treated me badly and it was always his joke, he said, "I looked into hiring a hitman and it was cheaper to get you this TV so I got you this TV,'" Wendi Adelson told investigators. "He would never.
"I told that to the repair guy this morning. He asked me how much it cost, and I said I didn’t know because it was a gift because my brother said it was cheaper than a hit-man. It was my divorce present.

In a newly released video of Wendi Adelson's interview with police, she finds out her former husband was shot and killed.

She nervously called her mother near the end of the police interview to tell her what happened, calling it the “worst day of her life.”

Wendi Adelson remarked afterward to a victim's advocate about her mother’s initial reaction.
“My parents sounded really surprised, so that’s at least a relief,” she said. “I’m just trying to think who would be angry enough to do something to him. My parents would be angry, but they’re not capable of this. Thank God. I really couldn’t handle that right now.”

Here is a link to police video, apparently released today, of Wendi Adelson being informed of Markel's death.

Good Lord!!
1) she is almost hyperventilating before the cop even tells her what happened.
2) it never seems to really sink in or matter that her boys are now without a father
3) man she doesn't waste any time bringing up her brother. Wonder what he thinks after seeing this.
4) not too surprising that she somehow makes this event, like others, revolve around her.
5) I'm trying to imagine if I were in that situation if I could cry uncontrollably one second and recite a bizarre conversation with the tv repairman about a hitman-word for word- the next second
6) the whole thing seems really weird. A combo of losing control then asserting control, seeming clueless then offering up theories, etc....

It's interesting she kinda throws CA under the bus. I lean towards she knew BUT if that was the case would she throw his name out there immediately. Strange. I think they are trying to cause a rift between the siblings by releasing the video. I bet they are sitting with their popcorn, watching to see what it stirs up.

Asked whether she would have ever asked someone to kill her former husband, she replied: “Not in a million years.”

Statement Analysis anyone?

ETA

I *really* don't like how she covers her face every time she breaks down.

Truer words never spoken!
WA does not have to
ask anyone for anything, things are just given to her, or she takes what she wants!
imo, speculation.

I think CA'S and WA'S conversation that morning went something like this:

"Ok, little sister. Today is the day we've been waiting for. The boys are in school until afternoon, right?! Want to make sure no one is home sick. Oh and that broken down TV I gave you instead of putting a hit on Danny boy, haha, well, use that to throw off the police and as our excuse for our chat this morning, Ok? See you and both boys soon. In Miami. For good. No more worries, little sister."

One of the telling moments that stood out to me immediately is when she sort of inadvertently began steering the discussion toward someone targeting Danny because they "thought this was good somehow," and the officer asked, "Oh, so you're saying you think one of your friends might have done something like this?" and WA throws up her hands and says, "Who would do this?"

Wouldn't the expected response by WA to being asked if one of her friends had done this be an immediate, "No! Never!" if she truly thought this was not possible? I don't think she expected the detective to take her comment and steer the blame toward her inner circle like that. Well done by the detective. Just note that she never said, "No" in answer to that question.

That, and how quickly she was willing to essentially make her brother a suspect to deflect any blame off herself were very interesting, to say the least.

And then, later that night, "Sis, WHY did you throw my name out there?!? WTF???"

before Dan Markel was allegedly killed by hitmen, his former brother-in-law had joked about hiring a hitman, Markel's ex-wife told investigators the day the Florida State law professor was shot.

It is somewhat surprising that WA did not first go to the face book threats ect.that DM had been complaining about, instead she went straight to how he may have been murdered because of how badly she was treated.
Wondering if those "threats " turn out to have originated from the clam, i mean the clan?
imo, speculation.

The video seems to be cut near the beginning, probably to remove her story about where she was, so it's hard to know for sure, but it seems very odd that the possibility of robbery/home invasion is never raised, that would be my first assumption when a law professor is shot in his home in Florida. My second assumption would be that he got into an argument with someone unstable that he had some kind of relationship with - girlfriend, drug dealer, student.

Instead she starts talking about someone possibly targetting her children as though she knew it was a targetted killing, I doubt the officer gave that away.

From the above blog post "If Sigfredo Garcia disliked or even hated Charlie Adelson, it seems unlikely that Garcia would have tried to “help” Charlie by performing a contract killing on his behalf — a killing that would put Garcia at risk of the death penalty if caught."

The blindingly obvious explanation is that Garcia didn't know CA was in a romantic relationship with KM when he accepted the contract. Then when he found out his client was romancing his woman, he'd have been mad alright, CA is lucky he survived.

It's maddening that neither ABC nor the Democrat will post the entire video. I'm very reluctant to draw conclusions from the short clips they posted. We don't know how WA "first" reacted to various statements or questions from the cop; all we know is what the news outlets chose to show us.
